Southern Family Restaurant

We had dinner here twice in the last few weeks.  Its in a strip mall on Yadkinville Hwy near OldTown.  Reminded me of the kinds of restaurants that were around when I was a kid.  I had the fried seafood platter.  Two fillets of flounder,  fried oysters,  deviled crabs,  and popcorn shrimp.  More than I could eat in two meals;  with hush puppies and fries.  My friend had the small popcorn shrimp with fries.  Her plate was gigantuous.  Food was fried perfectly and wait staff was great.  Out in under twenty bucks.  Next visit gf ordered popcorn shrimp again and I had the fried flounder sandwich.  Two huge portions of flounder on a bun with fries for under six bucks.  I work nearby now and will be happily gaining weight here.

We had lunch today at Southern Family.  Two in our group had fried flounder.  I had baked chicken, with baked apples and black-eyed peas.  My mother-in-law particularly enjoyed the cole slaw.  The flounder was light and flakey.The service was good, and the food was very good.  The prices are quite affordable.
