Kori Sushi & Thai

I make regular visits to Kori--I like that they have Thai & Japanese, two of my favorite cuisines, so I don't have to decide which I want before I go!  We usually get veggie tempura and maki.  I love their crazy potato roll which has a bit of cream cheese & jalapeno.  I've also had their fried rice and Thai curry dishes in the past and am always pleased.  Love the dressing that comes on the salad.

Clean place, very nice atmosphere.  Bathroom is impeccable...my son & I call it the "nightclub" bathroom, because the lights are low and the music is loud (in the bathroom, the restaurant is "normal").

They always bring a lidded cup for my 5 year old, and are very friendly.

There are some core dishes in the Thai arena that let you know if a place is good or stellar. Well, the Thai takeout was just okay.

First, the Pad Thai. Pad Thai is not my favorite dish in general. But it does let you know what you're in store for. The pad Thai was marginal at best here. Exceedingly sweet. And very bland spice wise. Even my husband didn't like it. And that's saying a lot.

The green curry was good and spicy. They didn't skimp on the tofu which was nice. Not a lot of extras in the sauce as far as veggies or anything. Also, the order came with a tiny box of rice. Really, guys? This order should come with a normal amount of rice. Considering you're a sushi and Thai place, you should have rice coming out your ears!

The order, however, was ready amazingly fast. Paying took a minute -- maybe even less.

So while the curry sauce would have earned three+ stars, the lack of rice and pathetic pad Thai makes it a two-star for Thai takeout.

stopped here a little while back and carried out an order of chicken pad thai and i have to tell you it didn't even taste like thai food...it tasted like bland cantonese food....i know having just one dish to base a review on may not be very fair, however, pad thai is one of those very simple dishes that should be pretty hard to screw up, and my expectations were not very high, but it was so blah i didn't even finish it....i guess i should give them one more chance, but i have to tell you i don't want to go back, sorry
