I don't do the bar scene too much but I can honestly say this is the place to go. It's very chill and the people here are nice. I even ran into an old friend from club soccer when we were 13 years old! Â It's like the TV show Cheers, everyone here knows your name! Aly is my favorite bartender here, she is the best and knows how to make a good old fashioned drink! The food here is also good, especially the pizza!
Review Source:I came upon this place by accident. I was supposed to join a group of friends at a Mexican restaurant across the street. Unfortunately my friends made reservations at the wrong restaurant so we decided to cross the street and check out Tonno's Sports Bar and Grill. We turned lemons into lemonade that night.
Only one young female bartender and a cook in the back staffed Tonno's. I dreaded the poor service I expected to receive from this understaffed operation. Boy was I wrong! The bartender, Allie(?) did an excellent job serving our large party. She kept track of our drinks and food orders, was attentive to our needs, and ALWAYS had a smile on her face. She never appeared stressed-out even with her huge workload.
The food was very typical bar food. Among our large group, we ordered almost everything on the menu. I didn't hear one complaint from anyone.
The one thing about this place that stood out above all was Allie. There are a lot of places just like Tonno's, but bartenders like Allie are very rare. I hope the owner realizes this and rewards her sufficiently to keep her there.
What's with some of these 1 star reviews, and demonizing the food? Are you kidding me? Best fish tacos in town! Best pork sliders in town! And the food is very reasonably priced. Sure the tacos are small, but what do you expect for $2.50 a pair? Best $2.50 I've ever spent in my life. Â Fair prices on drinks! Friendly staff, large outdoor area. My only complaint is sometimes the bathroom runs out of towels for drying hands.
Review Source:Tonno's has become my new favorite bar. The staff is extremely friendly, there are different deals every night of the week, food is amazing and cheap! Â Dollar taco tuesdays are my faves! You rock, tonno's. Don't listen to the haters. They have no clue what a good local bar looks like. Ps. Love you jodi!!!!!!
Review Source:Food was very small portion and all i could hear was the microwave. Also went to watch a thurs night football game and i was told to move to a different table bc of a presentation so i moved in the corner by the bathroom and them was asked to turn the tv down. What a joke i felt like i was 12 at my moms house.
Review Source:I love the idea of a neighborhood sports bar, but I have to say the food was barely edible at this one. Â I frequent different sports bars and know that you can't expect gourmet cooking but I can't imagine they will stay in business long with quality of food this poor. Â On top of that, the physical bar is very small so most likely you will end up having to sit at one of the tables. Â I guess some people won't care about that, but when I go to a bar, I want to sit at a bar. Â I'll travel a little further and stick with Players instead.
Review Source:Love this place! Been there three times since they opened a few months ago. Fish tacos and prime rib sandwich have been surprisingly good, the garlic fries are my downfall. Sat on the patio for almost 2 hours one warm evening last week and didn't want to leave. Kids love the handmade pizza, the jukebox, and that it is next to the DQ and they walk themselves over and bring us back ice cream. Â Hubby loves the cold beer on tap. The family that owns it is great, super friendly. We've been working on avoiding the huge corporate places and this place makes that easy. Hoping they get some live music outside - that would make it perfect.
Review Source:Hello All:
Eddie M. is spot on. Â I too was there on the evening in question, among many other enjoyable visits to Tonno's. Sy D. is way out of line. Â 'Nuff said on his "experience". Â
The food, beverage offerings, staffing, and owners are all top drawer IMHO. In my nearly 60 years on this planet as a major league sports fan, coach, martial artist, extreme skier, kayaker, Irish poet and bar brawler; let's just say I've been around.
Tonno's is a blessing for the Orangevale area sports fans, and those who seek interesting conversation with a range of patrons, all of which I've found courteous, law-abiding, and polite.
Sy D. is correct on one point: Â Tonno's has huge potential, and I can assure you that it will be met. Â Try it...you'll like it! Â Additionally, anyone has to admire the courage and vision it takes to launch a new business in this wretched economic climate. Â Just cruise through Sac County to see all the "For Lease" signs on the commercial properties infesting our area. Â Do you understand that empty buildings equals no revenues for essential services, all made available through confiscatory tax rates and so-called fees (also taxes)? Â
Who among you readers have the intestinal fortitude to invest/gamble your hard earned savings or grovel for an almost unobtainable business loan to work 80 hours a week (and swallow the crap that the general public thinks you should) Â just to provide an enjoyable respite from the insanity of daily life, and hopefully a living for the business owners family? Â Best of luck to Tonno's. Â Great place. Â

I just had to voice my dissatisfaction with my experience last night with what I saw. Â Bottom line...if the owner does not control what goes on in this establishment, which has huge potential, the doors are going to be slammed shut. Â I met with a group of adult friends last night to watch the fight..as I was enjoying my appetizer I sat and watched the underage group slip in the door and sit and share drinks with their over 21 buddies..then I watched as the wonderful parent brought his maybe 6 month old daughter in, and keep her there for the whole duration of the fights..yes, a 6 month old in a bar full of people..we are not talking Applebee's here..we are talking a BAR..the child was screaming her poor little head off. Â To top it off, they placed their infant carrier next to their underage buddies, who proceeded to slip the "water" bottle out from under the blanket and sit their and drink the "water"..
This is how a bar goes out of business..
This is a great family sports bar. Very friendly staff. They have a balanced selection of draft beer. Racer 5, Rolling Rock 33, Bud Light, Coors Light, Shock Top, Newcastle and one more that I can't remember. Lots of bottled beer too. The food is good. I have had the pizza, wings, taco's, and prime rib sandwich. They will put your game for you on there several TV's. They have a jukebox and ATM. Very nice to go outside and chill under the tree's on there patio. This is a very cool place to hang and much needed place in Orangevale.
