I went to this bar on 7/16/2013 for my 27th birthday. I showed up with 6 people just to have some drinks and enjoy my birthday on a nice quite Tuesday night. When we came in, bar tender told us that the debit/credit card machine was out and the ATM was out of cash. So it was going to be a cash bar. I understand that things like that happen in a business and that was fine with me. The reason why I am giving this place 1 star  is because
1) The bartender was rude. She sat at the opposite side of the bar, talking to a guy the whole time we were there. We had to ask her to come over to serve us drinks. She should have been asking us if we needed anything. We were the only people in the place beside the guy, so she was held up helping others.
2) My friends ordered me a drink called a birthday cake shot. What she made wasn't the right drink. It was pink. (see picture). So that was disappointing.
3) I am a very polite person. I said thank you as we left the bar, and she actually rolled her eyes to the guy that she was talking to at the end of the bar and didn't respond to me. That's unacceptable customer service and was *embarrassing* how rude the bartender was to me in front of all my friends.
The quality of drinks and customer service is why
I WOULD NEVER GO BACK HERE!!!
A bar is only as good as the bartenders. This bar might be good as long as the female bartender with bright red lipstick and dark hair wasn't there. She was simply rude and I was embarrassed to bring friends here.
YOU HAD ME AT ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR
I love walking into a place and automatically knowing someone. Â Someone aside from Mr. Amy S., who is usually on my arm when I go out. When we walked into this place I saw a girl I hadn't seen in years. Another Amy! And she was bartending :) Â I used to do that!!
This Sunday we planned to meet friends at noon for football at this little bar. I'd never been here before and we noticed their hours listed on Google, said that it's closed on Sundays. While this isn't true, it should be stated that they don't open until noon. So we missed the coin toss (no big deal).
All day happy hour on Sunday means discounted domestic beers (we had Coors Light because it was draught). Well drinks were $1 off. We enjoyed a couple of Bloody Mary's and our friends enjoyed a few of them.
The Manager showed up with some Kinder's BBQ in celebration fo the game and it was free with purchase of a drink. That was pretty awesome. The guy seemed like he was very business-savvy. We also noticed an encounter between him and a guy that looked like he wasn't all that well off. It was a very kind action and it spoke volumes for the good-hearted manager. As he left for the day he genuinely thanked us for coming in.
We tried a new shot that had salted caramel flavored vodka and bacon syrup (the salted pig shot or something?) It was good, but.... I'll stick with my beer!
The place isn't huge but we weren't crowded around the bar. TVs were placed sporadically though we ended up watching the one behind us (facing away from the bar) because of the ads on the TV in front of us. It was a fun place - we'll be back.
Went here expecting to have a decent time to play some pool with a friend. Bartender nice to paying customers but when my friend said he wasn't drinking completely rude. Pool table missing two balls. It's fine in a pinch. Have had better but whatever. Once got a free drink for solving a girls math problem (for school) at the bar.
Review Source:Whenever I feel like a quick drink and/or game of pool, this is always my first choice. Â Be mindful this is a dive bar and has a different crowd than Walnut Creek. Â There are other choices in the Downtown Concord area but this is by far the best (in terms of pool tables).
They have a great selection of spirits, a jukebox and well maintained pool tables.
NOTE: They do not serve food but do offer chips.
At around 12am the Walnut Creek crowd comes here because it closes at 2am.
Total dive bar. Can be nice and fun but some nights (like last night) it brings in some unsavory types of people. Younger loud obnoxious drunks with tatts playing crappy songs on jukebox. Last night was urban night apparently...
Bathroom is gross. No toliet paper at all and barf in the sink. (womens) I told bartender chick with dark hair, she seemed pretty lazy she said she didnt have a key to the supply closet. whatever.....Pool tables are $1
Scores looks like a new, remodeled pub unlike the dive bar it was.Scores now has many flatscreens, 2 pool tables, Â a computerized pooling alley, an electronic juke box.
the L-shaped bar provides most of the seating, there's only a few tables on the main floor.
pours:
-stella artois (3.5)
kind of stale tasting, not very cold,
-ketel one orange vodka on rocks(6)
average pour. tinge of orange flavoring.
on draught:
-self serve free popcorn
-relatively cheap drinks, upscale vodkas, whiskies, tequila available
-older crowd in the afternoons.
-attentive bartender.
-continuous jukebox plays
Man, what a transformation!
Completely remodeled, great look ad feel to the place, big screens everywhere, awesome bathrooms, the juke box is awesome and the sound is even better! Â
Resonable prices and there is music starting on Thursdays and Saturdays!
Oh,,,, a new dance floor and pool tables!
Scores is located next to downtown concord, right across the from I love Teriyaki & Brenden theaters. Locals come out to this bar and their pitchers are cheap! $12.50 for a pitcher, and 75 cents to play pool. Granted, it is a very low key, budget bar full of loud music, people yelling and old men who are in their 40's. HAHA, however despite the fact that this bar does exist in my home town, I support it.
