I like barbeque, I like locally owned places. Â We ate here tonight, nice place- clean, tv's in every corner. I did think there would be a larger choice on the menu, Â limited to chicken steak, bbq, catfish and the usual sides ($2.25 ala carte) - after all this is a classical trained chef/owner. Â I had the brisket plate, my wife had the two item combo, ribs and brisket. Â All the food was tasty and decent sized portions, Â Her ribs were a bit over done on the outside( too crusty black for our tastes) But they were tender and the brisket was good - not to dry or too wet, nice bark on the outside and smelled of smoke. we tried the fried green tomatoes to start, Â The romalade sauce had an off taste to it- not sure so we didnt eat it. Â They were nice but didn't appear homemade- Â cut very thin, we ordered them and the waitress didn't return to take the rest of the order till they were brought to the table. Â ok? i guess. Â the sauces (we tried a sampler of the three) were ok, we got a table spoon of each in a cup to try. Â We were offerered more when we wanted it. Â overall, we will come back, but only once in a while.
