Oh hell's yeah. It's a dive bar and sometimes they have cover, but it's a great place just off the beaten Mammoth path to have a couple pints, maybe dance or play pool and chill after a slice of pizza downstairs. Tap that!

Super cool locals bar where even a couple dudes just enjoying a couple days of riding can go and feel at home. A pint of really good IPA and a pitcher of really cheap Coors original was a great pre-snowboarding evening. Will be back soon.

What more could you ask for when chillen after snowboarding all day?? Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and everyone there is cool peoples.  Super chill bar, lots of beers on tap, pool and darts to keep us occupied.  Put in some quarters in the juke box and you're set for the night.  I love local joints, so this was definitely a hidden gem

Happy Hour menu worked for us.  We had the chili which was a nice sized bowl with crackers  and very tasty.  One item NOT on the happy hour menu, is the single slice of pepperoni pizza.  It was good and the crust was crisp.  All I ask for.

I should also mention we sat at the bar and the bartender was extremely personable and took care of business.  Don't usually comment on service but the standard was high there.

Great place to go if you want to get shoved all night by people playing pool and darts in the attic of John's Pizza Works and drink over priced beer and sake. Save yourself the trip up the stairs and hang out in Outlaw Saloon at John's. If you're looking for the local feel, go check out Clocktower Celler by the Village.

Awesome bar, awesome owner, awesome bands.  Where the locals hang.

Nice local bar. Very small inside but they've managed to provide a small stage for a live band and have 1 pool table which always seems occupied. They only serve beer and wine, but seems like everyone who goes here is happy with those options.  The crowd varies in age, so whether young or older, this place is a fun little hang out.  It's located above Johnnys Pizza.

What can I say about The Tap?  It is a fun down to earth bar in Mammoth where you can hang out with the local, play pool and darts.  You can also order Buffalo wings and pizza from downstair to have with your drinks.  I love this place but it is hard to find if you're looking for it the first time.  We stayed at Mammoth Mountain Inn and came into town to spend time here.

I love this bar. I'm from Iowa and walking in here reminded me of home. They had a kick ass band playing and they had a pool table. The crowd was cool and it was just a great bar. The only other bar we had gone to sucked and was WAY too LA for me. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because it was SO hot in there but then they turned the AC on or something and it was too cold. The other thing is I accidentally left my card there (which I NEVER do) and I can't get through to them to talk to them.

Yup it's kinda divey but in a nice homey Mammoth sort of way. They have a very decent beer selection for such a small joint tucked away upstairs under the rafters. Pool table, darts, occasional late night entertainment during happy hour - what more can you ask for in a cool place to kick back on Main Street in town?

Did you say good bar food? As an added bonus, you can order food at the bar from John's Pizza Works downstairs. Their pizzas and wings superbly complement the beers here. Please enjoy.

A hidden gem among Mammoth bars.  Only beer and wine served here, but that's the way we like it.  If you're looking for a chill spot away from some of the bigger crowds, this is your place.

The Tap is legit.  5 stars for having all the right fixings for a solid local secret dive-ish bar.  Nothing to complain about, you get what you expect.  Can't beat the cheap beers at happy hour too.  If you live in Mammoth go to The Tap.

    YAY! I love the tap!!!

Hidden locals spot in Mammoth right above John's pizza works (which is also DELICIOUS) and the outlaw saloon. Up the stares and into the attic of the building, and there is the Tap!!!

Do me a favor, when you get into the tap, after you've ordered your delicious beer (which may be after a while because they have so many delicious ones to choose from), and find a place for you and your buddies to plant your bottoms. LOOK UP!!! THE CEILING IS SO COOL!
Yes, its like your in an attic, but like an attic in Alice in Wonderland or something. The wavy part is cool, and the wood grain. I dunno. I just really like staring at it. Also I really like everything else there. So much random cool decor and stuff everywhere.

The tap is seriously the PERFECT DIVE BAR, (short of mixed drinks), from the random upside down tulip lamps, to random wall decor, and free darts!!!!!!!! I LOVE DARTS!! They're the old school, might stab someone in the eye kind!! You also have to keep score yourself, which is a fun learning experience.

As for beer, tons of great choices, all at great prices.
The crowd is mostly locals, and its got that "locals only bro, no howlies" vibe.
Awesome juke box, sometimes live bands.
Oh and if you can, or you're that thirsty ;) , check out the "broke as f-ck" happy hour. $1 pbr and rolling rock.

    I miss you already tap!!!!

My favorite hidden pub in Mammoth! Great vibe, drinks, sound system, and people; no attitudes. On your way to Burning Man? Definitely stop here.

We watched the Giants kick Texas butt in the 2nd game of the W. Series.  It was a great spot to watch on multiple huge screens!  Service is fine and the beer, pizza, salads, and people the same.  Locals and out of towers like us have a home here.

This place rocks! It's fun and lots of good beers on Tap / 12 last time I looked.  But they've added some cocktails now which is really cool. We order pizza downstairs and they let us bring it up. How cool is that!!

I've been to a bunch of bars in Mammoth and this is by far the best. The bartender was really cool, the drinks were cheap, the DJ was great (hip-hop), and the crowd was some of Mammoth's finest. The pool table was free too.

If you're lucky, you'll see Shellator dance.

Just a tiny little dive bar above a pizza place. That's what you kind of expect in a place like this. I just can't seem to like this place as a persistent smell of barf will linger in your memories.

Is the Tap still for sale? Don't worry, it will always be there, just different owners. Downside it only had beer and wine and closes at 12. But it's a good little hang out. It's like if you had a bar in your attic. Although I'm not into the live music scene.

Save the TAP!  I saw it up for sale on the back of a Mammoth Real Estate magazine... What gives? Therefore I will be doing my civic duty of contributing to their revenue every time I'm in town, and dragging everyone with me.  I've been coming to Mammoth for 5 years and walked into the Tap for the first time a couple of weekends ago... Such a no-nonsense great skiiers/locals bar.  There's live music weekend nights and a very friendly bar staff.  I'd call this the best "hole in the wall" that actually kinda has some class that I've seen in a while.  Only downside is that they only have beer and wine.  Other than that, well done, and don't you dare go out of business!!!
