I can't tell you the number of times I have passed this place and never once thought of going inside. Once inside I knew take out was the best choice for me. But I Â know that some of the best neighborhood food come from places that may not look stella on the inside.
I went for lunch and had the Jerk Chicken lunch special for $9.50 that included rice and beans, cabbage and one slice of plantain. I replace the cabbage with mac and cheese and ordered the cornbread (additional cost of $1) and pound cake. Everything was delicious and thank goodness not spicy. You can skip the cornbread and absolutely love the pound cake.
When your order is complete they make sure to show you, which I thought was a nice touch. The $9.50 price could be a buck or two cheaper and should include the cornbread or roll and plantain could be larger or at least two slices.
I would go back and looking forward to trying the truck.
I was annoyed with the restaurant (not the trucks - they're great!) last night. Â We called to order some jerk chicken and I heard a very weird and uncomfortable conversation on the other end while trying to place my order. Â Then, their phone hung up on me several times when trying to complete my order. Â Lastly, when my hubby went to pick up the food, their credit card machine was broke. Â HOW ANNOYING. Â Get it together Three J's. Â Your jerk is the best but I can't continue to recommend it to people if your service is crappy.
