Last week we had a company event here and they shut the place down for us. The service was 5-Star and the food 4-Star. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always present and on-the-lookout to accommodate. You never had to seek someone out to take an empty plate or refill a drink, they were all very proactive. The food was good. Simple items like sliders, Caesar salad, and chicken on a skewer. One standout item was the deep fried Mac & cheese balls. Those were very tasty, especially when dipped on their spicy ketchup. I'll have to give Hampton's a try on my own, but as far as serving a large group, they "rocked".

The menu at Hampton's on Sutter initially looks like typical bar food - burgers, sandwiches, fries, a few salads...  But take a closer look, and you'll know this spacious, 2-level establishment has a pretty creative chef.  Situated towards the quiet end of Sutter in old Folsom, this is a very pleasant place with interesting food choices...that work!

My salmon-eggs benedict was absolutely wonderful, as was my daughter's classic burger (the meat may have been yummy bison meat??), and my wife's goat cheese sandwich.  Everything came out hot and fresh.  When we visited (just after noon on Sunday), Hampton's also featured a talented singer-guitarist performing on the patio, and despite the 100 degree heat, she sang and played with energy and enjoyed herself almost as much as we loved listening to her.  The owners are well on their way to turning Hampton's into a true hot spot in a town that really needs some comfort food, drinks, and gathering place.

Service was also befitting a local spot - casual, informal, personable, but attentive.  No stuffed shirts here, just friends having fun enjoying themselves!  Can't wait to go back to try the Wellington burger...

Had passed by Hamptons on Sutter several times and mentally added it to the list of places to go. Finally had a chance tonight and took my parents there for dinner. A typically busy Friday night, and while service was slow at first (we were seated and waters served but didn't see a waitress for more than 10 minutes), our table and experience was transformed by Alex, who took our order and processed everything flawlessly, though we suspect, our table wasn't in her "section." Extra kudos for that! She was funny, warm and professional. Our burgers - the Black and Blue, Folsom Dam and the Classic, were cooked spot-on and my dad's iced tea was never empty. Only minor caution for those who like to converse over dinner, the live music really overwhelms the space, but was still very nice ambiance. We'll be back for sure - thanks again, Alex, and Hamptons on Sutter, for everything! :)

We went back. This time for dinner with another couple. We asked to sit outside and the host took us upstairs to th back of the place. Food an drinks were good and so was the staff.  We just couldn't see our food or each other. Sun had set and we were in the dark. No grouchy guy at the bar this time as previously posted.

First time going to Hampton' on Sutter. Worst experience ! I had a reservation and our table was given away. The food took over an hour..some which was for another table!
The food that we did get was not good!  I won't be going again! And I would not recommend to friends or family!

I want to mention I tried emailing the owner and the email addy keeps getting bumped back, so who knows.  Figured I'd yelp since nobody will be receiving my email.  I came in today for lunch and brought in a friend (a Folsom local who manages bars and has been in the industry for decades longer than I have).  We both have been eager to try the food

Let me tell you that was the worst dining experience I have had in as long as I can remember.

First, I order diet soda.  It is obviously from the bar because the carbonation is low.  I flag down the hostess (red haired gal) who was just hanging around with a dark haired kid (maybe a food runner) and asked her if she could check the carbonation in the back.  She was the one who brought the soda back, not the server (who was hanging in the bar area this whole time) saying that it was originally from the bar gun, which I had figured, so she got me one from the server area.  Apparently, my server didn't know that the drinks would taste different coming from the bar gun.

    That isn't even the beginning.

We both order the turkey avocado melt.  What a disaster.  They came out SOGGY.  And when I mean soggy it looked literally like they slathered butter on them and forgot to toast the bread.  The meat looks like lunch meat, the avocado was two thinly sliced portions of avo, and one almost melted piece of cheese wrapped up in it.  I got a salad with my sandwich, and ate a few bites of that, my friend sent hers back.  She got another sandwich that was a little better but she said the fries left much to be desired.

In addition, the sandwiches had NO aioli as listed on the menu and nobody brought out condiments (ketchup, ranch, etc.) for her fries.

The server did apologize for the food, she admitted the food is consistently inconsistent.  I won't even repeat the words she said to us.  On my worst day I would never speak badly about the place I worked, or else I wouldn't work there.  Never did we see a manager and when we inquired about if she was the MOD, she said the MOD was there but she didn't know where.

Then, we get the bill.  I was charged for our entire meal.  I can understand maybe one sandwich, but both?  Are you kidding me?  I was never offered a substitution, no chef came out to apologize.  Horrible customer service.  We didn't take it out on the server and left her a tip but this is completely unacceptable and your manager did a terrible job today.

The host came out and asked about our experience because we left my soggy sandwich and I told her I couldn't get my boyfriend to even believe the sandwich had got that soggy on the drive home and didn't want to get him sick.  She offered to tell the chef about the food but we have already paid and although her intentions were very much appreciated this is the managers job.

Just as an fyi, it was dead when we were there, including us, there were two other tables, and one upstairs and you had staff just standing around.  We counted three servers, two hosts, and one bartender just literally standing wasting your labor.  Our table was dirty.  The salt and peppers were dirty.  Not a good impression for the server to tell us the food isn't ever consistent.  Not only that, our server never introduced herself.  She seemed to not really care.  The only one who did was the host.  The host did a great job today and was the only one who really seemed to care!

The food is always consistently good.  I know that sometimes the service  is lacking, but I feel they are really trying to get a handle on this.  My server tonight was Zack, he did a fantastic job. Last time I had Andrea, and she was very attentive and personable.  Over all....I keep coming back and the place gets better.  I'll be back! Oh, and have the jalapeño Mac and cheese balls, they are not salty.  The flavor is great.

Lovely indoor and outdoor dining.  A little loud, but it's just a fun place.  Hamburgers are FANTASTIC.  Can choose the type of meat you wish it to be made with, done to your satisfaction. Numerous options of cheese, add-ons.   The onion rings in reduced Guiness batter is to die for.  Great beer and wine selection, as well as spirits.

Great location. Building gives you great options of sitting inside or out, upstairs or down. Definitely somewhere to go and not get bored. Staff is great - from my initial call to the wait staff and the owner who is engaged. Food is also wonderful. This is someplace you want to go to often.

I have been here for drinks and the bartenders are nice and the drinks are good. But we though we would try it for dinner. The food wasn't good. We ordered burgers and they came out burnt not medium. The size was small, when you are paying $14 for a burger we expected a little more and then to pay for a side of ranch for your fries is pretty lame. Also our first server took our order and said she would split checks for us (that never happened) then she never came back and we were helped by a few other servers..... we were left wondering who our server was.  The service was slow.

I have been frequenting Hampton's since they opened for business.  Bartenders are great at what they do and are very friendly.  Beer is always ice cold and the food is delicious.   You can't go wrong with the burgers, and, the Onion Rings are drizzled in a sweetened guiness sauce.  MMMMMM.  They do offer live music inside once or twice a week...it get's a little loud.  They also have outdoor seating, including a long table with a fire pit.  All in all...great place to be!

Went there on a Friday afternoon, it was not busy. The service was horrible. Items took a long time to get to our table. Things that we asked for were forgotten about, simple things, like a glass of water or a side of ranch.

My friend and I both ordered burgers medium rare. Mine was cooked perfectly, his was still raw, seared outside, but raw. The waiter comes back and says "The chef says that this is how we serve medium rare here." So either they have consistency issues on the same ticket or a chef who cant take responsibility for a mistake that is bound to happen every now and then.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Never going back to this place.

Our first trip here was for my birthday in March and it was excellent!  There was a group of about 8 of us and we sat at the fire pit table outside.  No one had a single thing to complain about and we all tried different drinks, appetizers & entrees.  The service was good, the food & drink were great and I can't wait to go again tonight to celebrate our anniversary & try something new.  The Beef Wellington Burger is an experience everyone must try!  A+~

I've been here three times and had mixed experiences.  All were for happy hour.
The first time was fantastic!  Te bartender was friendly and helpful, chatted with us, helped us select a glass of wine, and when it didn't taste right, she opened a fresh bottle without question.  She was attentive and genuinely wanted to make our experience great.
The second time was ok.  We sat at the bar and ordered our wine, but when it came time to pay, the computer was down and couldn't take credit cards.  They made one of us run down the street to an ATM for cash.  The business needs a backup plan for the next time that happens. What if we didn't have an ATM card?
The third time was also ok.  The place was packed, and I don't think the wait staff was prepared for the crowd.  I waited 15 minutes for a glass of wine!  By the time it showed up, my friend had to go and couldn't drink hers.  We were not happy.  But, the bartender was cool.  Again, he helped with the wine selection and the choice was really yummy!

Overall, I like this place.  I'd like to be able to come back and give it four or five stars.  Someday I'll have to stop in for dinner and try the food.  From what I could see at other tables, it looks delicious!  :)

Went for the first time last Wednesday.  It happened to be Karaoke night. The bartender was awesome and friendly.  The Karaoke DJ they hired was incredible.  She had great energy and was beautiful.  Didn't get a chance to try the
food but the drinks were excellent. I will be coming back.

I just tried hamptons today and was very disappointed with food. Asked for medium well and got small burnt cheeseburger. To make matters worse, kids didn't get food until 10 minutes after we got ours. Had a very nice waitress though who was constantly apologizing for kitchens lack of consistency. WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!

Meh, I guess this place deserves 3 stars.....

The service was pretty good and the patio was a great escape for a sunny day in Folsom, however the food failed to deliver.

I got the fancy burger - beef wellington, puff pastry on top of a burger patty with this broken sauce scattered around the plate. Meh.

Shawn B. got the classic burger with fries. Meh.

Definitely come here for a quick drink and maybe try an appetizer, but you were warned, the main dishes (at least the burgers) were not worth the price.

    Meh. Meh. Meh.

This place started out great. Not sure I like where it's going.

Seems like they are trying to transform from being a nice restaurant/bar to a tacky club. They just announced "Hottest Red Head Contest" & $2 beer at 6-9PM (dinner hours... not a late nite thing).

I'm not a prude, but I considered Hamptons as a classier restaurant, not a strip-club wannabe.  I take my kids here. Does anyone expect or want a hottest 'whatever' contest during dinner?? What's next... wet t-shirt contest??? C'mon. Lame.

Hampton's is a welcome new addition to Sutter Street where fresh and new eateries and shops are hard to come by these days.

They are fairly new and still working out some kinks, but they have a new chef that has really improved the food and timeliness of orders coming out of the kitchen. They have some healthy options, like the Superfood Salad, that is super yummy and good for you! Nice to have a healthy option when eating out.

My favorite part of coming here is the expansive outdoor seating. Nothing better than a cold drink and good meal while sitting in the sun!

First off, I loved the atmosphere, the decor and the hostess. The service was OK as was the food. 2 stars off for how LOUD the place was! Far louder than any restaurant ever should be. Also the food took forever to come out. We were patient considering they were busy and it was a Friday night but a table beside us actually walked out from waiting for their food for so long. On the upside the cocktails we ordered were awesome. By the time we ate we weren't sure if the food was actually good or tasted OK because we were starved. Still a cool place and I'll go back for sure.

We went here for a friend's birthday - there were 6 of us and I believe they made a reservation. My biggest problem was where we were seated. Upstairs in the back corner, under  florescent light, right by the bathroom. Downstairs seem to have a great vibe and atmosphere, not a smidgen of which existed upstairs. The food was ok. I've had better burgers and colder beer (because they kinda forget about you WAY upstairs). Creative points for the "brand" on the burger bun. Maybe my husband and I will give it another shot when we can sit downstairs at the bar or outside.

PS: I REALLY wanted to love this place. Sutter Street desperately need some GOOD restaurants.

We tried it when they first opened, then decided to give them another shot when they got some of the bugs worked out.  They have improved.  This place can be crazy busy on a weekend night, so you can expect a wait.  If you eat downstairs (ground floor), it is NOISY!!  The bar with TVs is in this room and the surfaces are hard and bounce sound like crazy.  Tight seating too.  If you are able, opt for a seat upstairs, especially one on the north deck looking toward Lake Natoma.  Best view in Folsom!  The food is expensive for what it is, but its just fine.  all in all, a good place to go to be part of the scene on Sutter Street, but you'll like it more if an alcoholic drink is part of your entertainment.  Don't go if you're just having food.

Great place on Sutter Street!  So glad that someone moved into the establishment next to the Powerhouse Pub!  Food is FANTASTIC!  We've always had great service.  My fave is the goat cheese appetizer.  Definitely a MUST have.  Heard a new menu is on the horizon, so I'm excited to see what's new on the plate!  I see a few people have put in one and two star reviews, but I've been here at least 3 to 4 times, both at dinner and at lunch and have had nothing but fantastic service AND food every time! I say, give them another go if you haven't already.  Definitely worth going to!  They've got my vote!  Thumbs up for this place that isn't OVERLY pricey like the others on the strip and they've got it down on the portion size :)

This was the first really bad dining experience I have had since visiting Toby Keith's Bar and Grill. Although this new restaurant is immaculate and has a great location in historic Folsom, it is overpriced and lacking in flavor and portion size. On our recent visit, my husband ordered a turkey melt sandwich with french fries. I ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich, also with fries. The fries were good, seasoned well, crispy, thick. However, the main dishes were awful. My Mahi Mahi was fresh but served without any garnish, and no seasoning, no avocado, no lettuce, no tomato, no lemon, or spice. The bun was soggy as well. My husband's sandwich was child size. It was served on white wonder bread and was missing the avocado slices that were supposed to be on it. The turkey was not carved meat, but rather plain old cold cuts!. This sandwich looked like something a person would casually throw together at home.
My husband did not even eat all of his sandwich because he disliked it so much. His iced tea had a fruity flavor, and he did not cafe for this either, as the waiter did not mention this. As a result, we complained and at least our waiter did comp. one of our meals. Obviously, we were highly disappointed with this new restaurant, but think it is worthy of one star because of the comped lunch.
If you must try this place, sit upstairs, as downstairs you will have to deal with the loud moving of furniture just above your head as you dine. Good luck, maybe a burger would be better here....

Warning- don't go here for lunch if you have to get back to the office. Service took forever, my food was cold, the bread for my toasted sandwich was soggy, the cheese was only half melted, and they put some weird sticky-sweet sauce all over the onion rings. The only reason they got two stars was for the Bloody Mary, it was great.

They need to hire more staff and get a decent cook or they will not be in business long.  It would also be nice to see some local or unusual beers on the menu, I can get Sierra Nevada and Newcastle anywhere.

As a Sutter Street local, I was eagerly awaiting the opening of Hampton's. The menu was classic American bar food, with a twist. My friends and I loved going here during the day for a nice salad, sandwich and beer to wash it all down. Everything was great! The food was fresh, drinks were delicious, atmosphere was casually elegant etc.

Recently, however, I have noticed a change in the atmosphere. I am much less likely to find myself wanting to go in due to the loud crowd always occupying the bar. On my last visit, I sat at the bar and ordered the ManHampton, their twist on a Manhattan, while waiting for a friend. The bartender, whom I've recognized from countless other visits, makes a rude comment to another guest at the bar while checking my ID. He says "Oh, you're a young one, huh?" to the middle-aged man sitting on my right, motioning to my ID. Completely rude.

Then my cocktail... I have had their Manhattan-like drink before and found it to be the perfect balance of sweet and bold. I was with friends, sitting on the second-floor patio, away from the bar scene. On this occasion however, the bartender made my drink far too sweet. Given the inappropriate nature of his previous comment about my ID, I assumed that he intentionally sweetened my drink, thinking that it would be more favorable. It was horrible and almost too sweet to drink. Did you throw 3 oz. of maraschino syrup in there? Ick.

I was really hoping for this spot to be the perfect balance of hip and casual to fill the void on Sutter Street. Unfortunately, it seems that the owners and management would prefer to turn their potentially shining star into just another sports bar, catering to only one facet of Folsom's culture. Too bad...

We are a part of a group of three couples who get together once a month to go to a different restaurant. We had stopped into Hampton's just for a drink when it first opened and wanted to come back sometime.

We went on a Saturday night and I was looking forward to a really good burger. I'd seen how they branded the burger buns with the Hampton's logo when we were in before. They sat us downstairs right inside the door. My only negative is that it was so loud in there it was hard for us to hear each other. Knowing it is a bar, I expected loud, but it was really loud. I'd assumed we would be sat upstairs, not knowing there was a table for six on the first floor. Next time I'll request upstairs.

Us ladies each ordered a martini and they were really good. I also had a pear cider since I don't like beer. All of the guys had beers, of which there are many from which to choose.

We ordered the Guiness onion rings for appetizers and they were amazing! I'd said that I would have one, but I couldn't stop eating them. Five of us ordered burgers, which were excellent and my husband ordered the buffalo chili, which he said was excellent as well. My only bummer was that my hamburger bun wasn't branded. Maybe they decided that was too much of a pain.

I've seen on their facebook page that they're offering breakfast now and it looks really yummy. We'll definitely try that sometime. We're also looking forward to warmer weather so we can enjoy their outdoor patio. We'll definitely be back.

I've been to Hampton's twice - once for lunch, once for dinner.  Lunch was the better of the two.  My friend and I each had a salad and split an order of calamari.  Salads were large and the calamari crisp and tasty.  Service was attentive and friendly.

Dinner on a Friday night was quite different.  A singer/guitarist was playing downstairs, and was so loud, we had to yell at the hostess.  We sat upstairs to escape the noise.  I noticed some of the downstairs bar patrons came up and hung out around the railing to get away from the loudness too.

My husband and I both got the steak sandwich.  I'm not sure what cut of beef this was, but it was so fatty and full of gristle, we had to dissect the meat and cut out all the garbage, then reassemble the sandwich.  By then there wasn't much protein left.  A nice N.Y. steak, seasoned, grilled, fat removed, then sliced would have been a better choice . It was late and we were too tired to complain.

I like the ambiance and hope they fix the food situation.  And the entertainment doesn't need a microphone.

I LOVE this place so much that after my first lunch from the scenic top-deck outdoor seating, I shared with my wife that I thoroughly enjoyed the Black & Blue Turkey Burger (they blacken the burger then smother it with blue cheese crumbles). We returned for lunch the next day. While she got the Black & Blue, I was amazed by the Garlic Steak Sandwich (chunks of tender steak covered in garlic oil)! On one of our AppeteasersUSA Restaurant Tours, I sampled a jalapeno burger and fell in love all over again. Is it possible to have three favorites? We can't wait to return for more!

O_O   Loooove is in the airrrr...   Alright, here's the deal. I'm one to go to a restaurant, know what I want, and stick with it. It is rare that I go to a restaurant and think, "I want to try this, and this- oh, and thisss..." Well, WELCOME TO HAMPTON'S!

I'm a Folsom resident and my neighbor told me about this restaurant. She and her husband had frequented it a few times in the past month. She said I had to try it. So I did... 3 times in a week and a half. -_- I hardly ever eat out because I'm not fond of bubble guts and my stomach is sensitive. (I know, what can I say?) HOWEVER, I didn't get any sort of achy stomach or 'blah' feeling after eating at Hampton's.

Here is what I ordered; each time something different:
    1. Salmon smoked salad; appetizer of buffalo wings was shared
    2. Turkey avocado melt with the cajun fries.
    3. Mushroom and swiss bison burger - yes, bison. God forgive me if I'm a part of them becoming extinct one day. It was delicious! Bison is a very lean meat and very flavorful. The fries were 'parmesan' this time. Alright alright, I'll lay off the fries! =P

Service is great; all are friendly! The ambience of the place is cozy, open, and it just feels like you're at home away from home. (Except don't read the paper in the bathroom. Just sayin')  I don't usually rave about too many restaurants and a 'five star' is hard to get! BUT they opened recently and so far they are doing all the right things!

I can't wait to go back and eat there again. There are several things I want to try.

    Great job, Hampton's! :)

This place is new so I thought I'd give it a try for dinner. It's an old house remodeled into a restaurant. You walk in and there is a bar downstairs and the dining room upstairs.

First thing you notice is all of the wood. It's bright and makes the place feel bigger but cozy at the same time. I like it.

The menu is your standard bar fare. It's all of the favorites that people like and maybe that seems to be the theme of the food selections. I didn't see a signature dish that stood out.

I tried the Rodeo burger with a side salad. It's the standard western -- BBQ, bacon, onion rings, and cheese. The bun was toasted but soft at the same time. It was branded with something but it was pretty dark in the dining room so I couldn't make it out. The burger was tender and juicy and the bacon crisp. My only compliant was there was too much cheese. You can get the burger protein style in a lettuce wrap or substitute a turkey patty. For a $2 up charge, you can get a Bison patty. I think there was a vegetarian patty option too.

My friend ordered a "super" salad and fried mac and cheese with jalapeño and bacon. The mac and cheese was interesting and worth a try; although, we didn't finish it and only ate one apiece. She said that the salad was good but not "super".

The bar looks like it would be a fun place to hang out with some friends after a hard days work. They also have lots of outdoor seating which will be nice when the weather is warmer.

Overall I can't say anything bad about this place. The food was average and what one would expect for bar food. The atmosphere was nice and it had a "fun" vibe. I'll definitely try it again.

Arrived around 8 on a Friday night and this place was poppin'.  Our server was friendly and overall the service was good.

Strawberry lemon drop was tasty!  Ordered the jalapeño fried mac n cheese...yummm!! It was one of those foods that you bite into and instantly think, oh man, I really shouldn't be eating this but oh well and eat it anyways. Very good flavor and nice crispy outside.  My grilled mushroom and onion burger was delightful! It exceeded my expectations in taste and quantity! Although it didn't look overly large, it was quite filling and I really enjoyed the freshness of the homemade patty.  The parmesan garlic fries were good too (extra $0.50).  The only thing I think could be better is the ketchup. Hubs and I are huge ketchup fanatics and like the taste of pure Heinz ketchup, not ketchup mixed with other special ingredients.

Hubs and I agreed although we live far, we would definitely go back the next time we are in that area. Go check it out! :)

This place is still trying to figure out how to operate properly, so figure on having some issues while they find their way.  Building is very nicely done, it is a historic house in Folsom.

Food is ok, but I think expensive for what you get (habmurgers are $9-12), sandwiches are $10-12).   Beer selection is good, average restaurant pricing of  $4-6 per glass.  Happy hour is 4-6 a buck off some beers and some apps at $2 off, but it is only at the bar (not the tables around the bar - very strange).

Happened to walk by this place on opening night.  Love the location, right on Sutter street, next to Chicago Fire (my other favorite restaurant).  Walked in to great music, atmosphere, service, and drinks...loved what they have done to the place: all the hardwood made it feel like we were in Tahoe or Yosemite.

The building is a repurposed house, and it still retains that atmosphere (a good thing!).  You enter into the living room, lots of seating, great bar, and then there are stairs off to the right that leads you upstairs.  Cozy seating there, with a wrap around upper balcony with patio seating, and then stairs off the back patio that leads to additional lower level patio seating/dining.

We'd already eaten at Samuel Horne's so we just had drinks at the bar (delicious strawberry lemon drop) and the lemon sabayon for dessert.  Amazing.

Service was great- the bartenders, Josh and Jason, had the perfect attitude: friendly, service-oriented, and attentive.  The general feel was excitement to be at opening night, everyone was in good spirits..great energy.

Looking forward to going back and trying the food.

It's been a long wait for this place to open up but tonight was the night. The menu is bigger than I though it was going to be but we were more or less is the mood for bar food. We ordered a few Sierra Nevadas (nice selection on tap), the calamari appetizer and we split a burger. The calamari was in strips and not "rings" like I'm accustomed to but who cares. It was outstanding. The coating was crisp and they were obviously prepared on site (not frozen). The portion was meal-sized and we couldn't finish it so took about half of it home. I think it cost about $8.

The burger was the best I've had in Folsom and maybe within 100 miles of here...and that is saying something since we've got Relish, Smashburger, and recently, Habit closeby. Fresh, high-quality beef cooked to order served with fresh produce, a nice bun and more fries than you can eat. It too was about $8. Three premium beers, the appetizer, the burger and a cup of clam chowder (just ok) totalled less than $40.

There were other selections on the menu including a pasta dish, fish n chips, great looking sandwiches and a Beef-Wellington burger which I would have ordered if I was hungrier at that time.

The decks are very inviting and the staff is solid. Definitely going back.
