Tavern

Oh yes, the NEW Tavern on Garnett.  My buddy drags me in there because it how has a Whiskey Bar!  My friend knows I love my Johnny Walker, so we head over there.  I'm looking them over, and realize they don't have a single bottle of Scotch (whiskey, of course)!  I as the bartender why, and she has no idea.  But they do have Rye (who cares!).  I ask how big a shot is, and it's just one ounce, not the usual one and a half ounces (check that out on Google).  Okay, I'll try a fifteen dollar shot of Rye.   I don't want it in the little shot glass, but then next size glass is plastic!  A $15 shot of anything doesn't go in plastic.  Then next size up glass is way too big.

Okay, one quick drink and that's gone, now let's order some food.  Being lactose intolerant (I can't eat cheese) I order the BLT.  Now, a BLT is a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich.  Sometimes they come with avocado, and I think I did see that on the menu.  So when the sandwich finally came (it took forever, and the place was empty at 3:30), the damn thing had cheese on it.  They tried to convince me that BLTs always have cheese, but I'm not that stupid.  By now we had been there 45 minutes, and I wanted OUT!  So I told them to just forget it.  The bartender begs me to wait while they make another one (without cheese).  I say okay, but I want it to go.  A half hour later, here it comes in the box.  Of course, they didn't put sticks in the sandwich to hold it together, I did that myself.   I'm still trying to get out of there, but they tell me to wait for the French fries.  Ten minutes later, I've got the fries, and we finally get out of there, $45 poorer.   I did give the bartender a $10 cash tip because she was good looking.

When I got home, I found that they did not put a cap on the ketchup, and the fries were ruined.  The BLT was nothing special at all, and the fries were steak fries, not the stringy ones the bartender promised.

Now, I know The New Tavern will be successful, because this town is full of young and stupid drunks.  But I was not impressed with their "whiskey" bar, and you better stop putting cheese on your BLTs or someone is going to sue you!

All Duck fans, this is your place. This is the go to spot for all Duck games. I went for every game last season. They reserve a spot in the back for Duck fans. They just remodeled and it will be better than ever this year now that they have their own kitchen. The staff is super friendly, and they do great college football specials. This is the only place to go if you like college football.

They went through a remodel???????? They should not have bothered, the place is as bad as it ever was. Cramped, dirty, smelly to name just a few.

It is as overpriced as ever, but then again I guess they have to pay for the remodel so they are passing it on to customers.

The crowd who goes there has not improved and neither has the staff.

Still the worst place in PB.
