O'k, this is the place that I used to go to enjoy sushi. I live in Lake Forest and this was the place for me. Today, my cousin and I finally got an hour away from kids and were very excited to go to Sushi Kushi in Lake Forest. When we asked for a table they tried to seat us at the little 1 person table. We asked for another, bigger, regular 4 person table and got the "eye". O'k. So, we ordered tuna salad which we used to love, sushi platter (oozeki sushi), a chainsaw roll (that I am still burping from) and deluxe tempura (probably the safest thing on the menu today). When they brought out the tuna salad - it smelled of rotten fish. My cousin tried a piece before smelling it and almost lost whatever was in her stomach. We called the manager and told her that the tuna smelled bad. She told that "NO", it was great and we should eat it. When we refused, she said that she can bring us a new one, but it will be from the same fish. Nice, huh. We told her - "No, thank you". (by the way, tuna pieces looked to be two colored - light and dark in the same piece, which was suspicious from the beginning). Next, they brought oozeki sushi which also (the tuna on it) looked very weird, AND there was hair on it. We told the manager about hair and she told us that it was probably fiber from the cloth that they cover rice with (like I want to eat that). Basically, all we ended up eating was the tempura and unfortunately the roll (we were hungry). This roll is still upsetting my stomach (would not you know - the main ingredient in this roll is TUNA). We did drink sake to kill all germs, but still not a very happy experience. AND I USED to Love this place. This sucks!!!
Review Source:I just went to Sushi Kushi the other night for the first time. Â It was pretty busy for a Saturday night, but we sat at the bar and were served right away. Â The staff here is very friendly and always filling up your water when you get low. Â I ordered two rolls. Â The Moon River and the Submarine. Â The Moos River was delicious! One of the best rolls I have ever had. Â The Submarine was very good as well. Â My boyfriend who doesn't really even like Sushi, liked the rolls here. Â My boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki. Â He liked it, but has had better. Â I would for sure go back here to try out more and more of their rolls. Â Loved it!
