We were wandering around Fort Collins running errands and decided to look for a place to eat. Using the nearby feature of the app, Black Bottle popped up and sounded like a good idea. As usual, Yelp doesn't let me down.
It was fairly slow when we walked in, which is a tragedy. The draught and bottle list are admirable. I opted for the "Mother Should I Trust The Government," which is a saison brewed with Earl Grey tea. I promise you, Jean Luc Picard himself would love this beer. My husband tried the "Panty Dropper Ale." While it was a tasty brew, I'm sad to report that neither he nor I dropped our panties.
They offer a build your own flights feature at $2 per 3-oz pour of any of the beer on draught. I actually wish I had gone this route, because there were so many awesome sounding brews available.
If beer isn't your thing, they also have quite the respectable list of whiskys/whiskeys available.
As for the food, we went light. I had a BLT slider with a cup of beer cheese soup, and my husband slopped up the pork slider with a cup of beer cheese soup. The bread they use for the sliders is so soft and fresh. It's a bit like a baby ciabatta in flavor. Both of our sliders were great, and at $1.99/slider, it's not a bad deal at all! The soup was a bit runny for what I prefer; a good beer-cheese soup should be thick and stout. That said, it still had good flavor with some good red pepper kick to it.
For two pints, two sliders, and two cups of soup, we were good to go and spent $25 after tip. Not bad at all, my friends. We'll be back. Oh yes, we will be back. If nothing else, just for a flight and some of the creme brulee or bread pudding I spied on the dessert menu or the bacon mac & cheese!
They have a great beer selection and a nice cocktail menu. Â I didn't each except for a few of their hand cut cheese fries that were a side for my friends meal. Â I had a nibble of the pork slider meat which was tender and had a nice light mustard tang. Â The staff was great and the food was out quickly.
Review Source:Looking for a place to get a very good meal, tasty beer, great service, and easy parking? This was exactly that for me. I recommend the mac n cheese and bread pudding. The bread pudding was ah-mazing. The menu selection is fairly limited but we just wanted a light meal but with the chance to try a local brewery. Service was fast, attentive, and helpful. We tried 6 of their beers (samplers), but my favorite was donkey punch ---great smokiness. I see myself coming back here for sure!
