Clyde's is the cutest restaurant with such a cozy and quaint appeal! I came here for the first time with very dear friends and had such a great time. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, highly recommend this restaurant!

This place is great! They have the best appetizers... oysters and the tacos are delicious! It's such a beautiful place and always packed with familiar faces. I love all the bartenders, and especially love the half priced wine on Monday.

She said..."So I have been here twice, and both times I have not been impressed. Once was just at the bar for drinks and bar food and the second time was a family dinner. The drinks were expensive and not good and the dinner was nothing spectacular either, especially for being so pricey. I got the house special the night we went which was steak, mashed potatoes and veges. The steak tasted like it had been frozen, very tough and dry. For being a 25$ steak, I would except a little more. Prob won't ever come back to eat, or drink."

He said..."Eh, this place could be better, their cost to taste ratio is not worth it. I got some concoction of a soup with an egg and it was "eh". Nothing on the menu made me go wow, I need to go back. Eh...eh..and eh.."

Parking was a little difficult. There's a parking lot that holds some cars and valet but also street parking. Made reservations and waited a few minutes but it is one of the Clydes that has better dishes. We went to Willow Creek afterwards and although the outdoor seating was nice and beautiful, the food wasn't as good as Tower Oaks. Good waiters and try the coffee after dinner, it's a special blend made specifically for Clydes from Quatermaine's.

Their seafood is excellent. I definitely enjoy happy hours on Mondays when absolutely delicious oysters are sold 1/2 price. Those bad boys go very well with light white wine. I could eat them non-stop! :0)

We went for Father's day, with my wife and my parents. The decor was awesome, and the staff was very friendly and fast. My wife and I ordered 2 different types of eggs benedicts and we split them. They were absolutely perfect and to die for. Clearly this is a review based on a brunch and only one time but we are 100% going back in the very near future.

Manager Mark is WHACK I tried to use my Rockville Rewards card, that I bought specifically for clydes. the terms are simple according to http://rockvillerewards.…
Clyde's Tower Oaks Lodge - Complimentary appetizer per table or party if seated at the bar.

They tried to tell me I had to order an entree to get it. I've tried to use it 3 times now, every time I tell the server I have the card and try to use it they always forget to comp my appetizer. I've spent a good $500 in the last month at Clyde's. always tipping 20% and always getting shitty service. Maybe if people started tipping these servers bad they would speed up service. I understand it gets busy, I work in a restaurant too but thats not an excuse to mess up orders.

The manager constantly plays around and doesn't do the comp, this is a huge establishment doing at least ten thousand dollars in business a night, and they can't honor a appetizer comp that they offer. That's just flat out WHACK if you ask me. Why even bother joining rockville rewards if your not going to honor it. They basically scam people.

I'll be coming less and will definitely be telling people to come less as well, not an honest business, terrible management, terrible service.

Oysters are still good, and wine is fine if you can get it in a timely manner.

I had my 21st birthday here on Wine Night...best night ever. If you sit at the bar, look for a Justin Timberlake look-a-like named Devin, he is the best bartender ever and the reason me and my friends go back.

This place was kicking!

I have eaten many times at the Clyde's in Columbia, but this place was spectacular. It reminded me of the grand lodge at Yellowstone.

We got there at 11AM for lunch and requested a window seat (which we got).

It filled up rapidly between 11-12 and when we left, there was a huge wait for seats.

I got the veggie tacos, they were delicious!

Overall, this place had it all, ambiance, service and food.

Oh, and if you ask for hot sauce, they bring you Tabasco, at the Columbia location, they bring you a small bowl. I prefer the bottle.

This place is HUGE. And I like the rustic cabin design/feel. The hostess and our servers were very friendly, and i'm always impressed by the way they deliver the food (5-6 dishes lined up 1 arm). We were a group of 14, and they were able to accommodate us quite easily.

For appetizers, we had the Blueberry Muffin (pecan-streusel topping and honey butter) for $3.95, Crab And Artichoke Dip (served warm with a baguette) for $10.95, and Fried Calamari (w/ pickled banana peppers, watercress and sweet thai chili sauce) for $10.95. All excellent.

And for my entree, I had the Crossfit Breakfast (scrambled egg whites, strawberry-yogurt & granola mason jar parfait, chicken sausage, seasonal fruit, and multi-grain toast) for $15.95. I'd say this was definitely the highlight. Healthy and plentiful and pretty good price.

By the end, I was very satisfied and for not that much money.

four stars for the "Ambiance" . the place is reallyy beautiful, its just fun to sit there, and they have a late night happy hour too, for the classier people who dont want to end up in a diner. now thats a major plus!(what if ur really dressed up, want to eat cheap, and dont want to feel awkward in a tacky lil place?) yes! tower oaks would be ur destination...

as far as the food goes, the steak was really yummy, the rest of the food, super MEH...super average...but for the experience, order chips and just chill here...its so pretty!

This is my second review of Clydes Tower Oaks. We went there last week and had the May Special - Alaskan Halibut. It was excellent ! The fish was served on a bed of barley & mushrooms and topped with shaved asparagus and a lemon butter sauce. I definitely recommend it. The Strawberry Shortcake dessert is also the real deal with the cake part being a light homemade biscuit.

Ordered the French dip 10.50 ... Happy hour prices $4 for beers on tap.

The decor and outside lighting is nice. Its got a rustic outdoorsy theme. Parking sucks big time but the have parallel parking options.

This is a really nice place to eat or simply have a drink.

Actually, it is sort of my local place that I go to when I need to have a chat with my mom or dad away from home. We sit at the bar, have a few drinks and talk about all the crap going on in our family; certainly cannot do that at home around the wife :)

We occasionally go for Sunday brunch as well - it is not like a buffet or anything, but they do offer a special brunch menu.

Service - I would say the service is just below my expectations. I do not recall a bartender or a waiter/watiress being friendly. I do notice the bartenders serve the local or more frequent customers much better than they do me - and I have a lot of family problems, so you would think I would be considered a regular :)

Food - The dishes are quite creative and different. It is a sort of mix between bar food and steak and seafood house. Go figure. it is called The Lodge.

I hear it is a fantastic place for Lunch, but I am never around during the day.

Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

FYI - the place can be quite a meat market depending on the time of your visit.

Also, valet parking is free. But of course, if you do not tip, you will be cast as a mutant to our society!!

This is a very original restaurant to the least. It takes you away to Ski Lodge vacation mode. Just picture your dad Is a hunter and he has all of his "animal" trophies laying and hanging around! I was ready to throw on my ski suit and hit some slopes. Lol.

Anywhoooo. The service here is attentive and refreshing "being that some waiters in the industry should be doing something else" I give them an A +. The crab dip was just ok but I won't hold it against them. It's really hard to do it just right. However my flash fried trout was AMAZZZZZIIIIING!

This is by far the most beautiful Clyde's location. Nestled between trees, and built like a log cabin, the entire experience feels like a getaway. It's certainly the most romantic setting.

As usual, the service was fantastic, and the food even better.

Tip: We had the Elvis pound cake for dessert, which contained banana, chocolate chips, and peanut butter. Beyond delicious!

I really enjoy this place for happy hour (both regular and late night). The best part is the 1/2 priced raw bar. Thus far, it is my favorite place to get fresh oysters in the DC metro. The truffle chips with the french onion dip are also amazing (I live and breathe for truffles)!!

NOM tip: Ask your server which oysters are the freshest that day before choosing which ones you want to try.

I really want to give 3.5 stars. Went here for brunch on Sunday and the food was pretty good. I had corned beef hash and the wife had a galaway omlette (Dubliner cheese, fried oysters and chives). The food was tasty. The eggs for the hash were cooked perfectly, just at over easy. The omlette was tasty also, though the side potatoes were just average. The coffee was a bit over priced. 4 stars for food and service. 3 stars for price, so a 3.5 rating.

I also had there valentines day dinner which was very good.

Whenever I have some special day with my good friends I go to Clyde's.
2 times for Lunch, Food was good. Always best part being this place is beautiful decorations which remind me of Colorado Cabin in mountain where I used to visit and stayed. A few days ago Chrismas Eve, I visited late night 10pm they were still open until 1 am, which made me so happy because I could not find any good restaurant that late. Only I feel a little disappointed that night when waiter was stressed with too many people and was not able to serve well.
But I will always go to Clyde's whenever I have special day again and again.

I wasn't sure about reviewing this place. The reason being is that I don't know how to classify it. I usually review a place by comparing it against others of its class and this one has me kind of confused. But this is what I can say, if this is a fine-dinining restaurant, then it sucks. If it's a sports bar, it's not bad at all. If it's a casual dining type of place, it's not bad either.

When it comes to service, the few times I've been here have been excellent. Bartenders, waiters and waitresses have always been awesome. But when it comes to food, hmmmm...that's one of my confusions. I'd say the food is not bad at all, but it's nothing that would leave you talking about it like some great unique restaurants. The one thing that really impressed me though was the vegeterian burger. it was really good. Aside from that, everything I've had has been pretty average.

As far as decoration and ambiance, the place is huge and that's kind of a turn off for me. I prefer smaller intimate places. I think this place is also going for a country-house type of feel, and this is another turn-off for me. I'm as city as it gets.

Overall, the place is not bad. I don't mind coming here for lunch and/or drinks after work. I don't know that I would come here on a date or fancy dinner.

Went here for a late night snack with friends. I had the wings. The wings were good, but I wish that the skin was more crispy.

We did order the jumbo shrimp cocktail. It was outstanding and we saved a few bucks. I tried an oyster too, very good. In fact, my friend and her husband swear that they're the best oysters in town.

I'll be back. I like this Clyde's a lot because of the location and decor.

Am I the only person who thinks Clyde's are all seriously overrated? The bread they serve is cold, although, to be fair, the butter was nicely soft and spreadable. We had the artichoke dip, which was meh. Then guy had the filet mignon with the potato cake and I had the salmon. My salmon was pretty flavorless, and I was surprised because the glaze was BBQ. There was a strange bean cake with it, fried leeks that mainly tasted fried, and a cooked to death corn muffin. Dessert was better - the bread pudding was very rich and sweet. It would have been better if my water had been refilled sometime in the last 45 minutes, so I could intersperse the intense richness with a little water to cut it.

I have to say I was thoroughly impressed by my first visit at Tower Oaks Lodge. This location is off the beaten path, in a very romantic setting. It's kind of like fine dining in the middle of the woods. Service was EXCELLENT, food was EXCELLENT and the entire vibe was good. The prices weren't what I expected though. They were better! Overall I was quite impressed with my visit at Tower Oaks Lodge and will be back.

Encourage everyone to consider them for events,
one of the best venues in the area, plus affordable.

Cool vibe, excellent tacos & happy hour grub, but otherwise boring menu. I have been coming to Clyde's Tower Oaks for years now, both for dinners and happy hours. I have walked away from every dinner unsatisfied, but feeling full and good after happy hours.

Service here is great at the bar, but table service is really inconsistent. There are times when the server will not give you a single soda refill the whole time, or not bother to ask how your food is after dropping it at the table. This can really mess up dinner for a person who needs some ketchup or hot sauce to perk up some of their bland dishes. This can also mess things up for someone who put on too much hot sauce and needs something more to drink.

My last dinner visit left me so unhappy, that I vowed to never visit the cute little ski lodge again for an actual meal. I will, however, be back for those hard/soft double layered tacos, wings, and happy hour drinks.

Oh yeah, parking at night is also a mess.

Excellent black-eye pea soup, and the irish stew was good, if a bit insubstantial. Probably worth 4 stars if the server didn't disappear for extended periods of time and interrupted less.

I really like the ski/hunter lodge feel to it. I was there for happy hour and the bartender girl was really nice and friendly. I suspect my friends there to be regulars since they were on first name basis with everyone there. In any case, I enjoyed my time there.

I had the Irish Lamb Stew or something. It was pretty good. The lamb "smell" was very present. I don't know if I like that aspect of lamb or not. In any case, I'd come here again if not for the ambiance.

Disclaimer: Since moving to New York, my standards for food and service have shot up faster than Psy's fame after Gangnam Style. Perhaps that's why my first visit here for brunch in years fell below my expectations from memories of previous visits.

The place is huge and the decor is quite calming and classy, which is a nice change from the suburban strip mall restaurant decor common in MoCo and the cramped spaces of Bethesda restaurants. It's a beautiful space, and a great place to take family for brunch or dinner as it pretty much is one of a kind in this area.

Food is solid and reliable, albeit a bit boring. One of the few unique dishes on the brunch menu is the Eggs Chesapeake, which is a delicious twist on Eggs Benedict. The crabcakes were good, though a bit small, but the whole thing is very, very filling. Everything else is meh - better than chain restaurants (and much more expensive), but not mindblowingly, OMG-I-need-to-come-back amazing. The mimosas ($4 during brunch!) and drinks are good too.

All this would have probably garnered it four stars, but the service and the treatment....This place reeks of snobbery, especially towards people not of its traditional clientele (if you get my drift). When I took my mother here for brunch, the manager checked on every table except ours. He completely bypassed ours and ignored us. Our water never came and we had to ask a few times for them to bring us a pitcher. Our waiter and the hostess seemed slightly condescending.

It also wasn't just us. The couple behind us were also not like its traditional clientele and they waited 30 min-1 hour for a table, despite the fact that the restaurant was half-empty! They came into the restaurant and put their names down right after us and weren't seated until we were finishing up.

I'm not saying they were discriminating since they did apologize profusely to that couple, but it just seems like there is a trend that if you are not members of the traditional cliente, they don't pay as much attention to you. Nothing overt, but just enough to ruin your meal.

Overall, I wish I could say I would never come back but sadly, MoCo is lacking in decent restaurants...

Since I wrote my review I have been back more times than I can count... This is my favorite place to go!

I love Clyde's! They have great food and great staff! (I adore all of you!!!)

My favorite things on the menu are the wings and the chicken caesar salad. But they also have some seriously delicious burgers and sandwiches and a ton of other good yummies on the menu!

The crowd is great and it is such a comfortable place to go out and have a good time. Cozy, cozy, cozy!!!

I love Clyde's.. I can't say it enough!

Love the decor and art work here! It has a very huntsman and outdoorsy feel to it. It feels like you are in an upscale log cabin.

The food here is excellent. I was here for happy hour and had the roasted corn and the wings. The beer selection is very good. I also had the Chateruerie Board and it was enough for a meal. Great selection of cheeses and meats!

I wish I could find Moscato d'Asti like theirs! I usually come at night during late night happy hour or 1/2 Wine on Mondays. I really like to get the House Chips, Calamari, and the WINGS!!!!

Parking, though (especially on Mondays), sucks so much. AND BE CAREFUL IF YOU'RE DRINKING! There's usually a cop somewhere on the road near Clyde's looking to give DUIs.

Clyde's consistently serves good food and provide good customer service. It's a great place to bring out of town guests for a place that uniquely belongs to the DC area.

I used to work at Clyde's (not this location) many years ago and they really stressed the importance of great customer service and doing what it takes to make the customers happy. Feel free to ask for substition if you don't like what you see on the menu or make something up. If they have the ingredients and not too swamp, they will cook it for you.

Been coming here on & off for the past 10 or so years. Everytime I start to like this place, something happens where I knock it back down? Hard to pin-point....

Ok, parking is a royal pain. I've never been a fan of valet parking. The lot was designed poorly. most of the lot to the left is for valet parking and the tiny area to the right is the regular lot which means you'd better get there early! Oh wait, I should re-word: the regular lot really should be the street parking.....! Ugh..... but not nearly as bad as Bethesda!

It has really been maintained well for the past decade. The bathrooms are huge and really clean! The food is consistent. Some things are really good, others are so- so? No real complaints from me.

Monday nights are the nights to come here. 1/2 price bottles of wine? I'm not really a wine drinker, but you get a really nice mix of people here, especially the ladies, who obviously have abandoned other locations in Rockville. (do you hear me Timpanos??)
I was told that leftovers can be taken out. They'll cork it and put the bottle(s) in a bag for you. Nice!

When you leave, especially on a Friday night, go out by way of Wooten Parkway. The county's finest tend to hang out by the EMC building just waiting for you to whizz on by or drive without remembering to turn your headlights on. It is quicker to get to I-270 this way, but just warning you!

I don't really know any of the bartenders here, but Danielle who always remembers that you're a customer and treats you with respect! Thx Danielle!

I went to Clyde's Tower Oaks Lodge for lunch with some colleagues. I work close to this location, and have passed by it every day, and the exterior is so strange looking with its large wooden gate-thing that even it alone would make one curious to see what's inside.

Our group of 4 made reservations, so we were seated promptly in one of the most interesting interiors I have ever seen. The room has warm lighting and is PACKED with camping/lodge items such as fake animals, wooden decor, barrels, roof hangings, Christmas lights, and other weird oddities that somehow combine to make an extremely charming setting.

I ordered a Falafel "Burger," which came within 15 minutes. It was good, but nothing to get excited over. I really enjoyed how well cooked and seasoned the chick pea croquette on the burger was, though. It came with a side of slightly soggy fries.

One thing I was impressed by, though, was the depth and variety of their menu. There really is something for anyone with any taste at Clyde's, which is great.

Clyde's is a nice place, if you're looking for a warm (slightly on the pricey side) gathering with friends or colleagues, especially due to its decor. My food was decent, but I think the appeal in Clyde's is more in its ambiance than what one is actually eating / drinking.

Huge fan of Tower Oaks Lodge! But I have to say the last time we went was not very impressive. I think it had much to do with our waitress. She was pretty bad! I usually give staff a break but this girl did not know the difference between Hot crab soup & COLD mushroom soup. Really slow and by far the worst service we have ever had there.
We will go back but we will make sure to sit at the bar!

Clydes likes to satisfy. They are attentive and friendly.
Don't expect them to tell you the drink or food specials though.
Read the board on your way to the bar.
Thursday $1.50 tacos and $4 Margaritas, Yuengling and Miller Lite $3 from 3 till close. Their Ritas are some of the best around.
PBR for $3 every day. I'll take the can, no glass.
Bar Menu has steamed shrimp $8 for half pound, which is tastier than the shrimp cocktail.
Burgers here are good, Chix Sandwich #1 always pleases.
How about fresh cut fries to replace frozen taters?
Friday there is no happy hour, so be prepared for $6 beers and $8-10 drinks.
But hey, it's Rockville. Welcome to the hood.

A group of co-workers had lunch here today to say goodbye to our beloved boss, who is moving on. We were in no hurry, which was respected by our server. The service was excellent from start to finish, although I was a bit nervous when the server brought out 5 salads stacked on his arm!
The baja fish tacos were ordered by 3 of us, and we all enjoyed them. A great combination of haddock, salmon and calmari offered a rich flavor yet light texture. Very generous 3 per plate. The ambiance was wonderful, a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. A great place to escape reality for a while.
