Slider's has quickly become my watering hole in Fort Collins; and that mostly has to do with the bar staff and the patrons.
Slider's is billed as a sports bar, but it doesn't necessarily have the obnoxious feel of one. Â I usually go later in the evening (after 11PM), so perhaps it is a different crowd there, but I like the atmosphere a lot. Â The bartenders make concerted efforts to know you by name, especially if you are a regular/somewhat regular customer; and are in my experience very friendly (though if you step out of line you may find yourself getting kicked out...sometimes permanently). Â They do seem to have a low tolerance for bullshit; which isn't a bad thing.
They have karaoke night on Wednesday and Fridays; which I make it a point to go to and is always a great time; again; with a lot of regulars. Â However, if you can't tolerate sometimes awful singers (though there are some very good ones as well), those may not be nights you want to visit.
Although I go to Slider's once or twice a week; and have been there at least 50 or 60 times in the year I've lived here, I can't speak of their food because I've never had it. Â I always show up after the kitchen is closed (it closes at 10 I believe), so I've never had the pleasure. Â Heard good things about it, though.
If you're just passing through Fort Collins; there are probably better places to visit than Slider's. Â However, if you are new in town, and looking for a place to call your own; Slider's is worth vetting. Â Between the friendly staff, regular patrons, and decent drink prices; there is a family-feel that comes along with this place. Â Kinda like Cheers.
We have driven past Slider's Sports Bar & Grill plenty of times thinking it was just another little bar in a shopping center, but looks can be deceiving. We are kicking ourselves for missing out on this not-so-little jewel that's wrapped up in a blue collar kind of feel.
Atmosphere:  The front room is inviting with a long bar on the northern side, lots of high top tables in the middle and a few arcade games around the outer walls. Just past the bar is another large room with a few tables, ski ball machines and dart boards. And as if that wasn't enough, there is yet another room with pool tables. The décor is mostly made up of beer and sports memorabilia but we expected nothing less with a name like "sliders".
Service: Â Service at the bar was quick and friendly. The bartender did a shot with us, which in our opinion is always a bonus!
Drinks: Â With twenty tap handles, Sliders has a well-rounded selection of miro-brews and domestics. They have a fully stocked bar that's put to good use, which was evident while watching the bartender sling out a bounty of shots to the thirsty patrons.
Food:  The menu is comprised mostly of pub and grub style bar food like burgers and fries, sandwiches, wings, and chicken nuggets. They also have a selection of south of the border items like nachos, burritos, and tacos, if you're feeling a little adventurous. All menu items are under $10, except one. It should be noted that the one item is - The Triple Bypass ($11.99) and is a juicy  1/2 pound burger grilled to perfection sandwiched between two famous grilled cheese sandwiches grilled on garlic toast. Wow.
