Note: this review is for the beer only, as I haven't had a chance to try the food.  But sampling multiple beers over a 3 night period has given me a very impression of Taco Mac.  Being from Seattle, I never heard of Taco Mac, thus I was pleasantly surprised with the 100 beers on draft as well as another 100 in bottles.  And most of these are very good craft brews.  The only problem is that they turn over beer quickly so you really need to look at the updated list to see what they have that day.  Some of my favorites included Stone Ruination IPA and Sixpoint Resin Imperial IPA.  I wish they would do samplers but they don't.  But you can sample up to 3 beers for free, which isn't bad.  Service can be spotty so I prefer the bar over  the booths.  The food menu didn't look really that exciting, but I will definitely be back for the beer.

Ordered takeout for our hotel.  Got there around 11:30, the order was incomplete and the manager was incredibly rude.  He basically accused my two friends of being drunks and then lied about our order.  Said they had "dropped it on the floor, but would have a replacement ready in three minutes."  When we looked at the receipt, it had never been wrung up and he had to add it.  He didn't realize myself and my two friends were together....one white guy and two black girls. When I asked him what the problem was, he was completely shocked we were together and started trying to suck up to me saying he wasn't accusing ME of being drunk, just the two black girls.  I told him I didn't appreciate the way he was treating them and he couldn't get away from us fast enough.  Pretty sure his name was Mike.  Even the bartender on duty was apologing to us for the way he treated us.
To ice the cake, when we finally got our food--no apology from Mike--we went back to our hotel and the tacos tasted like sawdust.  Used to be a big fan of Taco Mac, but this one pretty much took them off my list.

Consistently slow service but I return just because its Taco Mac and they have a huge variety of beers to choose from. Thankfully I moved recently and have a new Taco Mac.

This will be quick and to the point.

I am a beer snob, so thank god this place had a decent selection of beers that were from local breweries and abroad. That, combined with the the average wings gives this place 3 stars.

No complaints, no praises...it's that easy.

I love Taco Mac in Alpharetta. Almost every kind of beer in the world, TV's all over the place to watch Atlanta teams kick butt in a wide range of sports, great food but especially terrific wings. Their traditional wings are meaty and succulent.  Worked my way up through their several favors of hot sauces on the wings and the Death sauce is awesome. It's their hottest offering and has heat but the peppery flavor is fantastic and prominent. Endorphin kick and a half. Love it. The lettuce wedge with blue cheese is cold, crisp and goes perfect with hot wings.  Saw John Smoltz and his family in there one night partaking of the eats. This is one of my favorite places to eat.

The service is ridiculous! The staff is rude and apparently clueless.  They take their time and never are very customer oriented.  The wings are good: however the service definitely warrants one star !

If you like beer and wings, this is a good place to go.  They literally have hundreds of beers on tap and a cooler full of bottles too.  I like a good mixed drink more than beer, so their selection is lost on me.  If you're like me and like cocktails, you'll be a bit disappointed at their bar selection, but they do have the basics.  No mojitos or specialty martinis.  Again, this is really a beer and wings joint, so I can't really complain.

Indeed the wings are good, especially the Death Sauce wings.  They have a decent amount of heat, but they aren't really HOT.  That being said, they are very flavorful.

The queso dip is good too, but the dip to chip/tortilla ratio is sub par.  They need to increase the amount of dip by at least a factor of two.  If they did, this would be a great app to order.  Otherwise, the value is off.

My wife ordered the salmon burger, which was horrible.  She sent it back for a regular burger which was better, but not awesome.

I suggest sticking to drinks (beer) and wings and you'll be happy.

Great place to have a beer.  Huge selection on draft, and thursday night you get to keep the pint glass if you order the beer of the month.  They have a frequent drinker program called Brewniversity.  You should sign up the first time you are there, because if you live in Atlanta you will come back.

Winward is one of the better Taco Mac's.  They turnover their staff too often. Some are better than others.

The best beer selection in town, great bar food, and the service at this T-Mac is great.

The wings have a good variety of sauces, with death sauce that doesn't play around and the Habenero BBQ, (my fav) with just the right amount of heat and smoky. The fries have an AWESOME seasoning, the sides are fresh, the buffalo wing tacos hit all the right notes with plenty of blue cheese, and the cheese dip is better than most mexican places.

The beer selection is so large it's ridiculous - I think this location has over 300. That's not a  typo, I mean three hundred. Great beer you can't get anywhere else.

But the best part for me is the staff. They're cheerful, friendly, and fast. We're regulars, and now all we do is walk in and they already have a table out for us. Not much else we could ask for, so we make sure to meet here every other week for a Beer Night with friends.

All  I had was wings and beer.  Sometimes that is all you need.  Beer selection is out of this world.  Wings were as good as it gets.  Very nice.  Another person at our table ordered the queso dip.  Once again some of the best I  have ever had.

There is not much more to say.

Service at this one was a little slow for the end of the afternoon, but the lemon pepper wings were cooked to perfection.

I have no idea what it is about Taco Mac, but it seems like they have a company policy of hiring dim-witted servers, unfriendly servers, or both.  It's pretty bizarre.  At this Taco Mac particularly, I would say most of the servers are unfriendly.  Not that their rude, but they come off so "blah" and don't wait on you well.  Food is definitely below average, and the sides are really, really expensive.  That is something else that is pretty weird.  I bumped them up to two stars because I like the whole Brewniversity thing and the dozens and dozens of beer choices.

    Why 4 Stars?

Solely based on the very nice waitress adn the most excellent cheese-steak I've had since the days in Philly

Fresh venison new on the menu!  Rumors are that they are looking to install a drive-thru for the wildlife!

The locals can get a little wild at times, but the venison is the freshest in town -- and the entire menu was under a buck.

Taco Mac used to be the place to go for wings and beer, now it is just the place to go for beer.

My daughter became violently ill from eating one of their burgers and now you can't even eat the wings because they changed the recipe (even after several denials by the server I KNOW the recipe has changed).  The spicy, vinegary, wet wings we used to know and love have been replaced with what tastes like a ketchup based, sweet sauce that is dry.

I'm done.  I need a new wing place.

I came here after work last night having not been to this location in a while.

It was late enough to self seat, which was nice.

The service was actually prompt and she took care of us, and took care of my Brewniversity with out any problems.

This was a nice late night snack- I will be coming back.

Note the food tastes the same at all the locations- which is why I like it too.

I've been to all of the Alpharetta Taco Mac's several times (this one is the better one)... never my own idea. It seems to be just a place my friends happen to like. I'm guessing because there's beer and it's open late??

Really the food is bland, the service is completely mixed... you'll either get a really crap server or a decent one & all of their mixed drinks (that I've tried thus far and I've tried a lot) are barely drink-worthy.

If you're a fan of beer, booze cruises, and inner-tubing, this is probably your sort of place.

for me I avoid it unless strong-armed into going.

This place is what I call bipolar. I love the wings there and that's about the only reason I would go there. If you are a beer person & like sports then I would recommend it.
Aside from that, the waiters here are not very personal. They seem to be 'scrambling' the majority of time. Some of them act like they are too busy to care about you. You have to ask about 10 times for something before they bring it to you. The only thing they bring right away and with a smile is the check... For a tip maybe?

Now I have something to say about this Taco Mac, and it's positive.

Came in with a friend late on Valentine's Day. Just wanted a drink to chill after a rough day at work / long drive to pick up something.

We realized one of us only had an old ID, and while the staff could have given us a hard time, the manager came out and spoke with us and told us he'd let it go this time. Yay for a good end to a stressful day!

Walk into Taco Mac of Alpharetta and had the worst customer service EVER!! We come in and requested a server. While we were talking to the host, a Manager RUDELY interrupted us and commanded us to follow him to be seated. After we were seated and not granting us our request for our server of choice a different server greets us. While I thought the server should be much better then the manager she was EVEN WORST. We address our concern and complaints to this server in a manner where we comfortably spoke our mind using cuss words such as F'ing A'hole. She RUDELY and aggressively DEMANDED us to watch our mouth. I could understand that it wasn't proper to cuss BUT she could have asked us nicely not to and we would of respected her request. She was prejudice toward us treating us like we were kids. Tho we look young, its not right to treat a customer a certain way because you automatically assume we are high school kids. Keep in mind I am a bartender at the age of 28, and my wife is 21. We are not happy and we WILL do something about these 2 individuals.

The staff turns over very frequently here. I almost never see a face I recognize on staff. The service we got today was OK. The server was more interested in trying to get us to buy some $25 pumpkin beer more than actually getting our orders correct. Annoying!

With that said, I really can't knock a place that has gluten free drinks and food too much. They also have just about every beer you can think of here as well.

The food is just ok as well. We got chips and salsa to start out with. The salsa is really spicy, which I love, but some others in our group didn't care for too much. I got the gluten free black bean and shrimp tostada which is a pretty good but it is on the small side for a meal so I was glad I ate a bunch of chips prior to the meal coming out.

I really just wish they would focus on good, consistent service and quit trying to outrageously upsell the customers it's quite annoying! Did I already mention how annoying that is?

Overall, great for groups who want to drink a wide selection of brews and don't care too much about the food.

I like this location a lot...I'm a HUUUUUGE fan of their "death" wings. It's supposed to be the spiciest choice you can get, but it was meh...that is, until I got an extra side of their "death" sauce and then I nearly died of super spicy overload!!

The server had asked if I thought the wings were spicy, and mind you, I can eat to a SPICY SUPER HOT level...after (I think) he saw I was sorta disappointed, he brought be that extra sauce on the side (normally I think they charge for the extra sauce). I'm really glad he did because I'm hooked! AHHH death wings please!!

The selection was nice but I just wish taco mac had descriptions of the beers. Luckily, they do offer free wi-fi, therefore I looked up every beer before I got it (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbeeradvocate.com&s=69ccad0f4f407b7236cbf14861ffdd180a60bf26545e8f72ba757fc3dd7f1354" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://beeradvocate.com</a>, another awesome website).

Overall the experience was a nice one. Our bill totaled up to be around 40 ish bucks...50 after tip. Eeeeek! Kinda pricey, but well worth the trip "once in a while."

Meh, the foods just ok.  The 50 tap beers make up for it, they have some really good hot sauce, but again, its bar food...

This location is very different from other taco mac locations that i've been to around town. It seems to be smaller and much less busy (atleast around lunch time).

My office recently relocated to the Alpharetta area from Perimeter so i was familiar with the staff and atmosphere at the dunwoody taco mac so i guess i was a bit spoiled. This location is exactly the opposite. It is never busy when i'm in there around lunch. Every time i've been there i've been able to walk in and sit down without even slowing down.

The food is as expected and the service is quick but i've come to expect that from Taco Mac in general.

One thing i can't get over is the rather flat and stagnant beer selection. The taps seem to never change and almost always consist of mass market brews that aren't very interesting. Every now and then there will be something worth drinking but usually not. The bottle selectio is also pretty boring, it doesn't seem like this location gets new beers as often as some of the others. All that being said they have some decent bottles but nothing very new and exciting.

Operation: Wine and Dine with Coworkers Visiting from Out of Town
Dateline: Present day, nondescript strip mall in Alpharetta
    Objective: Beer and Wings

Cast of characters enters from stage right. Landing at a table in the bar area, they peruse the lengthy list of brews available, both on tap and in bottles, order a few pints for starters, along with a pile of wings (death sauce on the side).

    Beer = cold
    Wings = hot
    Death sauce = moderately spicy

    End result: Success!

Editor's note: Taco Mac rules for beer selection, and this spot in Alpharetta delivers right up there with the rest of their numerous locations across the metro Atlanta area. The wings were good, and despite my fear of an impending burning ring of fire, I sampled the "death" sauce -- their hottest wing sauce available -- and came out relatively unscathed. The lips tingled for a bit after 4 or 5 wings, but I was no where near meeting the grim reaper.

    Credits roll...fade to black. (hiccup)

Added another 1/2 star because of the beer selection.  Good place to grab a casual bite and watch whatever games are on that night.  For a sports bar the menu is pretty good.  Typical mix of wings, burgers, sandwiches, and some southwest grub.

This location has really gone downhill in the past 4 years. Before Wild Wings opened up at Windward/400, this was the best place to head for lunch or after work for a beer and meal with colleagues. It was a great spot to socialize and the service was amazing. But that all seems to have gone away. The servers consistently mess up the drink orders if they even remember to bring them. The food is still decent, but that is about the only redeeming quality considering it is a chain. I've had the unfortunate pleasure of knowing how good this location used to be. I wish they could get back some of the service they used to have. Right now it is abyssmal. And unfortunately it is consistently bad. I only write this review after the same experience the past 4 times.

TM or the MAC.  This is the best place to have "hot wings".  This is the best place to have a beer.  The beer selection on tap is HUGE.  The bottle selection is even bigger.  The menu has a terrific variety and it is NOT a Mexican restaurant.  It's American.  I love the wedge salad, burgers, wraps and wings.  The "nacho train wreck sub quesco" is a great starter or whole meal.  TV screens galore and the staff are trained trained trained.  This particular TM is open till 2am; which means it has a nightlight going on and it does! During warmer weather a large patio outside makes for a nice evening....TV's too.

I spend far too much time at Taco Mac Windward.  And why not?  The beer selection is incredible (100 draft, 300 bottle, rotating) and it's perfect for hanging out.  Taco Mac has the best wings (that I've had) in the south.  And I'm from Buffalo, so that's saying something.  The chips and queso are also a home run.

Taco Mac has a great beer rewards program - the Passport Club.  (I've had well over 200 beers there.)  If you're interesting in trying tons of new and different beers, sign up!

Thursday night is keep-the-pint-glass night.  Order the beer of the month and get a pint glass while supplies last.  At Windward, they usually have glasses from 5 (when it starts) until about 8 or 9.  Other locations typically run out a lot faster.

This is a great place to grab a group of friends, have some beers, and chill out for a few hours.  Don't expect it to be a quick dinner!

First impressions are important. And upon opening the door at Taco Mac, I was blasted with stale beer smell. Ah, reminds me of the dive bars from my college days. Make no mistake, this is a beer joint. And that's too bad, because we were here over lunch. But they have more beer than I have Yelp reviews. This place is perfect for after work brews, especially if you have colleagues who are beer snobs.

But while the beer selection is good, the food just sucks. I usually order the boneless chicken wings with hot sauce. Nasty. McNuggets with catchup have more flavor. Wife ordered a taco salad, which was just chili dumped on lettuce in a shell-bowl.

I will say that the service was top-notch for a joint like this. My diet coke never came close to being empty. Other servers would fill in for each other when one was busy. And the manager came by each table to check on things. Impressive!

So skip this place for lunch, and save your visit for after-work beers.

This is heaven for beer enthusiasts. Taco Mac serves several hundred different brews, and many of them are even on draught.

The food at Taco Mac is actually very good, better than the usual bar food. There's not much for you if you are a vegetarian, but the burgers, sandwiches and appetizers are delicious.

No one ever gets tacos when I go with friends to Taco Mac.  Oh well, the chicken philly sandwiches, grilled chicken, chicken fingers, Buffalo wings, burgers and fries are worth going for. There are also plenty of other menu choices including salads, appetizers, southwestern dishes and desserts to choose from.  Plus the menu is kid friendly.

Beer lovers, Taco Mac is the place for you. They distribute more beer than any other restaurant in Atlanta and house a huge mod wall of every beer known to mankind.  With beer, an outdoor patio and hanging flat panel televisions showcasing sports, beer and sports lovers alike will enjoy the atmosphere and food and Taco Mac.  Not to mention, the tables and booths are large enough to accommodate big groups.

Founded in Atlanta in 1979, in 2006 Taco Mac now has 21 locations.  To visit Taco Mac, go to <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tacomac.com&s=89ed37ba79038a973ee87c911834f1599541be945b5f51b2a28bf98a74a4d8ca" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.tacomac.com</a> for details.
