This establishment replaces the Deep India Restaurant.  This restaurant also sells Indian Sweets.   This was early Sunday afternoon and there were no other customers when we  arrived.  Before we left, one other family came in.  The sign on the front of the establishment advertises a daily buffet, but evidently Sunday is not included.  Sadly, there was no buffet.   We ordered Veggie Pakoras and found them to be fried dough with chopped veggies dispersed in the dough.  No nice pieces of battered veggies like I was hoping.  Chutneys were adequate.  Then we got Channa Bhattura ( spiced chickpeas and puffed fried bread)  .  This was good.  We ordered medium spicy, with fresh cilantro throughout to brighten it and it was medium spicy.  Bread was delicious.  For the entree, we got a half a Tandoori chicken and makhani daal.   The Tandoori chicken was wonderful.  Perfectly seasoned and cooked.  With yummy browned onions and crispy green pepper.  The only complaint about the Tandoori chicken was...there was no breast meat.  There were 3 legs, 2 thighs and no breast.  So, not sure what happened to our half a chicken breast.  Naan was nicely done and yummy. Â
The Daal tasted yummy but the lentils were not quite done...fairly firm yet.  The Daal was also a mix of black and channa  daal.....not all black like I was familiar with.  Raitai was a simply spiced yogurt.  I did not see any cucumber, cilantro, onion or tomato like I was used to. Â
Next, we sampled the sweets. Â The stuffed Gulab Jamum was good, the other sweets were ok. Â I have had better .
Then we ordered Masala Chi and it had very little spice in it, so was unimpressed. Â They did give us the tea on the house. Â
It did not have the greatest atmosphere..just average. but the music was good. Â
We would like to give them another try. Â It was not a bad experience...the biggest complaints we had were that the Daal was not quite done, the missing chicken breast and under spiced tea. Â I came home and made my own Chi to compensate.
