My goodness...what happened to this place!?!?! We decided to check this place out while out and about...once we got there....we asked  ourselves:

    1. Where did all the douche bags come from?
    2. Seriously, was it "frat boy douche bag sword party night"?
    3. Why aren't the drinks strong anymore...?
    4. Why is the service shitty?
    5. Why are the bathrooms soo damn disgusting?
    6. Why didn't we just head on over into The City?
    7. What the hell was that smell?
    8. OMG, that was a girl with lovely flowing long hair!...Oh wait...eww...it's a guy working it at "Spin Ultra Lounge" near the bathroom!?!
    9. Is this place under new management!?!?
    10. Why haven't they fixed that damned smoke machine yet?

Ok, I think its time to spin off -SPIN.  Honestly? I could've rented our local community center did a cover charge for $5.00 a person and HAD 3 diffrent  DJ'S in diffrent areas spinnin off REAL MIXES. probably would make more money, with CLEAN RESTROOMS AND BETTER SERVICE!  I do wanna say our Bottle girl and 2 of the SECURITY guards there NEEDS TO BETTER THEMSELVES BECAUSE THEY'RE TOO GOOD FOR THAT RUN DOWN PLACE!

The Club itself- NEEDS help.. its kinda funny thinking that Walnut Creek has a CLUB- so-  I give them 2 stars for TRYING.
Inside was not clean AT ALL.. i've been to clubs in SF on BROADWAY cleaner than this place and HELLOO its in WALNUT CREEK you would think their tight asses would have a nice set up and all BUT sorry I would say this is below-motel 6 quality compared to the Hilton. Ya dig? Another thing- The bathrooms are FUNKAY!!!  you could smell shit all the way to the BAR when we started to leave I had to get my cousin in the Bathroom and what did I find? 2  girls peeing ... right on the floor.. I thought to myself.. I've seen this done in third world countries, WHEN CAMPING, but not in a club in WALNUT CREEK!  it was just PURE NASTY!
LAST BUT NOT LEAST.. its fudged up because at exactly 1:30 they turn on the lights..and when you walk outside .. all the WALNUT CREEK COPS are parked right in front  waiting for people like the dumb stanky broads that pee'd on the floor.. IT ALMOST feels like a set up!  Sorry Folks, DJ messed up Several times, BATHROOMS are disgusting, COVER CHARGE FOR WHAT???!!! toilet paper?? My opinion- This would be a trailer Trash heaven for a club.

This place seems like they're trying way to too hard to be an "Ultra Lounge".  The decor and furniture is cheap and cheesy.  I do like that there is an outside patio at the front of the venue.  It's the more chill area to kick back, smoke a cigarette, with a view of the street. I just wish the patio area was bigger.  Overall, this is not my kind of scene, or my crowd, or taste in music.

Eww Spin will never replace Slates the hot spot of Walnut Creek. It degrades each year worse & worse.

My friend wanted to go out one night so I let her do all the choosing. I usually go out in San Francisco so when she told me that we were going to a club in Walnut Creek I was a little skeptical. Oh man..

We got there at 10pm because we were eating next door. I should have known it was going to be bad when there were still no one there around an hour later. Since there were no people, the dj wouldn't play any current music- all 80s and unfavorable dance music. Around midnight there was about 30 people and it was people between the ages of 25-35.. I felt really uncomfortable. This kind of puts a bad taste in my mouth when people ask me to go to clubs in Walnut Creek. My friend and I left early that night.. but not before she danced with the security guard for a bit.

The one star I'm giving this place goes to our friendly cocktail waitress (who also happened to be a friend of a friend). Other than that, this place blows.

Here's the thing. You open up an "ultra lounge" in Walnut Creek, you have no excuse for it to be tacky, smelly, dirty, ghetto or in any way offensive to the type of clientele you want to be bringing in. Well...apparently Spin didn't get that memo, because there we were on a Friday night (against my better judgment) in a VIP seating area no less, and I was not only less than impressed, I was kind of horrified by how tacky this place was.

We paid $500 for two bottles and sat in the laughably un-plush VIP area (where we were the only guests). Not only did the pleather seats stick to our legs, and  the DJ's crappy smoke machine (hello, the 90's called...) blow smoke into our faces all night, but our bottle service (did I mentioned we paid $500 for that?!) came in a PLASTIC ice container and the stairs leading up to our area were so dark and poorly built, that at least three of our guests took nose dives down the stairs before we had a chance to even get tipsy...yours truly being one of them. Oh...and forget dancing...not only was the crowd a group of people they obviously bussed in from douchebagville and hotown (the other locals were apparently already wise to this craptastic place), but even if you wanted to dance, the DJ only played a song for like ten seconds before switching to something else, which made me feel like I had music ADD. And the bathrooms. Don't even get me started. Only two tiny stalls and one microscopic mirror. Can you say clausterphobic?! I couldn't pee fast enough to get the hell out of there.

And to top off our fabulously unfabulous evening, they thanked us for our patronage by charging us for a third bottle we never bought nor received. The owner has been a complete asshole about refunding the money (even though our cocktail waitress agreed that we had never gotten a third bottle).

Long story short...do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. You want to dance? Take Bart into the city, or wait until this place changes hands again...with this kind of service, it wont be in business very much longer.

How come it seems like every time this place changes it's name/ownership, the crap factor goes up? And what's with the "gourmet pizza" schtick?

I hadn't been here in a while, came the other night upon the suggestion of some friends and thought it would be semi-okay since I have had some good times here way back when.

PS. I am barely 25 so "way back when" was only about 2-3 years ago...that makes it even more sad that this place is so horrible...

No cover since we arrived a little early, 10:45ish. As soon as I walked in I could see why...

    1) Crowd-Surrounded by gross guidos and their version of arm candy, which might I say, isn't very pretty. I think my shoes may have cost more than the outfits I saw...

    2) Hot as a MO-FO! The industrial fan at the end of the bar encrusted with lint was real classy.

    3) They actually pay security guards to velvet rope guard their shoebox sized EMPTY dance floor.

    4) Every wannabe "french chic" print they had hanging on the walls was crooked. Take some dang pride in your establishment for goodness sake!

    5) The 'VIP" section looked like one big drywall and enamel mistake surrounded by cheap looking so called "posh" pin-tucked pleather walls...if your gonna spend money trying to look like a big time SF or Vegas club then my advice is to ACTUALLY SPEND MONEY. Don't believe them when they say "it all looks the same..."

All in all, a true disappointment. So sad to see an establishment go so downhill, what used to be a decent place to get a drink and dance without having to trek to all the way to SF, is now simply a New York Pizza with black lights and and DJ. Although  I think the crowd at New York Pizza may be a few steps above.

I'm actually surprised that this place wasn't awful

A ten dollar cover also surprised me, it may have been that it was thurs, because I've heard they have a really high cover other nights.

This night they had nice bouncers and a good area outside to sit, but it got really busy not more than an hour later after I left and walked by again.

What wasn't so great was that the music was really loud in the small dance area, almost making me ill because of the boom. They also didn't tell people there was a private party taking up the whole back area, which I could see people getting annoyed with if they paid their money and wanted to dance.

I'd probably come back, but earlier to avoid the crush.

Mason the bartender was GREAT!!  I wanted to let the manager know that he was cool, but they don't have a website???  Anyhoo, we had quite a few drinkers and a couple of designated drivers, and all were treated with respect and consideration by Mason.  This is rare, since most people who aren't buying alcoholic drinks usually get treated like 5th class citizens.

The place was a disappointment, though.  $10 to get in when we had a group of 8 ladies...and it wasn't even packed in there (which, incidentally, was nice).  The clientele was run-of-the-mill, smoking in the outside patio made me nauseaus.

I'd likely not go back if I had to pay cover, but props again to Mason!

This used to be the "IT" place to go to on Thursday nights! Never had to pay the 'entrance fee' because I always sign up on the FREE guestlist. I would highly suggest this, so look around online and you'll find one, guaranteed! The cash bar is new to me, unless they've recently changed this. Never had any problems with that. The drinks are decently priced in my opinion, so won't knock that.

My beef with this place though, is that when it hits capacity, its like a fricken' sauna! EW!! Absolutely no ventilation on or near the dance floor. And if you're lucky to find a fan to stand next to, its usually warm air thats blowing right back on you. Ugh! I always leave drenched in sweat!

Aaaand, its such a hassle to sit out on the patio. Security monitors how many ppl are out there, so I've waited at LEAST 15 mins to sit outside to cool off.

Last, but not least, there are only 2 stalls in the women's bathroom, so the line goes all the way past the bar almost right onto the dance floor on really busy nights. So plan accordingly.

Glad I didn't end up paying the cover because if I had I would say it's not worth it. Cash only at the bar and the ATM machine's broken AND there's no in-and-out "privileges"...I was left feeling a little defeated, but one cannot complain when the DJ is surprisingly great (considering no one in there could dance - seriously, lmao!) and the place isn't annoyingly packed. I might go back, but like I said, you might feel like it's not worth your while.

True, the $10 cover is not worth it but most of the time, as with all other clubs and lounges, ladies won't have to pay. Its decently sized and has an outdoor area for smoking. I came here on a Thursday night out on a whim with my cousin and a few Sex on the Beaches and Chocolate Cakes later, we were up on stage backin' it up! The DJ's recognized her and were taking our requests all night long! It was funny seeing a group of valley girls standing there complaining and trying their best to dance to "Back Dat A$$ Up", "Tell Me When To Go", and "Blow The Whistle"! I was LMAO the entire night!

The club is way small but I'd still rather go here than Crogan's.  They  also charge $10 for cover.  Totally not worth it.  It's better to get in when you know people that know people.

Anyway, the music is decent and the drinks are strong, I must say.   It's a fun enough place to hang out if you want to stay in the Dub-C.

Went there with a few girlfriends on a Thursday night.  One girlfriend knew a guy who worked there, so we got in free with wristbands to the VIP booth.  No mojitos were made here though, but many bars don't carry mint leaves.  Some guys bought us shots, and it was pleasantly brought to us by the little hostess.  Had a blast dancing on top of the booths.  This club is much smaller than Aura, but good enough for WC.  Music was alright; although it stopped playing around midnight due to some altercation.  By then, we were getting ready to leave anyway (feet were ouchie).  Overall, had a good time!

UM? they call this a CLUB. yeah no.. i have been here twice and both time i didn't have that great of time! to many WOMEN!  then you have to pay $10 to get in?  I rather go down the street. The bartenders are nice but its not worth it. They also have go go dancer but they are not that classy... but they do sell pizza there so i have seen, but i wouldn't eat anything from this place...

Very easy to find, just look for all the skanks and douchebags trying too hard and follow.  Drinks are weak and expensive, the dance floor is small and too packed, VIP is open to everyone and smells like ass and vomit.  And why does everyone in this place think they are cooler than they?  My favorite part about Spin is leaving.

Went there on a Saturday night and didn't find the place to bad. It wasn't that crowded which means a lot since the place isn't really big so there was open room to stand in the back which was a relief since it didn't look appealing to get to the crowded, dirty looking, I might catch something dance floor.
When some friends tried to go to the patio for a smoke the security on the other side tried holding the door closed, either implying that the patio was full (even though there were 7 people there) or he just bored and wanted to play a game of try and hold the door closed while other people open it.
I didn't bother to go into the bathroom because it looked dirty from the outside, plus they are exactly across from the bar. Since the space between the bathroom and bar is 3 1/2 people apart, it gets pretty crowded trying to walk in there.
Music and drinks seemed normal, nothing really special. I just have a problem with paying $10 in Walnut Creek, Well paying any price for Walnut Creek. I go to Walnut Creek because i don't feel like driving to SF and paying $20.
I don't know, i might go here again but if i do it'll be because someone else wants to and I got nothing to do and I found $10 on the floor and the line isn't long and it's not crowded inside. until all those events happen at the same time, I'll check out another place

I like Thursday nights, they have a free guest list at <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.surrealsf.com&s=b11321dd6feb5360712afc6e2fac1707c4548acb333977897ffc605f3baea4ce" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.surrealsf.com</a>. It does get a little too crowded after midnight. I wouldn't waste my $20 on the cover Saturday nights. The people who go seem to be in their early 20's to mid 30's. Fun place to go dance with the girls, some guys can be a bit pushy. I wouldn't go there to find a guy who's husband material.

Line is long so you're better off to get there before 10:30 and wait in the empty club.

there are two places you don't want to hang out at as walnut creek nightlife goes and this is one of them.

i can't see how anyone would want to wait in the line outside and pay the ridiculous cover at the door to go to spin. working across the street for over 6 years i have seen the many changes at this location and it really hasn't been pretty. the people who go to spin are the people i really don't want to be around and the people that work there think they are gods gift to the club. it just seems like a waste of time unless you are looking for that perfect shank or douche of your dreams.

i just never understood why people make the drive to walnut creek for this place. sure a night out in the city can be a hassle but you can do so much better than these cheesy clubs. maybe i'm just getting old but i do know i don't have good time in those places and i'm never going to find the girl of my dreams in that kind of place. i know my best friend is out there and she has much better taste than wasting her time at spin.

I think I can safely say that I'm a Walnut Creek girl. I'm not too crazy to drive over the bridge for a night out of fun so when I first discovered Spin Ultra Lounge I was ecstatic. Especially thursday nights, the people were hot (yet I must say some very skanky), I've made friends with the bouncers, promoters, and bartenders, basically living easy in "the walnut creek life". I always have had a lot of fun at this lounge until my birthday this past summer. I paid a few hundred for a VIP table so that me and my friends can have an area for sitting and everyone was taken care of from the $10 cover, plus a bottle of grey goose. OHHH let me tell you what a nightmare my birthday ended up being.... First, they made us change tables in the middle of the night stating they sat us at the wrong table because "special people" were coming in to sit there, when no one even showed up, so me and my 8 friends were crammed in a 5-6 person seating area. We had people reaching over our table stealing our bottle of alcohol (we let security know and they did nothing to comp us nor discipline the people taking our drinks). They were completely unorganized! They never gave us wristbands because they couldn't find them and basically let whoever up into VIP when I paid money for it to be exclusive. AND when me and my friends decided to go to the dance floor to dance and come back up to our table they didn't let us back up because they said we didn't have wristbands... which no one was wearing wristbands!!! I flipped and said you better let me back up I paid money for that stupid table! The worst part of my birthday night was that me and my friend were dancing having a good time in VIP when some random guy came up and hit my friend in the face because we bumped into him or somehow got in his way. First off what guy hits a girl? Second off what did security do? Security didn't do much but just boot him out but never reported the guy to the police. I tried to get my money back and the head promoter said 50 bucks off when I paid like three hundred dollars. Me and my friends had it with that place when they couldn't comp our evening.

So Basically Spin Ultra Lounge really isn't that cool of a place to go to. It's always hot, sticky and stinky. My favorite promoter is gone, and so are the pretty people he brought in with him. The bouncers are so unpredictable, one day they're nice the next day they have the "god complex" everyone here keeps talking about.

Only reason why I'd come? BOREDOM and have no where else to go.

Plus the cute bartender that's always so good to me. :)

If you enjoy being treated and herded like an animal, drinks spilled all over you, elbows in your back on the floor, and arrogant bouncers, have at it.
I could tolerate this if it were the only place to dance for 100 miles, because there aren't enough dance venues... except... more than one person I know has had something slipped in their drink there.

Also, holy fake tits on the 20 somethings! Whoa ladies, who are you kidding? And to the dudes with the unbuttoned oxford shirts... kill some of that cologne, you stink.

Why oh why do all of my friends want to have their B-day parties here.. F@ck I hate this place. Heres Why:
Vip area : Dirty and smells like musty ass. It's not really vip they let anyone in. If you have bottle service do not plan on your table being bussed all night. That is unless you buy another bottle and "ASK" for your table to be cleaned!

Bathrooms: Might as well be port-a-potty so gross and both sinks were broken even in the mens room. Meaning no one was washing their hands.
Crowd: Wannabe sombody not sure who. Looks like alot of underage people getting in.
Bouncers: Very rude I thought you were supposed to welcome your guests.
    Drinks: Overpriced and watered down.

Please friends NO MORE b-day parties here Please

I went there with a couple of friends on a Saturday night and we had an ok time. It's more of a jumping off location rather than some place to stay and dance the night away.

Music/Dancing: The DJs were pretty good that night, mixed all of the Top 40 hits that people would want to hear in the club.

Layout: One small entry area, one dance room in the back and an outside patio. It's more rectangular and narrow than square and open, which lead to a lot of congestion everywhere. The place gets REALLY crowded after 10:30PM, so much so that you're having to fight your way through the front bar area just to get to the dance floor. Not fun if there's drunk a-holes who think they're suave trying to hit on you and you can't just walk away.

I didn't go to the restroom, but my man was complaining about the men's restroom having only ONE stall and no working urinals. That's really pathetic people. You'd expect it for a women's bathroom in a club but for the men that's a little ridiculous.

Staff: The bartenders were really nice and we didn't have to wait in line for long at all. Quick service and good drinks were a plus. Security was ok although I didn't really interact with them much.

"Scenery": If you're single and ready to mingle this place is the place to go. Lots of pretty good looking people all around. There's a small amount of trolls and skanks, but hey, what club doesn't have them? And if that's what you're into, you'll find some there too =)

Cover: $10 BUT if you come before 9:30pm and eat some pizza (which is pretty darn good) they waive the cover. Don't pig out on the bread sticks though unless you have some gum or breath mints. They are LOADED with salt and garlic.

In summary, it's a good place to get the night started with great music and drinks, but I can't stress enough that when it starts to get crowded it's really time to move on to another bar. Otherwise you'll get swallowed up by the crowd.

I have no idea how the pizza is, but hey, it's pizza.  Can it really be that bad?

However, the "Ultra Lounge" part is what we're here to discuss today, kids.

Well, it's not really a "lounge" as most of the music is Get-Up-And-Dance and there's not many places to sit.  But this place is probably one of my favorite places in the East Bay and may even rival a few SF spots.

On a Thursday night this place has a great, diverse crowd without the meat market feel of a lot of the East Bay places.  It's a lot of groups of friends who know each other and go there to just have fun.  The crowd is probably all under 30 years old but they know how to have a good time and they play well with others.

The bouncers are your standard meatheads with a God complex, but they're good at staying out of the way and don't get overly pushy and it's expected at most clubs.

The bar staff is where this place really shines.  They have a great alcohol selection (Not just Grey Goose and Bombay Sapphire) and the bar is well staffed and friendly even as the club gets busy.  Every time i went up for a drink I didn't have to wait more than 30 seconds to put in my order.

The DJ talent is top-notch and you won't even know that you're not in SF once the music starts.

Being a syndicated alcohol/spirits writer, I'm pretty picky when it comes to the full bar or club experience, but Spin has, so far, gotten it right and I always look forward to my next visit.

ummm.. sooo i hope this place isn't representative of walnut creek night life.. because.. it sucks.

some friends and i went here after going to happy hour at pyramid brewery across the street. we just wanted to see how walnut creek does it. mozied it at around 915-930pm. no crowd.. duh. no cover. they were just setting up.

we got some drinks that tasted like pure alcohol. the music started bumping.. and by bumping i mean not in the cool way. they played the annoying radio type music. when 10pm came rollin around girls came strollin in wearing clothes that made me feel cold in my jeans and sweater. keep in mind.. my friends and i aren't old farts (we're in our early 20s).. we just have good taste in music and clothing for that matter.

30 minutes was an ample amount of time to give this place.. so we headed out the door. we were greated by a long line waiting to pay a cover.. at least we saved some money.

Spin is too small a venue for all the night creatures in the east bay looking to party. Such a long line, and for nothing. Probably because the bouncers are trying to give you a pop quiz about your age

if youre from the east bay, then you know there isnt much of a night life. so if youre lookin to party, just head to the city.

Came here straight from Havana restaurant on Saturday night.  Basically just walked here because it was only one block away.

Kinda surprised there was a line.  Something I wasn't expecting in Walnut Creek.  The bouncer checking ID was seriously anal.  He literally tested my age.  Yes, my ID says I'm 22.

    Bouncer:  How old are you?!
    Me:  22.
    Bouncer:  Are you 23?
    Me:  No. I'm 22.
    Bouncer:  Are you 18?
    Me:  No.
    Bouncer:  Are you 17?
    Me.  No, I'm 22!!!!!
    Bouncer:  Are you 22?
Me:  Didn't I just say that?!?!

WTH, that's NOT a strategy!!!  HAHAHA.  Then he had the nerve to test my best friend (who was behind me in line) her birthday backwards.  I couldn't figure out which was worst... how he asked me or how he asked my best friend.

$10 cover charge.  Kinda "classy" dress code.  Very tiny place.  Some stage dancing for VIPs?  A mini two-level area.  Music was on repeat--I heard the same song like 4 times that night.  2 stall bathrooms.  Bouncer near the sliding door of the outside patio.  DJ had fog w/ techno/rave lights.  For such a tiny place, I managed to lose my friends in the crowd for a quick minute or two.  And at the end of the night, came home with ringing ears because the music was on BLAST!

Still had a good time considering it was in Walnut Creek.  I don't think I would've had that much fun if it wasn't for my friends and the mojitos.  =)

The things that are cool about this place are the dj's, music, convenience and the photographers.  Other than that, it is not all that.  The atmosphere is OK.  The people are OK.  And, we tried to get a VIP table and it was liek $600 for a garbage table.  My friends were going to pay it and I said no cuz it's cheaper to get a VIP table at much nicer clubs.  I only went because my friends were working that night.

Went to dinner at 1515 (down the block next street over) and met two girls that asked me to go with them to Spin afterwards.,, not trying to imply anything happened - because it didn't.

But walking there we noticed Crogan's had a line of guys (what is the dealio with those striped shirts?) waiting outside in the cold. Just so odd...

Drinks were ok, staff was friendly, $10 cover, and mens bathroom has odd angle in mirror so others can see you draining the proverbial lizard.

Honestly, this place is a little to pretenious for not being in San Francisco, not even being in Sacto. Not often have i ever been turned away from a club, nor have I been told to go back to the end of the line like a joke. ( Honestly, This place has some seriously overtly pretenious hosts or promoters...)

I'm an old school clubber...but the security, the vibe, the crowd, made me almost feel like I knew nothing about clubbing. Security wasn't the crowd I'm used to, the line was a pain in the ass, and the rain didn't help.

Two tips that have helped me the few time's I've been here. One, pay five dollars for the parking lot at the end of the street, it will save you time and hassle. Two, come here early on an event that is promoted because this place is so small, that even keebler elves woule feel crampted.

The only redeeming quality about this place is that there is a great pizza joint across the way from it. After going to this "club" go to the pizza joint, with the new group of friends you just made, they will love you. This club is not worth going to if you expect the sf or sacto scene.....NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!!

Spin is like Wheel of Fortune. You take your turn at the wheel and, sure, sometimes you end up with a brand new car but usually you end up bankrupt just when you think it's going good.

I love the bartenders at Spin (especially that one). I love the bouncers at Spin. The crapshot is the crowd. The best night I went was a Friday when there was a record release party. The worst night I went was a Friday when there were lots of tall, drunk, cokeheads. The most ambivalent night I had was a Saturday, where lots of drinks, and lots of friends, made it worthwhile.

When it's good, it rocks. The crowd's diverse, enough attractive people of both sexes are there to keep it entertaining, and there's generally good music. When it's bad, it would be more entertaining and worthwhile to listen to crickets. Like any club, it all depends on the promoter of the evening.

HATE IT! Overly priced drinks ($10 Grey goose) so packed full of people that i felt like i was in a sauna that was in a sardine can, VIP is far from VIP they will let any girl a little outfit in, very snobbish people, 40 something year old men in shirts that are waaaaay too tight trying to be 20 something, bleach blond bimbos wearing Tiffany's carrying fake coach bags, basically the epitome of how people would look and act if they were trying to be "L.A"...rude bouncer (altho there is a GREAT bartender named erin...shes tall and awesome)

Okay, if this joint changes their name one more time, I'm going to freaking scream. And it wouldn't be the first time because although I may avoid this place like the plague, I consistently find my drunken self stumbling in against my will considering its the only place similar to a club without having to pay toll or worry about your safety. So, once my vision refocuses I realize I'm in Spin after i get passed either the Way Too Friendly Security Guard (eww.) or the Small-Man Syndrome Asshole Security Guard and fork over $10.00. Once inside, I find the familar pasty pale "Go-Go Dancers" trotting around off beat on their 5 feet platform boots to the country version of "I Love Rock N' Roll" if that version even exists (and if you think it didn't this place probably has the only version ever released). And don't worry, they got your back on the old-school Michael Jackson which they seem to rotate on their mix-CD quite often.

Crowd consists of dorky guys, maaaybe a few decent ones with your typical overdressed girls that think we're on The Hills or something (gotta love WC). I guess this place would be awesome for that kind of crowd that kinda jumps around to music while wailing their hair around, doesn't mind dropping $7-8.00 on a miniature mixed drink, and seeing creepy old people who are probably hiding their affairs from their rich husbands/wives- you get what I'm trying to say. The last time I was here, I almost got in a fight with some over confident girl who thought I wouldn't repeat myself. My BF came through a few weeks ago and had some problems with the Security Guards trying to kick them out because they thought that this one tall black dude was looking at them funny and they didn't want them to have problems....UM, HE CAME WITH THEM STUPID ASSES! And on Halloween, my homegirl had a little tussle with a random girl for who knows why. So, i don't really know what that says about me and my company, but I know that a club in Walnut Creek doesn't seem right anyhow.

If you're looking for a real club, just make the trip to the bay area. Save yourself energy and quite possibly a fight.

Why are all shitty clubs disguised as pizza places?  City Nights, Spin 'Ultra Lounge'...

A friend of mine just turned 21, and decided this was the place to go for her birthday.   I never had any desire to find the club that I heard was in Walnut Creek, but here I was being dragged to it.

We get there, and the doorman is this big guy I went to high school, with which was random, and then the next security guard I see is another big guy I went to high school with!  I didn't even go to high school in Walnut Creek!  But it seems like everywhere I go turns into a big ole reunion.

Got in, was introduced to my friend's boyfriend's friends and their friends and their friend's friends.  There were a lot of people there.  I grabbed myself a very mediocre gin and tonic and sat at one of the tables waiting for the rest of my friends to get drinks.  Birthday girl and her man went and danced while the rest of us made fun of the girls dancing on the TV's by the bar.  While waiting for them to come back, I ordered the SALTIEST dry Gin martini I have ever had... Gin martini's don't have salt.  They have Gin, Vermouth, and a couple olives.  This girl salted the rim, and it tasted like she substituted the gin for salt as well.  SO GROSS!  I went back to the bar and made the girl trade me for a Gin and Tonic.

Basically, this place was weird and crappy.  Bad drinks, fatties in skimpy dresses, not my kind of music (can I hold that against them?),  and the entire population of CCC douche bags were there. Actually, only half, because the other half were at Crogan's. I found that out later.

I've been here on a Thursday, Friday & Saturday before; I usually stay local when I don't feel like heading into the city.
I've always had a good time when I've come here; I don't like how they remodeled spin now since they took away from the dance floor but  they put in some stage areas. The name keeps on changing like crazy from Abernathy's, Groove, Echo & now Spin.
They usually don't open the dance floor till 11pm sometimes 11:30pm.
VIP is cheap, this place is all young locals; people who want to get really messed up and dance; definitely a meat market guys non-stop DON"T stop. The bartenders are nice & you can get your drink pretty quick.
Like I said I have fun with my friends.
**Beware of the cops here since it's downtown they are swarming everywhere! If you drink & drive you're guaranteed to get a DUI.

usually not my type of place..  too trendy; fake girls who won't talk to anyone and a bunch of meatheads who think their cooler then they really are (but isn't that all of walnut creek, eh?)..

but they have a happy hour and got some world class pizza.  The pizza dude is hosted on TV and just won the world pizza contest for the USA.

They have live music during the week sometime until they open the club.

I'm not too trendy and don't like the typical WC scene, so I usually leave once the club opens up, but this place is pretty damn cool :)

I love Spin!!! The VIP is totally reasonable for large groups and totally worth it. I go there on weekends and it's got a good crowd. A decent looking crowd too. The music is good and the dancefloor is usually crowded. The bartenders are pretty quick, I have never had to wait too long for a drink. If you're not smoking, you're not going to get on the patio... they will kick you out pretty quick. The bouncers are cool, I've gotten on a good level with most of them after visiting the place a few times. Parking is a bitch, so take a cab if you can. The cover is $10 and there is a line if you get there late. I go to Spin often and have never had a bad time there!
