Groupon led me to this comfy bar community along the outskirts of Downtown St. Pete and I'm pleased enough to return again in the future.
DRINKS
Tequilas are the quirk here... FLAVOR-INFUSED tequilas. Tequilas salt-in-hand-suck-lemon are normally the equivalent of an exploding gas tank to my sober state... but how can I say no to a signature item? My cucumber cilantro and my partner's fruity tequila version did not convert us into tequila worshippers, (and one drink did destroy my sober-ness a bit) but I was still pleasantly surprised to enjoy it. AND drink it slowly. Tequila lovers will definitely love this place.
There's several dozen craft beer as well... and cider for me! I haven't heard of some of those names...
FOOD
The appetizers were half-assed but at least contained more than the typical buffalo wings and fries bar food. Most items (like the mac-n-cheese and the pretzels) held the texture of an item than had been made long ago then reheated upon our order.
ATMOSPHERE
Almost 30 minutes passed between "sit wherever you like" to "what shall I get for you?" Yet the popular patio area was not that busy. At least once acknowledged, our server became very attentive. The live singers have also been very talented and soulful in their playing.
Board games and drinks with friends? Yes!
T&T (heh, TNT) has quite the selection of tequila shots and infusions. I'd never had an infused tequila before. I ordered a raspberry lemon tequila and I tried a little of my friend's melon infused libation. I am not a fan. You can definitely tell they used cheap tequila. Very astringent and bitter. After that, we ordered a proper shot of anejo, which was so smooth you didn't even need the lime.
As for food, we ordered beer cheese & pretzels and mini brats wrapped in bacon. They looked like lil smokies to me, but they sure tasted good! They had a few items on the menu that were pub food-ish, but not what you would typically see in a bar setting. Kudos to them for variety,
The outside bar area was full, but not overly crowded. They had some live music. All was well. We stayed inside and played some games. Hidden in storage lockers are a ton of board and card games. Poker chips, dominoes, Taboo, Trivial Pursuit and quite a few others. There is also a shuffleboard table. If you are going with a group of friends, you will have had a great time.
Great food menu- different items ( NOT your EVERYDAY kinds of choices)...and great drink menu for those who want a change from the same ol' "bar or pub"... Â Great friendly service.. Â We were first-time customers, Friday afternoon, May 16th. Â Went after purchasing an e-mail discount coupon!! People NEED to TRY this!!
Review Source:I'm from out of town, and trying to find a Country/Western bar, led me to this bar. Â I was very pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this gem of a place. The tequila here is superb, and very nicely priced. (I started with Cabo Wabo at $7 a shot!) the bartender was incredibly friendly and helpful. Their tequila/ fruit infusions are simply delightful. Had to take one star off because there was no crowd/ it didn't really feel like a party... The music was not my taste either. Â Otherwise, I could very well become a pro at Tequila tastings if I lived here.
Review Source:If I lived in Florida, I could see myself as a regular here.
I was in town for a 1/2 marathon and ended up here on a Sunday afternoon for games and drinks with friends.
It is worth noting that if you check-in on Foursquare for the first time, you can get a free drink (beer, I think) which I promptly took advantage of.
There's an outdoor area and a spacious indoor area with plenty of seating and games. Our group took over the shuffleboard area.
We didn't order food, so I can't speak for the kitchen in that regard but the bartenders are friendly and the drinks they pour are great. That's really all I can ask for in a bar, right? (Or at least that's all I care about.)
I wish I could give this place a higher rating but honestly, when I think of this place, the voice in my head goes "eww no way!!" Â I had been wanting to try this place and bought a Groupon one day (thank goodness I didn't pay full price for my meal). My husband and I shared black bean hummus, I had the quesadilla and he had the beer brats. As we ate the hummus we thought "hmm..we prefer the Sabra brand that you buy at the store." As I ate my quesadilla I thought "man I wish I was eating Applebee's quesadilla." That's when I knew this place was no good...when I actually thought that something from Applebee's was significantly better! My husband said his brats were not very flavorful at all.
Our service was also nothing to write home about. It was slow, we were brought out the wrong appetizer, and at one point my husband ordered a beer only to watch the waitress go and have a 10 minute smoke break right in front of us!! She could have at least rung his beer in and had another waitress bring it to him before caving to her need for nicotine.
The only redeeming quality about this place is the atmosphere. They have a great setup with indoor/outdoor seating but all in all, I'm at a restaurant for good food with good service.
The quesadilla was great, and the stuffed peppers were good, and fresh. We had 2 different tequila shots, one cinnamon and one lemon raspberry (I think). The selection of craft beer is good, with lots of interesting choices, and a few cider type offerings. Â Service was very good at the outside bar, and we enjoyed the experience.
Review Source:Used a groupon with a friend for a first time saturday lunch time visit. The place was mostly empty and not very impressive from the curb side view. The music on the outdorr patio was too loud for casual conversation. A common problem these days.
We received excellent and special attention from the waiter, whom I suppose was an owner. appetizer we selected were good. Neither of us are tequila fans though we tried a couple of them so judgement there is not relevant.
The beer selection was good.
Bottom line we'd both go back. The groupon worked for this bar owner.
What is it that they say? Â Tequila makes my clothes fall off!?! Â Well not really but it sure does some strange things. Â
This is the sort of place that St. Petersburg needs. Â This place is comfortable, provides some seriously great upscale booze, and does so while not being pretentious! Â I hate most tequila due to some bad college experiences and yet I had some of the most amazing drinks at this place. Â The tequila here is truly spectacular. Â And for tequila it is pretty reasonable too. Â I think I paid at most $12 for some really rare stuff. Â The decor here is pretty chic while also being comfortable. Â And there is a singer there who dresses all goth and can sing everything from Green Day to Hank Williams. Â He is pretty good and definitely not what you would expect.
While I do not think this place does its own food, during Rays Games it often has a food truck set up. Â All in all it is a fun place to chill. Â I enjoy it more than Fergs which is across the street.
Honestly one of the worst dining experiences I've had in recent times in the St. Petersburg area. We had a group of six and it took the waitress three trips back to our table to get everyone's order. They were out of quite a few things on the menu which is a laminated printout with maybe 10 items. The waitress claims it was because there had been a Ray's game earlier that day. The restaurant is a stones throw from the stadium and the game schedule for the season was issued months in advance - point being that perhaps it is easily anticipated that there would be more patrons than usual on that particular day. When the food came out it was on disposable plastic plates - which would be fine except that the food is way over priced and items that would normally come with fries don't. The waitress messed up our checks, combining two that weren't supposed to be combined but at that point we just sucked it up because a previous correction had taken 5 minutes to sort out. I live across the street and was really hoping for nice bar with some good food - thank goodness Ferg's still exists. Save your money - go to Ferg's, it's half the price, twice as good, and the service is WAY better - wow, never thought I'd be advising that the less trashy of two restaurant options is Ferg's.
Review Source:I bought a livingsocial deal to this place. When my boyfriend and I sat at the bar, we told the bar tender that we bought a deal for tequila tasting and two appetiters for two (he paid $25). When we asked the bartender about it, she said it was for $40 worth of food and drink. We ordered $41 worth of drinks and appetizer (just one), but when we got the bill, only $30 was taken off. There was another deal for $15 for $30 worth of food, so i thought they mistaken the deal. I went to another bar tender (i guess she was a manager) and she told us that the deal was for three tequila shots and two appetizers. I told her the otherbar tender misinformed us because if we knew that, we would have complied. She apologized and took the $40 off the bill. Â And the tequila infusions were awesome as well. I just took one star off because I was misinformed about my Livingsocial deal.
