Meh.  Fancied-up version of Pita Inn. Food was a-ok, nothing outstanding. Go to Pita Inn for equally (if not better) yummy food and cheaper prices.

While at the salon, the owner was pushing this place to us saying it's awesomer than Pita Inn, so we decided to take out from here a week ago.

We tried to order the combination plate and a half and half (chicken and beef) shawarma entree along with a large hummus.

My husband picked up and to our surprise they gave us a chicken shawarma entree and a beef shawarma entree. 1 star off for effing up our order.

The meats and rice that came underneath were pretty gosh darn bland. And the sauces didn't help much either.  And the hummus- it had some kinda weird effect on your tongue... once you try it, it has this weird effervescence-like effect where it feels like it's either tart and tingly or something... hard to describe but it was not normal. 1 star off for bland and 1 star off for weirdness.

I dunno, there is nothing wrong with the other Mediterranean places around here. Maybe we went on an off day. I'd be up for trying it again, sans hummus next time though.

I always try my best to go out and support Assyrian owned restaurants, and if I end up liking the food then even better! Larsa's is still the best place for me, but this comes close because of the cheaper prices.

The restaurant itself is nice. I like the area and I like the way they decorated it inside. Plenty of seating available. My only problem was the guy who was standing at the front counter. He was very awkward when we walked in, said hi as if he was suspicious of us, and quietly took our order. I don't know if he was having a bad day or what but it felt a little uncomfortable. Everyone else was nice, though!

We tried both the veggie plate and the combo. The combo was much better than the veggie plate. The meats were delicious and you can tell that they use a good quality meat that is fresh. However, the salad in both the combo plate and veggie plate lacked flavor and I really couldn't finish eating it.  The veggie plate was pretty decent. The baba ghanoosh was very good and so were the falafil. The hummous was pretty basic. Once again, I really did not enjoy the salad. I also wish for the veggie plate they gave a little more bread. Towards the end I just ended up eating spoonfuls of hummous and baba ghanoosh because I didnt have any bread left.

All in all, this is a nice restaurant, with good prices, and better than average middle eastern food. I am pretty excited to try their masgoof next time.
