Last week we had a company event here and they shut the place down for us. The service was 5-Star and the food 4-Star. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always present and on-the-lookout to accommodate. You never had to seek someone out to take an empty plate or refill a drink, they were all very proactive. The food was good. Simple items like sliders, Caesar salad, and chicken on a skewer. One standout item was the deep fried Mac & cheese balls. Those were very tasty, especially when dipped on their spicy ketchup. I'll have to give Hampton's a try on my own, but as far as serving a large group, they "rocked".
Review Source:The menu at Hampton's on Sutter initially looks like typical bar food - burgers, sandwiches, fries, a few salads... Â But take a closer look, and you'll know this spacious, 2-level establishment has a pretty creative chef. Â Situated towards the quiet end of Sutter in old Folsom, this is a very pleasant place with interesting food choices...that work!
My salmon-eggs benedict was absolutely wonderful, as was my daughter's classic burger (the meat may have been yummy bison meat??), and my wife's goat cheese sandwich. Â Everything came out hot and fresh. Â When we visited (just after noon on Sunday), Hampton's also featured a talented singer-guitarist performing on the patio, and despite the 100 degree heat, she sang and played with energy and enjoyed herself almost as much as we loved listening to her. Â The owners are well on their way to turning Hampton's into a true hot spot in a town that really needs some comfort food, drinks, and gathering place.
Service was also befitting a local spot - casual, informal, personable, but attentive. Â No stuffed shirts here, just friends having fun enjoying themselves! Â Can't wait to go back to try the Wellington burger...
