Wow...  I just read a bunch of the negative reviews of this joint and am sadly disappointed that those reviewers had such a bad experience.  Taylor's is my and my fiance's favorite bargain breakfast place in town.  I have had nothing but good food and good service here.  (We've been here about half a dozen times)

I'm partial to their Supreme Breakfast Burrito which has their hobo potatoes, eggs, cheese and sides of salsa and sour cream.  What makes this burrito so f-ing good is the medley of sausages and bacon in the hobo potatoes.  Also the slices of sausage are nicely seared, at least to my liking, and resonate this fantastic, rich flavor that lingers after you have finished.  Granted, this burrito is not the healthiest thing to eat, but it is great for a once in a while treat.  I've also had their Breakfast Sandwich which was equally tasty.  I once overheard a guy at a neighboring table who had received his supreme, deluxe breakfast sandwich and exclaimed, "Oh my god!  Look at this thing.  It's huge!", followed by appreciative chuckles.

My fiance likes your traditional eggs and toast kind of breakfasts from Taylor's.  She often gets the linguisa and eggs and loves it.  I've tried it, of course, and it is damn tasty.

My only complaint is that they don't bring condiments, even common ones to your table.  Instead they have a condiment station at the end of their bar.  But on the plus side, they have about every possible imagined condiment that would be good on a sausage you can think of available, which leads me to think that is why they don't bring them to your table.

The decor is bare minimum but I think they suffer on the account of the layout of the building.  Still, they could get creative and maybe break up the space to make it more interesting.

Yet, what perplexes me and my fiance is the consistent lack of clientele in this place in the mornings.  It is truly an undiscovered gem.  We've also bought several items from their freezers and were equally impressed by those selections.

Disappointing experience starting with the menu. They are a sausage place, I was thinking endless options for sausages, dogs, brats, but there are maybe a half a dozen on the menu.  There seemed to be more choices in the deli cases that were for sale.

One staff person doing it all at 11:30. There was only one other able filled, but it was still too much for one man. Nice guy, but he was only capable of so much.

We had the jalapeño dog and cheese sausage. Granted, he was under the gun, but the cheese wasn't melted in the sausage. Wings which are featured on their menu board were lackluster. We had the BBQ and the celery and carrots served with we're definitely from a previous day(s).

Ambiance was not the focus, but things looked dingy.

We didn't try any, but the jerky looked amazing.

Having spent time in Southern Oregon and being a new Bend transplant, I was elated when I saw that Taylor's wasn't just a Cave Junction restaurant.  I have been obsessed with Taylor's veggie burgers for the past two years.... best in SOUTHERN Oregon....so I thought well hey, they have the same name, so they must be the same kind of food right?  Oh my goodness was I wrong.  We come in around 7:30 on a Friday evening, no one is there.... (I understand why now).... and they tell us that they cannot fry anything (so no fries with the burger) because they are cleaning their oil for the rest of the evening.... I roll my eyes and say okay and get the side salad.  When my veggie burger arrives I look at the blackish brown mush that is sitting on the buns and am completely disappointed that it is not the same golden pattie that the Taylor's in CJ uses.  It is loaded with weird vegetable that were not listed on the menu that I ended up picking off.  When I picked up the burger the entire thing fell apart.  I took a bite and tasted the burger; it was mush, more like greul....it was even GREY colored in the inside.... I looked at my fiance and had him take a bite and he too was disgusted.  He ordered the Chicken Apple sausage and it was completely dried out, they had put their condiments up for the evening so he couldn't have anything on it.  We were both really disappointed that this restaurant could even call themselves TAYLORS.  Way to ruin a great brand :(.  Needless to say, we'll make the 4-5 hour journey to Cave Junction and eat at the real restaurant before we ever step foot in this one again.

After reading the other reviews here, I am happy to report that we had a great experience at Taylor's!  We were already familiar with Taylor's Sausages from other restaurants in town that carry their products, so when a recipe I was using called for ground sausage, Taylor's came immediately to mind. While picking up a VERY reasonably priced bag of delicious ground sweet Italian sausage, we discovered we had arrived during their happy hour (3-5, and 8-close I believe?), which boasts one of the best deals in town in my opinion-5 dollars for a pint of beer and dog of your choice! Draft selection is very good, with beers from Silver Moon, Rogue, Deschutes and Wild River (??), and the dogs they serve are huge!! I tried a Hungarian, which was sweet and mildly spicy, while my boyfriend had the classic Brat. At the end of the bar is a variety of peppers, relishes, onions and mustards to decorate your dog to your liking. I also ordered a side of coleslaw which passed my strict slaw criteria: still crunchy, not too sweet, not too goopy! Normally I don't eat a whole sausage. I usually end up saving half for the dog which was my plan this time, however; I am not ashamed to admit that the rest of my meal did not last the car ride home!!  Service was friendly,  there was just one gal there working both the grill and the counter. It was not busy, but I can see things getting a little dicey if she suddenly got hit-maybe this is an explanation for the negative experiences others have had? Anyway, we left happy and full and for under 15 dollars with the sausage to go. We haven't done breakfast yet but want to give it a shot. Like any newer business, I'm sure Taylor's is still finding their groove-but I definitely recommend giving them a chance, especially during happy hour-you won't be disappointed!!

Food was fabulous! I ordered fish & chips (I know that's weird at a BBQ joint but it's what I wanted). I've never liked tartar sauce but I loved theirs! My husband ordered the tri tip and said it and the BBQ sauce was also great. We highly recommend it!

I've been a Taylor's customer for 25 years, starting in Cave Junction, OR.  I'm a big fan of the CJ restaurant and meat products.  We decided to visit the Bend location for breakfast on a recent visit.  My partner and I both had breakfast sandwiches, which were delicious.  I love the 'butt bacon'! We had a side of hobo potatoes that are also offered at the CJ location.  They alone were worth the trip!  The coffee was good, but the server was slow on the refills, despite having time to gossip with the hard-working cook.  All in all, we'll return for breakfast when in the area.

Wanted to like it being a local independent and all but finally got up and left after waiting over an hour and having nothing more to show for it than 1 cup of coffee.

Went on Father's Day and to be honest it was not that busy. There was a buffet of sorts with maybe 5-6 items that did not look that appetising. We decided to show ourselves to a table and order breakfast off the menu.

One guy was working the floor with 3-4 doing something in the kitchen (certainly didn't seem like it was cooking). We were a party of 3 and we got two glasses of water. After 10-15 minutes we had our order taken.

I should have known when we walked by all the tables of people staring off into space that we'd be in for a long wait. The table next to us was maybe a 6-7 top. Two of them were nearly done with the buffet when the next two got their part of their plates (nothing more than scrambled eggs) and two poor ladies didn't get their order till every one else at their table was done. It was a shame as from where I was sitting I could see it had been sitting under the heating lamps for 20 minutes.

Next a woman and her son come in and sit in the booth behind me. She orders biscuits and gravy (also part of my order) and she gets it in under 10 minutes. They enter, sit, wait 10 minutes, finally order, get their food and finish before we are even served.

By now the kiddo is screaming for her pancakes and we ask if they can just cook her pancakes first. I'm told our ticket is still 2nd in line. I look around and there are 3 tables of people who ordered before us still not with any food (I really felt sorry for the senior citizen couple the most). The guy tells me they ran out of biscuits. I tell him if our food isn't up in 5 minutes we're leaving. People who have been getting their plates from the heat lamps after a 1/2 hour are sending their food back as "disgusting" and "cold" backing up whatever system they are running in the kitchen even more. No food comes out so we leave a dollar for the coffee and we're out the door.

I give the messenger guy out front a bit of credit for getting chewed out over and over but really? 5 employees and maybe 10 tables and you can't get the food out in 1+ hours? I could have gone to the market, made it home and cooked myself brunch.

Bottom line...wanted to like, heard good things, but due to the complete incompetence as a restaurant we won't ever be going back. The kicker is I didn't even get a chance to try the food. This place needs to be on that FoodTV Robert Irvine show where they totally refurb the restaurant and retrain the staff in 72 hours.

Unfortunately we purchased several packages of sausage out of their freezers and each one had a rank flavor. (old frost bit type flavor) As previously mentioned the food we had in house was good, but something is not right with quality control on the retail packaged goods.

Taylor's is a great spot for a good (cheap) meal. Great housemade sausages are the specialty and really where its at here. Every time we've been here my husband and I have each tried a different sausage, and they are all so good. They have great deals on sausages and beer for cheap, and even have a little store attached where you can take home some of their yummy products like beef jerky and we love the chorizo.
    I definitely recommend giving Taylor's a try!

I have been to Taylor's twice now, set your expections for good value, solid food, and friendly service.  If you do that you will enjoy your meal.  First and foremost, they specialize in meats.  Don't expect a good salad or an abundance of healthy sides, but you can count on some excellent saugages and hot dogs as well as some pretty good beef.  I would recommend breakfast or lunch.  While others may not like the homey atmosphere, I think is cool that Taylor's doesn't try to be something it is not.

If the price wasn't reasonable I wouldn't like this place. I do like that you can buy their products easily. The various sausages are reason enough to come here.

What caught us on our first trip was the giant 'pig' on the sign on the street.  What caught us next was the food.  The menu has something for everyone and every budget.  From as little at $2.50 to $12.00 and all in between.  We've sampled the hot dogs, grilled sandwiches, fries, onion rings and chorizo and eggs so far.  My favorite has been the grilled ham and cheese - piled high with freshly sliced ham, cheese, onion, tomato and pickles - it was great, but too much for me to eat (take home box please).
The staff is friendly, the service pretty quick, but the restaurant itself could use some help.  The place looks like it needs a good painting (or cleaning....the ceiling is not pretty), the tile floors are slippery with this wet weather and there's really no design to the place.  Simple chairs and booths, condiment station and a deli area round off the place.
Suggestions - paint, artwork and 'non-slippery' floors.

My brother and I visited Taylor's after reading a positive review in the local weekly.  I made the mistake of ordering a mushroom swiss burger, which was brought out fifteen minutes after my brother's fish and chips (not cool).  The burger was completely singed-- literally charcoal on both sides.  Maybe I should have ordered one of their sausages, which are apparently the killer ap for this venue.  Still, for the money, Bend Fish Company seems a much better bet for good quality food in this neighborhood.
