I love this place, while a glass of wine can run a bit expensive the customer service is great. The owners are usually there and will really go the extra mile. They sometimes have some live music playing which is always fun and the place is just really comfy to hangout in with couches and big chairs, they even will host parties without charging any extra fees. So far we've had graduation and bday parties here and we will bring our snacks and whatnot and have a blast, they even let us set up decorations. We also like to bring orange juice and make mimosas so you can really have a customized experience for whatever drink you'd like since they let you bring in that outside food. Also right next door is eureka burger and they will deliver to the tasting room so when the drunk munchies kick in you have a place to get food without having to leave the bar. I only wish they also sold cheeses and I've talked with the owners about it and it's something they want to do, so who knows maybe one day they'll even have a cheese counter!
Review Source:I popped into this cute little Fresno wine bar while visiting from out of state. All-in-all a very enjoyable experience with incredibly friendly staff.
If the owner reads Yelp by any chance, I'd only offer a few suggestions to give this place a five-star rating:
1. A more elegant music selection playing in the background would be nice. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I'm not a fan of mixing Top-40 pop music with good wine, even though I can appreciate both (just not together, like cabernet and seafood).
2. The wine list needs to tell us where the wines are from. Country-of-origin and region are important factors to a lot of wine drinkers when they are choosing what to taste.
3. Staff members who are pouring wines shouldn't say "I've never tried this wine" or "I don't drink white wine" in regards to what is featured on the list. While I can appreciate honesty, the featured wines are presumably staff selected and should presumably also be sampled and learned by the employees.
Even if you don't like moscato, what can you tell me about it objectively? I may not have the same tastes, after all.
This place is under new ownership. It was nice before, but it's great now. The interior reminds me of someone's living room. Seating options are abundant- there are couches, cozy chairs, the bar, a large dining table, and a smaller table for groups of 4-6. The employees are friendly and helpful. One of the owners was making herself an espresso and offered to make some for the customers. I agreed and thought it was thoughtful. It feels like you're at someone's house- warm, welcoming, and cozy. Also, you can bring food from other restaurants in here or order food and have it delivered. I live down the street from Vino and Friends and this place is comprable, but has a more relaxed, homey vibe. I have family in Santa Rosa who are wine fans, and I will definitely be bringing them here. Highly recommended.
Review Source:Some very good wine for a reasonable price, with a good bartender, and since it was a bit late in the day, our flight ventured well off the beaten path - a couple on the list were substituted, and we got extra pours of a few unique Napa wines I've never seen before. All good, and we left with the last bottle of one of them. :)
Something I wish we'd known before dinner is that the tasting room lets you bring food in, or even order out for delivery (with real dishes and silverware) from other restaurants in the shopping center. How cool is that? A few people were eating Thai Palms when we came in, where we'd just come from.
I was impressed with their microbrew collection. Can't wait to try some of them.
I am sooo glad this place is here! Â Go Support it! We went with another couple, and two of us had the norman flight($10), while the other two had the mixed flight($13). Â They also do beer tasting and sell wines and beers by the glass. Â The pours were generous, and I found some new wines that I truly enjoyed. Â The wine prices are more reasonable than reported by other reviewers. Â We bought 3 bottles of the monster zin for about 23 or 25 a bottles, and it retails at norman for $28! Â There were other bottles we are familiar with too that were not marked up much. Â I much prefer the tasting room over vino100, more friendly and better decorated-we enjoyed over an hour there and could have easily spent a couple more but we had dinner reservations at twist, which by the way does not charge corkage if you bring in a bottle with a sticker from the tasting room. Â I like how you can also enjoy thai, italian, and californian cuisine there as well! the staff are great and very personable. Â We joined their club for the discounts on shipments, tastings, and events. Â I'm going back again this weekend. Â I hope others go and support this couple and their shop, so that we may have such nice and enjoyable places in fresno!
Review Source:I've been here a few times and am always impressed by the friendliness of the owner. Â He's always happy to chat and give advice to those of us who aren't very knowledgeable about wine. Â I'm looking forward to the beer tastings in addition to the wine tastings they're already having. Â I took a friend for lunch recently and we were welcome to bring in lunch from the bakery next door and have a glass of wine while we ate at the wine bar. Â I'll definitely be coming back for future lunches or chocolate and port evenings!
Review Source:I've been here twice now and enjoy the place, but have some basic consumer problems with it. First, I must say that it is a very nice wine bar. I've been to several and it's well done. The back wall it painted nicely and it looks like they copied the colors of the "Sideways" movie cover. They do have a great selection of wines, with plentiful amounts from Paso Robles (which I am a big fan of). The problem is that it's too expensive. $15 per tasting is pricey, even for Napa. Except with Napa you get the ambiance of a romantic winery.
We did a couple tastings here and bought 2 bottles of wine and were charged the full price for it all. I would have thought after buying a couple bottles that they'd knock off one of the tastings or at least discount them.
Vino 100, the biggest player in the wine bar game (located only 4 miles away), has tastings that are half the price, and their wine is about 10% less as well.
I really did like the owners and the shop and hope that they can get their pricing more competitive. Until then, I'll probably stay at Vino 100.
They've been open six weeks now and are coming into their own. Â If you join their wine club (no fee to join but w/ three different price levels to receive monthy selections of wine, starting at $35). Â the tasting is 50% = $7.50. Â Very low key, no pressure to buy. Â But the wines they poured were terrific, so what's not to buy:) Â Left there w/ five bottles!
Review Source:Went there a week ago after they just opened.
This place is on Palm and Nees, Park Place at Palm Bluffs
They are located on the side in between where Fugazzis (used to be) and Le Parisien Cafe.
Nice place, very open architecture.
Wines are all along the walls in cubbies.
Nice big wine bar area
Alot of wines from Paso (central coast), some napa and some others.
Tastings are alittle on the pricey side ($15) but there is a big selection (well that day there was)
Looks like they will also have a selection of beers, more exotic (import, microbrew) vs. domestic
Hope this place lasts, it is nice to have different wine bars / stores to go to around town.
