The food is good, better than most pubs in Cincinnati. I like the vibe this pub gives off. They keep this place very clean. The only things I didn't like were the beer selection not being big come on this is a pub, not Applebee's and the parking. It's very tight and cramped. I know there's nothing they can do about that. I did enjoy the food and wouldn't mind coming again with friends,
Review Source:I've eaten at Slatt's a half dozen times (a few times for lunch and dinner). In terms of atmosphere, "pub" sets the appropriate expectation ie has TVs and gets loud. The service is generally okay, but never been exceptional. The food is pretty good, but never anything to write home about. For the price it's A-OK.
Review Source:HOME TO THE GREATER CINCINNATI BROWNS BACKERS! Slatt's is fantastic. Step foot in there on any Browns game day and you'll feel like you were sent in a time machine to Cleveland! Except even better- because instead of one or two die-hard Browns fans rooting on their team, ALL the Greater Cincinnati die-hard Browns fans are there rooting on the Brownies! Such a family/friendly environment, where even the waitresses jump up and down when the Brownies score. Delicious (TALL!) drinks and decent bar food. Get the biscuits with honey butter...mmm! Love the description of the dedication to the family's mother, who was originally from Cleveland and taught her children how to run a business.
We will definitely be at Slatt's for the next Brown's game! Thanks for giving us a little piece of Cleveland in Cincinnati!
Very good pub food. Â We eat at Slatt's every monday night. The service was a bit hit or miss so we have the same server now who is wonderful (props to you Maria) Â The kitchen does a lot of the prep on-site verses buying e.g. halibut and chicken tenders. Â The biscuit and honey butter is a tasty start. Â They have 2 substantial and interesting side salads, not the usual iceberg and a carrot. Â And the fish tacos are a fave: grilled tilapia. Â Agree if you are looking for the cheapest happy hour then this is not your place. Â But it's a very good neighborhood hangout spot with cold beer and good food.
Review Source:I've eaten at Slatts any number of times, and I have to say, food - wise, they have hit their stride. I have yet to have something that really misses the mark. The shrimp-crayfish-mushroom Etouffe' had so much fish/meat in it, for the first time in my life I felt like there wasn't enough rice in a restaurant dish like this. The salads were awesome, uniquely glazed walnuts and equally unique and delicious dressing.
The service is getting there, right ideas, execution needs some work. Ah, youth, no clue what Dad meant by  Manhattan in a glass with lots of ice. And not a single visit to the table after the food was brought out - that's why this isn't a four star rating, I really did want more rice.
Bottom line, it's a good "if you're in the neighborhood" place to go; kick the service up a notch  and it would be worth a special trip.
Can describe this with one word...inconsistent. First vist was okay with mediocre service. Second visit we never received service and got up and left as the hostess stared blankly into space, oblivious to patrons. Third visit really good and I ordered the filet. Service was stellar thanks to our waitress.
After several more trips Slatts proved to be an okay place to eat.
This is one of my favorite places to go to eat!
The fish and chips is my favorite item on the menu to order hands down! They make the fish perfect pub style with an aioli sauce on the side. My mom always orders the fish tacos which are very good as well. The Biscuits with butter that you get with your meals are wonderful! The butter has a wonderful smooth honey taste to it.
Slatts has a great beer selection.
They have a lot of seating area and they have private party rooms too!
Lots of parking in the parking lot and across the street.
Went to Slatts with a co-worker  and service was slow and food was just okay...The server couldn't even open a bottle of wine. When it came time to pay we wanted to use a yo.deal and the manager said we coluldn't as we ordered Bar food, although the bill for 2 people was 47.00. I will never go back in there again. The place was slow and they should have taken the coupon...no reason told to us!
Review Source:Not bad spot in Blue Ash. We were there for lunch, and had a little time limit so we were happy with the Express lunch options. The food came out fairly soon. Everything was fine but nothing exceptional. I had 1/2 Reuben and 1/2 house salad. Everyone was satisfied with food and service but nothing blew us away. I'd come with no complaints if someone suggested it but it wouldn't be my first choice.
Review Source:Slatts is ALWAYS consistent....great food and fast, efficient service! Â In addition, it's a great place to watch a baseball game; every table has a good view of the large screens, and the crowd always gets involved, which makes it really fun. Â We had the grilled salmon Saturday night, served with rice and broccolli. Â The mini burgers are also very good, as is the filet mignon sandwich.
Review Source:I've been to Slatts a handful of times to have a post-run dinner with my running buddies. Usually there are at least 8 of us each time we go, so I suppose the slow service (even to get water!) is somewhat forgivable...
...somewhat.
The atmosphere is good, but nothing special. Lots of seating, a big bar, and many TVs throughout the bar area. The food is better than traditional "bar food", with some not-commonly-seen appetizers in such an establishment. How many pubs have hummus as an appetizer option?! I love the fried zucchini strips - they are thin, long slices that are breaded and fried, served with a creamy peppery sauce to dunk it in. So so good!
I've had their fish tacos, which are some of my favorite in the area. They use *grilled* fish, not fried! A+ in my book just for knowing the fish is to be grilled for tacos!
By far the best thing to eat are their biscuits with cinnamon-sugar butter. Oh, my. They know their biscuits.
Slatts would get a 4th star if I finally have a visit where we get our waters within 10 minutes... or our bread plates arrive *before* the biscuits are served... or our silverware arrives *before* our appetizers come... or we're given enough menus for our *entire* party...
Regardless, if you're in the area and need a beer and some food (and have some time to kill), check out Slatts. Let's just hope they work on their service a bit more!
Slatts is nestled in the heart of Blue Ash and is a perfect destination for lunch or an after work happy hour if you work nearby. Â The food is good and fast! Â The tomato bisque is actually one of my overall favorites and the chicken salad on a croissant is a punch to the taste buds. Â Don't be scared, it's a nice punch! Â It's no boring chicken salad and me likey! Â Warning: Â You may not get any smooches later...except from maybe your pooches! Â They ALWAYS love you!
The service is friendly and I really like the large enclosed patio for all seasons.
Slatt's is solid, with an extensive menu and a pleasant atmosphere. Just returned from Sunday lunch with a table of 8 and the service was professional and efficient. Most of my party ordered entree size salads, which were huge and made with appetizing looking mixed greens.
Most important point here: I've been searching for really delicious chicken tenders in the Cincinnati area for 10 years now--and I finally found them today. Highly recommended, even if they're something you don't usually eat. Crispy breading and the chicken has that REALLY tender, melty quality which is something of a trick to attain in the deep fryer.
Went there tonight with a party of three. Â Server was not the quickest, but nothing horrible. Â The very long delay in food and the not-so-great quality of the food is what earned the 2 stars. Â
We opted to go here because it's local and were disappointed. Â
They had Noble Pils from Sam Adams which is always a plus. Â The pred-dinner biscuits were great. Â
We had 3 sandwich-type items, which may have been decent if they were not cold, but were obviously not culinary excellence. Â The vegetables that my 2 fellow diners had came out warm, obviously they were the hold-up.
The parking situation isn't horrible for a "downtown" area, just be aware you may have to park across the street. Â
Also, while we only had lighter "pub" type fare, a Pub doesn't seem like it should have such a heavy and pricy menu of larger dinner items. Â Definitely on the higher side of [two] $$
I go to Slatts because of the convenience. Â Though the atmosphere is more of applebees than a pub/bar (many kids running around the place, multiple tables and booths for eating, a smaller bar, and a nice indoor patio), I've tried many menu items....and the food is really good, very fresh. Â
Plus now that the bartender has gotten to know me a little, the drinks have gotten strong. Â Enough tvs, though it wouldn't hurt to throw a few more up. Â One negative....the parking sucks.
Overall, a good place to grab a couple drinks & eat, just not a "bar", or pub as it's listed in yelp.
We use Slatts as our "go to" business meeting spot. While it's pretty crazy there this time of year (Christmas time), we always get a table without a long wait and the service and food are always strong. Lots of people, lots of televisions, lots of fun. I really like the menu because it's easy for everyone to find something that they like.
Review Source:I live in Blueash and my family and I frequent Slats. We always enjoy our food, especially the biscuits. This being said, I've always felt that Slats has somewhat of an identity crisis in terms of the battle between the restaurant and the bar. When i look at my plate i feel like I'm dining at a nice restaurant but when i look around i feel like i am in a bar. Sometimes this is the perfect combination but other times it feels awkward.
Review Source:i love slatts. i loved it when it was baxter's, and it's still good if not better. the biscuits are AMAZING!! so so good. my favorite thing to order on this menu is the lobster bisque. it's really good. and they have a great walnut, cranberry, etc. type salad which is A+ as well. the seafood is always decent. a bunch of ppl come here to watch games, but it's a little more upscale then a regular pub or bar. and the food is not that cheap either. i've never had bad service here but it's not a standout. it's a great meeting place for friends! always packed...but i've never waited for longer than 15 min.
Review Source:My family and I recently ate dinner at Slatts Pub, formerly known as Baxter's. In 2006, Slatts revamped the Blue Ash hot spot, changing its look and expanding menu, as well as transforming the outdoor patio into a second indoor seating option. One thing they kept the same, however, was their delicious hot biscuits.
Although it's called Slats Pub, I don't really think of it as a pub. Sure they have some "pub food," a bar, 11 HD plasma TV's, and pub seating (high tables and chairs), but I always think of it as a nice family restaurant (more for families with older kids) in Blue Ash. Their menu consists of lunch and dinner options, with standard appetizers (potato skins, wings, etc.), entrée and side salads, a list of favorites (including the Crispy Chicken Platter, New England Style Fish and Chips, and Big D's Baby Back Ribs), nine sandwiches ($7.99-$11.99), eight burgers ($7.49-$8.49), three chicken and four seafood entrees, and a handful of "steaks & chops," including the two most expensive items on their menu, the Filet Mignon ($25.99) and the New York Strip Steak ($21.99).
I ordered the Chicken & Wild Mushroom Penne, which was fairly good and definitely filling, while my sister's Shanghai Chicken Salad was "okay, not that great," my mother's Shrimp & Asparagus Salad "really good," and my father's Grilled Chicken & Walnut Salad "very good." I'm normally a sandwich person, and I've gotten a chicken sandwich there before which was pretty good, but you really can't go too wrong with any entrees at Slatts. The food is good, the service is very good and usually quick, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is in a good location. They also have a web cam, which you can check out on their website of course, while they have a monitor in the restaurant as well.
