Must order the quail bites. Surprisingly the Taco Salad is also really yummy! Love the vinegrate that comes with it and the new shell.  The drinks are good and the servers are friendly. Very kid friendly too! They have fun back yard games on the patio for the older kids.

Been here on three separate, spread out occasions-- each hoping to have a better experience then the previous. I will say their food is rather tasty BUT their service is horrible. My boyfriend and I kept returning because we liked the food but each time the waiter/waitress would screw something up. I'm big on service and this place just couldn't deliver.

Arrived on a Saturday night. Hostess was accommodating in where we wanted to sit. Ordered medium rare steak. Arrived well done. Ordered Brownsville burrito. Arrived just like the name sounds..a burrito from Brownsville. Cold and way too much salt added. Mentioned to manager and waitstaff with no offer of exchange or discount. Manager seems to be a pompous jerk with staff and customers. Nice setting with enough TV's to watch. Watered down drinks and no fizz soda. Would not recommend.

Quail bites were delicious, but the rest left a lot to be desired.  If you want your meat medium rare, you better ask them not to cook it.  I ordered medium rare and received a hard piece of rubber for meat, and when I let the waiter know, he responded "that means you have to come back!"  WTF???

been here twice now.  Good pub for a beer.  Quite frankly though the "Texas caviar" is the best thing that keeps me coming back and will in the future...simple and delicious.  Staff has always been courteous and good service.  Will have to try some of their food sometime

There are days when you just want a burger. A good one. A tasty one. One that you don't have to shell out too much money for. Well, I found the place. No smoking, big tables and great service. I've been back a few times in large groups for Houston Texans Viewing Parties and the waitstaff is friendly and the food is tasty.

Was very good. I had the mesquite grilled fish taco's (talipia). Savory and could taste the mesquite. You can pick two sides for $13.95. My wife had the California Burger. She said it was cooked perfectly. I know it was huge as she could not finish it. Sweet tea was good. We had the fifty/fifty as a appetizer. Half fried pickels and halsf fried jalapenos. The were very good. Good service and friendly people from front door to table.
They have a realy diversfied menu. Noticed after we ordered that they had frajitas for $17.95 for two on Thursday evenings. Also a nice selection of other Tex-Mex, seafood , Cajun and steaks. A splendid array to make almost any group happy. Ambiance is more like a sports bar with huge TV's everywhere. Not loud enough to be distracting.

Wanted to like this place, given all the good reviews. However, it was far from a five-star experience. Got a burger, which was touted as being the best in Katy. It was bland and unimpressive. The fries were soggy. My wife got something that I can't recall, and the kids got a something from the kids menu. Nothing was more than mediocre.

The only cool thing is that they have a small putting green on the patio, where my kids were able to play while we ate..

I was here for the first time this past Friday and didn't really like the experience. My pulled pork sandwich was very fatty but other than that he food was fine and comparable to all the other restaurants in the area. The place isn't very big but there were a couple open tables when we got there so there was no wait to get seated. After that, we seemed to be waiting for everything (ordering, getting our drinks, getting more drinks, finally getting our food and the check). We were there for over an hour and a half. For comparison, I would say a normal meal out for us takes about 45 minutes from the time we get seated. It wasn't just us or our specific server either. I noticed 2 other tables near by that looked like they were waiting just as long for everything. It seemed like they were keeping people there just long enough to look busy while keeping a couple tables open to seat new customers at.

Excellent. Wife and I went based on Yelp reviews. Great food, great ambience, staff helpful without being overbearing. Manager stops by to make sure everything went well. Definitely will be back.

2 experiences with this place and neither one was a 5 star experience like all other reviewers say.
First experience the wife called and said she was here with friends, I asked her to bring me something. The item I ordered was supposed to come with fries but when I opened the box there was no fries. I know my wife didn't eat them because she just finished gorging herself on crawfish and she isn't really a french fry fan.
Second experience I was the one doing the ordering, Walked in told the hostess that I was in for an order to go and she said I could go over to the bar to place my order or this nice lady here can help you (as she placed her hand on a servers shoulder next to her). So I redirected my attention to the server who promptly said just go over to the bar and let them help you. So I did. Wife seems to love their crawfish, my shrimp were ok but those fries I was missing on the last order, well I wasn't missing much. It was obvious that they were re-heated. They were not burned in color, but they were hollow, shriveled and some were hard. Definitely not fresh. I for one will opt for a non french fry dish if I return. This dish also comes with Onion "rings" Which are actually breaded onion scraps, I never found a single ring and they were soggy, over saturated with oil.
This is one of those places you go for happy hour, get something to munch on and hang out or just chill for a while and watch a game. Its a local owned business that has quite a few beers on tap. But 5 star dining? Come on, lets be real here.

Went for the first time. Waiter was friendly and provided great service. Owner came over and introduced himself and was very friendly. Had the quail bites and they were fantastic. I'll return to this place.

Great place, great food, good value. We had their famous quail bites and yes they are great. Their cheese burgers can use a bit more cheese, their quesadillas probably the best in town and their Texas grill was very tasty!... Found lots of crafty beer from Texas and good Margaritas. We did try two of the desserts: the chocolate graham cracker s'more pie and the pecan bread pudding, both fantastic... We will definitely come back

Went in for the first time last night..was greeted by the Manager and was told we could sit wherever we liked..we chose a booth by the window. The table was a little wet and the Manager noticed and wiped it down for us.

The ambiance was very clean, nice and upscale. The bar had patrons and outdoor patio had a group. The time frame we came in was before dinner/late lunch. I checked out the menu beforehand and was wanting to try it out.

We were greeted by our server, David and asked if it was our first time. HIs response, "ah I love newbies". He gave us time to check out the menu and he brought out some TMG concoction of jalapeno peppers and cream cheese...interesting and good.

We ordered the simple queso and salsa as an app...my husband said the warm salsa was good...our kids ate it right up.

My husband ordered the Bbq burger, myself a chicken sandwich and the kids--burger and chicken strips.

Now...quite frank..my husband is particular about burgers in general...just because it is one of his favorite foods. He gobbled his up right away...and my chicken was very moist. It was not dry at all..and the portions were right on the money.

My girls loves their food and the chicken I can tell was handmade..it does not look like frozen chicken nuggets.

We went during happy hour and I ordered a margarita..$3. I cannot complain.

I will go back again and I am looking forwards to other variety. Also impressive are the feedbacks from other patrons. Customer service hands down..best I have had in a very long time!!!

We have been several times since last crawfish season and all I have to say is QUAIL BITES!!! You have to try them.  They are delicious.  The food is very good, staff is very friendly and chef is so nice and prepares delicious food.  Now I'm just counting down the months until crawfish season.  :P

I'm giving this place 5 stars not because the food is great or that they have exceptional drinks.  The menu is decent and they do have a good selection of beers.  However,  the staff is some of the friendliest I've experienced in a long time.  The bartenders remember your name as well as your favorite drink and the manager personally welcomes me every time I come here.  It's also a great place to watch Sunday NFL games and the crowd is not too rowdy and you can always strike up a friendly conversation with a stranger.

In a very unsuspecting spot in Katy, this is a top notch eatery. I have had quite a few items on the menu, and I can honestly say none of them disappoint. Austin the owner seems to always be there, and service is very attentive. In a world full of mediocre chain restaurant, it is nice to come across individually owned gems like this.

I can't believe how good the food in this restaurant.  Their location doesn't look much- but once you get in, you'll see great set up for bar and resturant.  Very cozy & they have big screen TVs everywhere (great to watch the game).  Their version of "Texas Caviar" is VERY good (homemade cream cheese with candied jalapenos served with crackers).  I love their quail bites (wrapped with bacon). My husband had steak sandwich and it was very nice & tender. The taste of the meat is very nice, mesquite smoked, I guess.  They have a little private room where you can book on the back, complete with giant TV in there as well.

Wife and I had a birthday party that we were going to here to meet friends.  This is really a great place with a good selection of quality food.  We have gone back a least a dozen or more times.  The wait staff, hostesses, management and owners pay attention to you and the details to make sure a quality products hits the table.  Even when they are busy it never seems like it is too loud to enjoy table conversations.  The bar and patio and hard to beat to hang out.  A more than 20 taps on the wall with great selection of craft beers on tap and in the bottle.

Great selection of Tex-Mex, Seafood, Burgers, Steaks, Salads.
We are working are way around the menu.
We have been to brunch, lunch and dinner and yet to be disappointed!!!

EXTREMELY friendly server! We had Katherine who was super friendly & had great recommendations!
The Texas Cavier was a hit...as we just moved to Texas, it was different but a good snack! We also the stuffed jalapeños (can't remember the name!) & they were excellent. Cali burger was great according to hubby!  Kids Mac & Cheese was homemade & delicious!!  I got a chix burrito & it was good but a little small for the price ($11).  We'll be back!!

The Grill's owner (Austin) was the General Manager at Pappasitos for many years. This is a very nice local Sports Bar with outstanding food, great service and friendly staff. It is a must see experience!

So far so good. A few beers, and an awesome California burger that I will always order when here. For my fellow beer drinkers. They have local No Label which i love. Alaskan Amber, Karbach, Sam Adams as well as bud light and those crappy beers. I like their outdoor patio which includes a mini put put for kiddos, I just wish the cover was bigger. Most of the tables have umbrellas, not a good idea on a windy day as our table fell over spilling our beers!!!  Our waiter was quick to get us some new ones and we moved to the covered seating.  Update:  Chicken enchiladas are awesome, I'm a cheese lover, they are covered in cheese.  If you want authentic then these aren't for you, but it's not a Mexican place so who cares!

CRAWFISH!!  YUM YUM!!  This is one of the best places around for crawfish.  Cooked perfectly with corn and potatoes (could use a few more with 5 pounds) but so good.  We have been there for dinner and for lunch and have NOT been disappointed.  Love the jalapeno cream cheese and crackers!  Fish tacos are great.  Service is always very good.  Mixed drinks are a little on the high side.  Every food entree has been fantastic.

My parents live near Katy and I was visiting them this past weekend from the East Coast - and wanted to try someplace new that wasn't too far from where they live. Since I read that the owner was of Pappasitos fame, and that's normally a 40 minute drive (and the last two times disappointing service and food) I picked this establishment to try out.  We were all really pleased with our dining experience there. We went on Fri night around 7, so I was worried it would be packed, but it really wasn't busy at all (nice for us since my Dad hates to wait for food). Although they have outdoor dining, it's adjacent to the Katy Freeway so from a noise perspective we didn't consider it as an option (Dad's not a fan of highway noise, either). They have lots of beer on tap, but I went straight for the house margarita special that was recommended by a server that helped out until ours was free - and she was right on the money with her recomendation. It was great - and at only $8.95 packed a serious punch. We tried the quail bites (suggestion, more jalapeno, less bacon), which were good, and the onion strings, which had good dipping sauce. The candied jalapenos that were complimentary were addictive - would love that recipe!  My mom had the fried shrimp (a huge plate with fries) and both my Dad and I had the chicken fried steak. Amazing. So light and crispy and flavorful, you could hardly believe it was fried. I'd go back again just for that. We were all too full for dessert, unfortunately.  Our server was fantastic (wish I could remember his name, but I can't - refer to the margaritas above). He was funny, responsive, and a a real pleasure to deal with. All in all, our dining experience was a total success.  My parents have already told their friends about it (they hadn't heard about it before I suggested eating there), and I will defiintely be back next time I visit.  Of the four days I was visiting, we went out to eat for lunch and dinner each day (so many options in TX, so little where I live) - this place was the best all around for food, service, and value. Thanks!

Were on our way to do some Katy Mills shopping, and had heard about the great new spot conveniently right off of I-10 at Fry, and our stomachs were growling.

This place totally surpassed our expectations! The owner was super welcoming (had been with Pappasitos for many years), and the service was beyond friendly and diligent.

At their recommendation, we started with the quail bites, which were phenomenal. My boyfriend had the pork ribs, which I admit to stealing several bites - they really melted in your mouth. I enjoyed the California burger, which was super fresh and flavorful. Great selection of beer. The whole meal really hit the spot, and the midday ambience was relaxing. I will have to visit again soon because the patio and mini putting green look like they get really fun at night!! So happy to have this option in Katy now, and it will def be on my regular circuit for dining (and drinking!) out.

Wonderful service, great food, especially for Katy.  Just opened up - a really nice addition to the neighborhood serving up a good variety of burgers, steaks, BBQ, and seafood.  The Armadillo Tail and hamburgers are excellent and recommended.  Sunday brunch is also something I am looking forward to trying.  Also really want to come back for the chicken fried steak.

Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating and full bar with televisions available.

The owner, formerly of Pappasitos, is very sweet - makes it feel like family when you come here.
