T Hogan's is my neighborhood bar located just down the street from my house. Â For its convenience alone, I have enjoyed going there - especially on cold winter nights. Â The bar tenders are very friendly, and as I am somewhat of a regular, my drink is always full without me having to say a thing. Â
The beer selection is average, but as long as Yuengling and PBR are on-tap I am pleased. Â Plus, you can't go wrong with these on the price. Â
The food is really good. Â They have a specials board which always has new items. Â The wings are hands down some of the best I've ever had. Â Go on Monday's for 50 cent wings and you will not be disappointed. Â
The only thing keeping this from a 5-star is the atmosphere. Â Recently, it has been really hit or miss. Â Sometimes its really dancy and loud while other times it's quiet and laid-back (which is my preference). Â
Overall, if you are looking for a cheap, neighborhood bar, you can't go wrong with Hogans.
The beer is very cheap by Philly standards, Â it never gets so crowded you cant find a seat, they have a pool table and darts. Â It's everything you could ask for in a local bar. Â The food looks pretty good and they have decent food specials from 7-8pm on weeknights. Â I've only ever had the wings, and I didn't like their signature honey siracha sauce, but the wings were cooked properly other than that. Â I just prefer standard buffalo. Â The staff is super friendly and gave me free cookies once.
The crowd is mixed with all ages, but it is usually not busy even on Saturday nights. Â Just bring your own crew and have a great time. Â They won't kick people out no matter how drunk they are. (There must be a limit somewhere, but I've seen some pretty drunk drunks in here. Â Basically if a person can stand, or sit without falling over, and isn't screaming they can stay.)
