  FYI, folks, the owner sold to an experienced Mexican restaurant owner. The menu is still the same as of right now but will be changing and they are adding another upper deck. Expect improvements in both food and service. Give it another chance. We enjoy going to sit on the deck and it's within golf cart distance.

  Started with queso, chips and salsa.  The chips seemed like they came from a bag.  The salsa tasted like it was pace picante out of the plastic jug.  The queso was thick, but not a good flavor.
  
  Boyfriend had a beer-ita...and said it was just okay.
  
  The menu is sparse.  And since we weren't happy with the starters, we decided to cut our losses and left before ordering anything else to be unhappy with.

  Four of us went to this place last night and all ordered fish tacos.  What a mistake..they were ALL TERRIBLE.  The fish tacos tasted like they were soaked in salt and were essentially inedible.  
  
  Service was bad as the waitress got our food and drink orders wrong and had to be corrected.
  
  I will not go back.

  Who needs the Kemah Boardwalk when you've got this little jewel 100 yards away? Two friends and I found this place while looking for a casual Saturday night dinner in Kemah a few weeks ago. As we were wading through the Boardwalk traffic we saw this tiny little sign pointing towards Tequila Mia's and decided to take a chance. We found a great local Mexican joint with impressively low prices, quality food, and friendly staff.
  
  Upon ascending the stairs from the street, we had the choice of an outside deck with two musicians playing or an inside space. We chose the deck. The provided chips and salsa were average - the salsa was better than the chips. The margaritas came quickly and were only about $5 apiece. We all chose the fajitas, which were only about $9, and were not disappointed. The meat portions were enormous and the tortillas were homemade! I would have preferred more veggies as well, but there was more than enough food to satisfy any appetite.
  
  I'd recommend this place to anyone eating in the area. Who needs overpriced chair restaurants when you've got a place like this right around the corner???
