Had lunch here with my husband on a whim.  We were just driving by and decided to try this place because we see it all the time but we usually eat at another place.

The food didn't disappoint, however the service was lackluster.  Although there were very few other patrons, it was still really slow.

We had the Moo Shu Chicken and the Scallops, both were really good.  Usually my husband sticks with his seafood but the Moo Shu was so good he kept putting his fork in my plate.

They also don't have free refills on soda, :(

    Overall all it was OK.

Lunch for two was $25 including 2 soda's and tip.

The chef that works there now is supposedly the old chef at MAPO tofu...so I hear from my mom. I know the old chef at MAPO tofu was AMAZING so if it's true than I would definitely rate their food wayyy up there. Still have yet to actually try the place but as far as I know, that's just what I've heard. Just wanted to share that.

I'm pretty impressed with the food, the service needs a little improvement though, more workers, went for lunch there was maybe two other people eating other than my friend and I. I got the lunch lo mein, this is the first time I've gotten lo mein that looks like what I wanted. If I added peppers this dish would of been amazing. A soup, eggroll and tea came with my lunch, I would say it was enjoyable. I'm excited to try new things on the menu. Thanks to yelp friends for recommending the place! I also found out that the owners are the old owners of MAPO in naperville, il. They still have the signature dishes such as spicy beef soup and beef rolls etc on the menu. They told me they are in the process of a new "look" also. MODERN, I got a chance to see the new modern menus, right now the place is in a traditional Chinese theme, you know the gold, red, dragons. I think a new look will help. The owners are really nice too!

Like everyone said, the owners have changed. I also agree that the food was not overly salty like some places. The eggplant was a little too greasy for our tastes, but we liked the fish filet, snow pea tips, and others (see photos). The portions were pretty big, great for family style.

Really good food.  It's freshly made and tastes authentic.  We were very impressed.  Only wish they delivered. . .

Very authentic Chinese food. Try order from the Chinese version menu if you can read it. If not, try order from the House Specialties.

The food is fresh and not salty. It is slightly pricy compared to other Chinese restaurant in the area, but it is worth it!

Best Chinese food we have had in a long, long time!! The first time we ordered out and the egg rolls didn't even make it home. We use to have to drive far for food like this!! It isn't the cheapest but you really get what you pay for :)

I just had the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special earlier today.  The quality of the chicken was poor (fatty dark meat with little white meat), the vegetables were just average, and the brown sauce was quite watery.  The fried rice had that overly artificial yellow color with little flavor, and the egg roll was about half the size of most restaurants for lunch specials.  Hot and sour soup was mediocre.  Honestly, the overall quality of all items was the same (if not lower) than those all you can eat Chinese buffet restaurants.  Service was quite slow, and I had to wait 5 minutes for someone to even see me as I waited to pickup my order.  A disappointing experience.

The most authentic food in the south Naperville/Plainfield area. Great chef. Fresh food and really good lunch specials. Full bar too. A welcome relief from all the fast food Chinese places. My only suggestion to them is to translate the Chinese menu to English so we can all enjoy. (many Chinese restaurants have Chinese menus they only give to people who read Chinese. It is quite different than the standard American buffet item dishes)

Disappointing and unimpressive. If you like carrots, you will be in heaven. Carrots, carrots everywhere! We ordered several dishes to share - about $70.00 worth and all of us were not happy with our meal. We decided to grade each of the items: egg drop soup - B-, egg rolls - B, moo shu chicken - f (spicy and smelled bad), beef egg foo young (B.. would have been higher if there weren't carrots and peas in pancake), Beef lau mein (their spelling not mine - F...sticky and gooey and not good), Beef fried rice - D-, Vegetable Beef - B+. Would never go back. Still looking for a Chinese restaurant out here. The gold standard is held by Hong Kong Chop Suey up in Mundelein!

I love this place, the food is excellent and the entire staff is very friendly.  Best Chinese food in the area.  I have a slight crush on Hui, she's awesome...

I really liked this place. The food is delicious, and the staff is really nice. It just opened up, so the place looks fantastic, and is in really good shape. The chinese furniture and decorations are really cool also!

I happened to try this place b/c I had to go to Wamu which is just a few doors down.  I happened to go during lunch hour so there were specials.  I'm not sure if the specials are only on the weekdays or if they have them on weekends.  I had the Kung Pao Chicken lunch and it was really good...probably one of the best authentic tasting Chinese food places I've been since I moved out to Illinois...both in the city and suburbs.  I looked at the dinner menu and it is a lot pricier so maybe bring a few more people and do it family style so you get to try more stuff.  I look forward to going back.
