I came here on a slightly stormy afternoon wanting to see some ocean. That's about as good as it gets. The drinks are just OK and pricey, nice pour on straight drinks, but the frozen mixed daiquiris were too much daiquiri mix and not enough of the fun stuff. Caesar salad was warm and limp with too much dressing and the service curt. Blackened shrimp were tasty and cooked perfect, but they had a high hill to climb to overcome the misses. Next time I want to see some waves and eat I will bring a picnic in a cooler to the miles and miles of free coastline on Hutchinson Island.
Review Source:For some reason I just wasn't wowed by this place. Sure the location is great, but our sever was a bit slow and surly, the bar band was kind of cheesy, and the food was "meh."
I got a burger; asked for it medium-rare and it came well done. It wasn't bad -- just "meh" as I said before. Mango daquiri was average; I've had much better elsewhere. Prices were average-to-high. All around uninspired.
Maybe I was just there on an bad day, but I'm not sure I'd have a reason to go back.
Omg so good and what an amazing view from outside looking at the beach. Â Huge outdoor patio and the restaurant/lounge with bar is very big. Â Service was really good, waitress Jessica was really friendly and helpful picking out menu items. Â Started with a drink and then had the grilled mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries and my hubby had the crunchy grouper with regular french fries.
Went back at night, had so much fun at their dance party music and drinks were great.
It's right on the beach with outdoor seating, so that's a darn good start. Â The food was very good. Â The Mahi sandwich blackened just right. Â The fries were fresh and cooked exactly long enough. Â I'm docking a star because the margarita while tasty, was a bit weak, but the atmosphere with a sea breeze, and live music, gave me a nice buzz all on their own. Â If we're ever in the area, we'll definitely go back to Shuckers.
Review Source:Excellent mussels in white wine and crusty bread for dipping. Â Waitress was a little rushed due to a huge influx of people at one time. Â But she was courteous. Â Had grouper oscar, which was delicious. Â Friend had fish and chips and was quite happy withnher choice. Â Could use bigger plates or a plate under the dinner plate. Â Small complaints. Â On the whole, I would recommend it for anyone who wants casual waterfront dining and good food.
Review Source:We were looking for somewhere on the beach to sit and enjoy a Saturday afternoon. Â This wasn't the place to go.
For starters, as you walk down the hallway to the hostess desk, you are greeted with a long row of windows showing samples of the extremely cheesy and cheep costume jewelry offered for sale in the gift store. Â That should have been our invitation to run like the wind.
We were seated outside and eventually a waitress came to our table. Â She was anything but friendly. Â We ordered a burger and a BLT. Â Don't waste your money on either! Â The burger had no flavor and was full of hard chunky things that I preferred not to swallow. Â The BLT was below average, a sandwich at any dive in town would have been considerably better.
We ordered a glass of red wine, which was so disgusting it was sent back. Â The replacement wasn't much better, both of them tasted like something that would be served at a college frat party. Â The sweet tea was weak and not particularly sweet.
I cannot think of any reason to ever be lured back to this restaurant.
Let me start by saying I arrived at Shuckers in a wonderful mood and excited to try a new restaurant.  Upon arrival my fiancé and I were informed that the wait for a table of two would be 20-25 minutes, but we were free to grab a drink at the bar while we waited. We went to the back deck bar and found every bar seat occupied while at least a quarter of the ocean side tables were empty.  I went to the hostess table and asked if we could be seated at one of the many open tables, only to be told we couldn't be seated because the kitchen was backed up.  I offered that we would order a couple drinks while we waited for the kitchen to catch up.  That suggestion received a response that others were ahead of us on the waiting list and needed to be seated first so we still couldn't be seated.  At that time, half of the inside tables were open as well.  Long story short, by the time we were finally seated, the server was inattentive and slow, the food was bland and cold, and for two $20 plates of food I expected a much better dining experience.  I created this Yelp account because Shuckers was so horrible and we will never return.  I would recommend anyone else avoid this place as well.
Review Source:Thanks to the wonderful staff for hustling and seating us on the deck overlooking the ocean  Tris and CJ were excellent servers  The Oscar grouper was delicious  Our group had a wonderful evening on the beach  Beautiful scenery, top service and wonderful food was a fine combination  Thanks Tris and CJ!
Review Source:Went for dinner with 6 people on tues night. Got in no problem, no reservations. Sat outside was nice and relaxed. Big complaint is anybody sitting next to you can smoke, we had couple chain smoking! Â Server Jason was quick, efficient and friendly. Had clam and conch chowders, both were very good! Orders were seafood pasta,2 star, way overpriced, seafood ravioli, was large portion, but flavor was lost to tomato sauce, and coconut almond grouper with chutney. Was light and cooked right, but chutney overpowered the fish. One fillet for 16.95 w steamed veggies and rice? Prices to portion seemed about 2-4 dollars over for most entrees. Had way better at mulligans in town even for lunch. Â Not worth the drive to the beach.
Review Source:So I've been going to Shuckers as long as I can remember. Â My grandfather was a staple at this establishment for many years. Â We even had a tile decorated on the ceiling when they were being sold to patrons, if that tells you how long I've been coming here. Â
Since the hurricanes destroyed this area, Shuckers has been remodeled into more of an "upscale" beach bar. Â The music is a little too loud on the patio outside. Â There's nothing special about the food or the drinks. Â The only reason I continue to frequent this place when I'm in town is the nostalgia of spending so much time with my grandparents here and the great location (right on the beach). Â Last time I was here, they let us take the bucket of booze out to the beach. Â Or maybe we snuck it out. Â Either way, at least that was a win!
If you're not looking for an amazing meal, I would consider Shuckers an adequate place to grab lunch and a drink on the beach.
The inside part of this restaurant is pretty unappealing, looks like a Denny's (don't be fooled by the website). The hostess was a little flaky, but I appreciated that she asked us if we wanted to be close to or far away from the band. We waited close to two hours on a Sunday at 3 pm for a table outside for four, but were able to wait on the beach, so that was good. It was very loud. They allow smoking on the covered patio, so that was a little irritating. All of that being said, the fish tacos were EXCELLENT, as were the french fries. So you just have to take the not so great with the great I guess.
Review Source:This restaurant is so generic, I don't even think I can write an inspired uninspired review.
Drinks weren't mixed well, fish was unremarkable, and I'm pretty sure the horrible band was actually lip-syncing. Â My Dad leaned over one song in and said "'Brown-Eyed Girl' WILL BE one of the next three songs."
He was right.
Was looking around Jensen Beach for some less-expensive seafood, and decided to try Shuckers, as the other previous reviews were positive. I was overall not thoroughly impressed.
I went with my parents, and I was the youngest person there by around 25 years. Definitely a place the older crowd hangs out, though I didn't mind it too much (kind of used to it). The location is fantastic, right on the water, with great views. The bar was full the entire time we were there.
The service was friendly, but a bit on the slow side. I think they might have had an event at the restaurant that night, it seemed the waitress was busy getting tables ready on the other side of the restaurant. However, food came out quickly, and anything requested was also brought very quickly.
On to the food. We shared the fried calamari appetizer, and the seared ahi tuna appetizer first. I love seared tuna, and was not disappointed. It tasted fresh and fantastic, and even came with wasabi (totally wasn't expecting that), and a large mixed green salad with sesame ginger dressing. I actually wish I had just gotten this as my meal, but I didn't. The calamari was good, nothing special, but well cooked. For entrees, we ended up with the fish and chips, fried scallops, and clam fingers. The fish and chips was...unremarkable really. The fish in one of the pieces was overly dry, but the flavor was ok. The fries were rather tasty, but again not fantastic. The slaw tasted ok as well. The clam fingers were pretty tasty, if a little greasy. The fried scallops were mushy at best and flavorless really. The "breading" on the outside was hopelessly damp, and they were a tad rubbery.
We didn't get any drinks, but I think if I were to go back, i'd like to sit outside on the deck and have a couple of drinks, some more tuna, and maybe try their creme brulee. But, I don't know if i'd really go back or not. Time will tell!
We went to Shucker's Wed. night for dinner. Â What a nice surprise when we found out they had a band called the "Dreamers" playing.
The dinner was fabulous, and the big band sound of the "Dreamers"was excellent. Â They no doubt have the best Clam Chowder I have ever had. Â Good food and great atmosphere, right on the ocean. Â It couldn't have been any better. Â I definately recommend this restaurant as one of the finest in the area.
Schuckers is BACK!!
Thank God!!
Shuckers is back, and better than ever! You can't argue with the view or the location, how can you not enjoy dining with the sound of the ocean as your background music?
The French Onion soup is fabulous, as are the Buffalo Shrimp to start or as your meal. Hubby LOVES the grouper reuben, kids were more than happy with the kids menu.
Breakfast was great as well, I was only disappointed that it was Easter weekend while we were staying at Island Beach Resort, so we could only do breakfast on Saturday this trip! Eggs Benny were wonderful, omellettes were enjoyed by hubby and big kid, little kid loved his M&M pancake!
Come for the view, stay for the food!
First time visitor to jensen beach, lovely little beach town. Â We were told to come here to eat for a inexpensive dinner right on the beach with a tiki bar. Â Very nice staff from the greeter to our wonderful waitress.
Nice area indoors with large windows that lead to the outdoor deck/ tiki area which had a band going this afternoon. Really fun, more casual setting, lots of people were with coverup's as you can walk right from the beach.
I started with a nice piña colada, it was ok but could've had a bit more rum & creaminess. A bit too icy for my taste.
Loved the portabello appetizer, it was delicious. My hubby had a burger & it was so so... The sweet potato fries were kind of cold & didn't look too fresh. I told him that he should have  seafood, but he is very stubborn!!!
My bruschetta salad was nice but had the same veggies & balsamic dressing as the portabello appetizer therefore it was a bit of an overkill eating almost the same thing twice, but this time cold with a lovely french bread.
Lots of folks in their mid 60's+, but also some families & younger couples/singles enjoying the best thing this restaurant has to offer... The beautiful view of the beach.
This restaurant got an extra star for location, location, location.....
