This place rocks! A great third place close to home. We were actually headed to the Happ but noticed Stormy's when we parked. Upon walking in the place was packed, adults and families. Grabbed two seats at the bar. The wife orders a fat tire and I ordered a smithwick. Person brings me the smithwick and says the tap just ran out so I can have that one on the house. He gives me a sample of another beer on tap that he recommends and I get one of those too. I am not in this joint five minutes and already I'm digging it.
Plenty of sports on the TV this night, bulls, sox, cubs, hawks. A real interesting and lively mix of folks on a Friday night. Some guy has a hair helmut that I never quite get over. The best way to describe it is  darth vader helmut but gray.
For food we order the nachos and the parm garlic wings. Both do the trick and do not disappoint. Prices are reasonable, much more so than I expected given it's location.
Way to go Stormy's, we will be back.

I came here with a friend for some food and a drink after work on a Thursday. Oddly, I had trouble finding a parking spot (there's a lot in back of the place).

The inside looks kinda like a log cabin. Lots of paneled wood. Everywhere.

We walked in and weren't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves. The bar was to the right and a restaurant-y seating area is to the left, in a separate room. We decided to just seat ourselves.

The waitress came over with menus and took our drink order fairly quickly. To start, we had potato chips with Parmesan cheese. Wow, I expected the chips to be sprinkled with the cheese, but this was like we had ordered nachos - just with Parmesan cheese. I will say that they give you a good amount, but it was so heavy and greasy that we could only eat a small portion of it.

Moving on to dinner, I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap that came with fries. The wrap was OK, but it was definitely lacking buffalo sauce. I thought there would be a lot of it, but there was barely a brunched on amount. My friend ordered a Ruben, which she says was pretty good. Each of us only ate half our dinner, taking the rest home for the next day's lunch.

Our waitress was really sweet and helpful, and was good about checking on us. We did stick around for a while, talking and catching up, and i never felt rushed to leave. It wasn't that busy when we arrived around 6, but by the time we left at 8:30, it was getting pretty packed with college-aged kids and families, which surprised me.

I would go back, but next time I think I'll try the pizza and steer clear of the sandwiches.

I've been thru the transition fro the sports dive bar Seuls where the meat eaters pizza included a rat topping I'm convinced... to newly christened Stormy's where more than the interior had been renovated. Still a great sports bar with plenty of flat screen TVs at best angles. Food? One thing I'm a connoisseur of is pizza- and Stormy's turns out one of the best pies on the North Shore. New owners- Pete's best known to me- work their butts off and check in with customers to make sure all's well. It's become my hangout of choice to watch sports, enjoy great pizza and service with my peeps on the North Shore.

Stormy's has been open now for about 1 year after a face lift renovation and a good scrubbing of the walls.  Known as a local watering hole for North Shore alcoholics who are too lazy to stray far from home.  It used to also be a place where you could get a decent meal as well. Not anymore.

I ordered my usual meal of ribeye steak sandwich cooked medium and a small 10" pizza with green pepper, mushroom, onion, and sausage.

The ribeye sandwich came out very rare (cold raw center) which really shows the caliber of cook behind the grill.  When a steak is cut to 1/4" thickness even a novice cook would have at least a 70% chance of cooking it to order. Again, this is a local tavern not 5 star dining so I already have held them to the proper expectation. Unfortunately, the bar was still set too high.

The pizza was inedible.  The crust was dense and burnt badly, I honestly thought there was a chance that I might lose some dental work if I continued.  Meanwhile the green pepper/mushroom/onion was nearly raw.  Thankfully the sausage was precooked before topping the pizza or I could have been impregnated by some pork virus that would have germinated in my bowels.

Mind you this meal occurred at 6:20 pm and we were presently the ONLY food service for the tavern (a family of four left as we came in not a single one of them smiling -- In hindsight I suspect that they weren't happy with the food either).  God help this establishment if they actually had a dinner rush.  If tonight was any indication of standards of this restaurant, a dinner rush will be the last thing they need to worry about.

Before leaving I went to the bathroom and saw into the kitchen -- there stood a lone cook checking his iphone -- I had to wonder if he was looking up websites on how to cook as he obviously has no business running a kitchen --  If I ran a soup kitchen in the city I would hope to employ better cooks.  I am fairly certain, based on his performance tonight, that he is likely untrainable in this capacity and should being using his iphone to call on vocations outside of the food service industry....or at least jobs where he isnt endangering the lives of other people.

A note on Service:  The waitress was polite however she lacked a basic understanding of customer service.  Specifically when she asked how the pizza was I politely told her it was awful and why I felt that way.  She simply said that she was sorry that they have been having complaints because she believes the oven is off.  She concluded with "I hope you come back and dine with us soon"  -- dine with you soon?  Are you kidding me?  I could have stayed home and made a Boboli and it would have been immeasurably better.  I might have considered giving this one last shot since it is local had some gesture been made to make up for such an awful meal.

Terrible food is not the waitresses fault -- but to expect the customer to pay for a sub par meal after admitting so much is just not good business.

Bottom line -- go to Stormy's if you want a drink (at least that comes prepared in a bottle) but don't order the food.  If you need something to eat walk across the street and go to UDawg -- at least they can cook and the owner is always putting the customer first.

The food was okay, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.  They forgot to bring my husbands salad and had to remake his sandwich three times and still didn't get the order right - we finally gave up.

This is the place in Northfield that kids who graduated from NTHS or Loyola go when they are home for college breaks, or after they graduate college.  I was surprised to see so many young faces, and also disappointed that I am no longer a young face.

There were also a couple old faces, really old faces.  Or maybe they just looked old from a long hard life of long hard drankin'.

I'd rather have a few drinks down the road in The Glen or at The Happ Inn, literally right down the road.

Stormy's is truly the neighborhood bar/restaurant where everyone knows your name. The staff is friendly and attentive to everyone who walks in the door. The pizza is out of this world and food consistently satisfying. I highly recommend checking out the sunday BBQ cooked by Ziers in Wilmette. The North Shore could use more establishments like this!

Awesome on every level. Home made soups are terrific and a great pour at the bar.

They really did a nice job of updating Seuls without losing its soul.  The beer menu  has been expanded and you can now get Bells, Daisy Cutter. Plus wifi now.

The real deal here is the food, which is a couple of notches above average pub grub.  The soups especially are just fantastic: Home made and filling.

For the most part the service is good.  I have had a couple of instances where that is not the case, and been made to feel as if it were a private party where i was not invited, but this is in the minority.

I went here the other night while visiting some friends in the suburbs, Stormy's is a pretty standard sports bar with tvs, beer and a variety of bar food.

Pros: the bar has tinted windows, for drinking on the sly

Cons: we got the nachos, and there was literally no cheese. A plate of chips and lettuce, it was actually kind of confusing.

Bottom line: oh, I'll be back

Stopped near this neighborhood to see my relatives. Asked them if they knew of a good place for lunch. They recommended Stormy's.

This "Pub"  has comfortable decor and you feel welcome and cozy here.. Wife and I took a sit at the wrap around bar. Lots of TV's, Bartenders where friendly. Absolut Bloody Mary's on special for $5.25. Two please!  They're great. Topped with Guinness. Yum. Had the Reuben with sweet potato fries and recommended fresh horseradish from the bar tender. it was great!  One of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Wife had the 10" pizza " I must state she did not finish it" she said it was very good. The Owner ( I think his name is Charlie) came up to us and asked us if everything was ok. Nice touch. You don't get that attention anymore in other "pubs".
All in all cozy atmosphere, great Bloody Mary's, outstanding Reuben sandwiches This place might be packed on St. Patrick's day just because of the Reuben's. Would recommend and would be back when in the area.
