My first trip in was just for a couple of quick drinks with my man!
This place is pretty snazzy. Â Has one side for drinks and food and the other where you can rock out! Â I have a friends band that plays here every so often, so I need to come back when they make a trip!
Drinks were great prices I thought, and we came late in the evening too.
Bartender was doing a great job for it being so busy and the only bartender!
It was awesome back when it was Sherlock's. Shamrock's not so much.
Waitresses and bartenders are generally nice and have good service. But both times I've had to encounter the manager have been far less than pleasant. Â Basically it comes down to customer service....
When there was a tab dispute on why we weren't getting the drinks at the price the bartender said she'd give to us, the manager told us he'd have to go review the audio/visual tapes that they use to record the bar.... Okayyyy... not weird at all.... he comes back and lays it on about how he heard nothing about the price that we were claiming.... So I said you are really willing to lose 8 customers who come here every Weds over $40? I had no issue paying my tab (there was no way I was going to screw over my perfectly nice waitress and bartender) but how that guy handled the situation was piss-poor for a customer service industry. He basically said sucks to be you, enjoy the other bars in the area.
Came here on Friday night --
Live band and people rockin' out to "Cotton Eye Joe." Â Large space and a separate area in case the music's too loud for ya.
Games: Big Buck Safari. Boxer. Golf. Pool tables. Air Hockey. Â What else do you need?!
Owner is awesome. Â Bartenders are all super friendly.
Texas crowd... just a damn good time (from what I remember)! ;)
Had a few drinks with a friend here last night and where our first bartender was friendly and responsive and fun, the next shift was the exact opposite. (If you hate your job, why not look for a different one, or grin and bear it until you can quit?). It got to the point where we couldn't get served by either the bartender or the waitress - both copped attitudes towards my buddy and even myself when I tried ordering in his place.
Kudos for the manager for listening and (unnecessarily) comping us a round. The service picked up after that, but the attitude was still detectable.
Otherwise, I like the pub feel in general and the big patent leather sofas in front and the fact that they separated the loud music area from the sit around and talk area with doors. Having a decent cigar shop right next door is helpful as well. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit here, though. I've heard others tell me of poor experiences here. Bummer - that just shouldn't be the case in a local pub.
OK, so there isn't much to do up here in Humble, but Sherlock's is easily the best bar in the area. They have 2.00 Shiner's and Miller Lite's, and the bartenders are quick and nice. They usually have local live music as well as trivia and some tvs to keep up with local sports. Nothing special about this bar, but a nice place to grab a brew.
