Trinity definitely fills a void in Norton. It provides a pretty good menu, a decent sized bar, spacious booths and a separate room which can be used for more private functions, live music and other entertainment, and a decent little outdoor patio to take advantage of during the warmer months. All in all it's a pretty good spot with a casual vibe. I have been here several times over the past few years, and here are some main points:
- Food: Middle of the road to above average for the area. Their menu used to be a bit more adventurous closer to when they first opened, and I'm actually glad that they have narrowed it down to some more "standard" fare. It seems a little more consistent and is easier to order from when you are going with a group because there is something for everyone. From the appetizers, I have had the Grilled Flatbread Bruschetta (good but not as sturdy/stiff as one might hope..it sort of sagged under the weight of the toppings), the Trinity Nachos (really big portion), the Buffalo Chicken Dip (yum...great size for sharing and tasty!), and the Grown Up Tater Tots (thumbs up, especially for the red pepper aioli for dipping). In the world of entrees, I have tended to go with the build your own burgers which have been pretty decent all around. The BBQ smokehouse burger has also been in my rotation. The Buffalo Mac n Cheese is also worth ordering. A half portion still leaves leftovers, so order wisely!
- Drinks: I tend to get beer and they have a pretty decent selection of bottled and draft beers. Not a lot I can really weigh in on here other than good! Feels like more of a beer place, but folks definitely drink wine and mixed drinks here too. Just depends on the crowd that night. I had a gin and tonic here one time and regretted it though...terrible mixing, although I am sure I also could have asked for a step above their well gin.
- Service: Pretty hit or miss. Don't go here if you are under a time crunch as it can sometimes take five minutes or more just to be greeted after you are seated. One time my family and I literally had to go to the bar to ask where our server was because we hadn't even seen her for a full ten minutes and we needed to pay our check and get going. (Also, I understand that servers need breaks, but ask someone else to just eyeball us every now and then to make sure we're doing okay). The servers are usually quite friendly though.
One of my girlfriends and I decided to go to Trinity for Friday night since they have live music. Â The atmosphere was great with a mixed crowd all enjoying their Friday evening. Â We started with some appetizers which were typical bar food selection but I would recommend the mozzarella sticks to anyone because the outside seasoning is just amazing. Â Our waitress was very friendly even suggesting we could go dance and leave our stuff as no one would bother it. Â We had great drinks (which were nice and strong) and better laughs. Â Everyone was friendly and we were all talking across tables. Â Someone or something got sprayed by a skunk outside and we all had a good laugh as people realized the smell that was outside. Â It was a friendly place where conversation and good times were to be had. Â Definitely one of our better nights out.
Review Source:Not worth going to. Â Hostess was rude, cared more for the people at the bar. Â Sat us near a super loud party. Â Food was beyond lousy, waitress had an attitude, and the dining room looks more like a Korean nail salon, nothing Irish about it. Â Wouldn't go back for a free meal. Â Look somewhere else!
Review Source:Having tried most of the incarnations of this restaurant location over the years, we never bothered to try the latest, Trinity. Then, they showed up in a booth at the Attleboro Farmers' Market a few weeks ago, and I sampled the best pumpkin soup I've ever tasted. Last night, we decided to give it a try, despite all of the lukewarm reviews on here.
We were shocked at the layout when we walked through the door, as it was unrecognizable from the last time we were in the building. Â It's open, clean and roomy- even at the bar, which is huge. Â We sat comfortably at the bar and had good service. Â Trinity has a good beer selection- both draught and bottled, as well as a full range of spirits and some house cocktails.
The menu didn't hold many surprises and I was a little disappointed that the pumpkin soup wasn't a regularly featured item, but there was plenty to choose from. Â We started with the boneless buffalo wings. Â We were thrilled that there was an option to order them grilled and unbreaded- they were delicious and the order was generous, with lots of carrots and celery on the side. Â The sauce was good and the chicken was tender and had good grilled taste.
We split a ceasar salad and were again pleased that we were given another great option- with or without anchovies. Â We ordered them with. Â The salad was a typical restaurant ceasar, but the lettuce was crisp and cold, there were plenty of croutons and the anchovies on top were a perfect addition. Â Again, the salad was a very generous serving.
My husband ordered a bacon-cheddar burger. Â It was delicious. Â The beef itself had a great charbroiled flavor, although we could have done with a bit more seasoning. Â It was cooked perfectly and wasn't the dense hockey-puck so many restaurants serve today. Â The roll was a perfect accompaniment and the sweet potato fries, as someone else mentioned, were probably krinkle-cut McCain's, but they were fine.
I was torn between the Irish Stew, the Shepard's Pie and the Fish & Chips, all of which are advertised as house specialties, with the fish & chips receiving a little more fanfare on the menu as the most-ordered item. Â I asked the woman taking our order what she'd recommend and she only hesitated a second before saying the fish & chips, which I then ordered.
I hardly ever order fish & chips because it's usually mushy, flavorless or tastes like the oil it was fried in. Â I was in for a treat. Â First of all, the serving was HUMONGOUS. Â We were joking that they'd put the entire fish on my plate. Even with a generous dousing of lemon, the coating was super crisp and flavorful, down to the last bite, and not at all greasy/oily. Â The fish itself was sweet, flaky and flavorful and perfectly cooked. Â It was some of the best fried fish I've ever had. Â The tartar sauce was also delicious, although the fish didn't need it. Â The fries were fine, albeit a little soggy from being served under the fish. Â The coleslaw was pretty garden variety and I left most of it.
At this point, we were STUFFED, so we didn't even bother looking at the dessert options. Â However, my husband couldn't resist ordering a 'Mini Guinness Shooter.' Â It's a shot made with Patron XO Cafe and Bailey's. Â At room temp, the Bailey's sits neatly atop the dark Patron Cafe, looking like a tiny Guinness. Â Our server, however, recommended the shooter chilled and chilled the glass which, for some reason, causes the two to mix. Â We were fine with that, and I took a tiny sip before my husband to the shot. Â It was delicious and a perfect cap to the meal. Â
TL;DR:
All in all, we had a great experience at Trinity. Â It is typical pub food - burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, pasta, salads and a few Irish favorites. Â Prices were average especially when considering the large servings. Â Staff was friendly and helpful. Â If you're in the neighborhood and looking for decent food or a couple of drinks in a comfortable, friendly, clean setting, Trinity would be a great choice. Order a burger or the fish and chips. If the pumpkin soup shows up on the menu, order it and some for home.
Not that bad. Â The Hubbs and I decided to try it after driving by it for years. Â After looking over the menu we decided to try the corned beef panini (Well we are at a Irish Bar) with sweet potato fries and the buffalo chicken mac and cheese. Â When we ordered the mac and cheese we asked for the half order because we saw the size of the regular and it was HUGE! Â Well when we got our order it looked like the waitress did not hear when we said half and when we told her of this she was very apologetic about the mix up. Â The portions are a nice size as half of the Panini was taken home along with about three quarters of the mac and cheese. When it came time for the bill the waitress apologized again for the mix up and only charged us for the half.
Review Source:I have been to Trinity three times. The first time the service was horrible and slow, but the food was really good so we decided to go back. We figured even though it was slow maybe it was just our server. Mistake. The service was even worse the second time. We sat at our table for more than fifteen minutes without even being greeted by our server. She finally came over to take our drink and food order and the rest of the service was still horribly slow. The third time we went in was just for drinks-- how could you go wrong just ordering a drink at the bar? Again we were completely ignored waiting for a drink. We will never go back. Too bad because the food is actually decent.
Review Source:Came here with a bunch of friends last Friday night and I'd definitely come back.  There was about 7 of us and we were all able to sit together right at the bar. The bartender came over quickly and took all our orders in a timely and friendly manner. We all ordered a few rounds and i ended up splitting the margherita pizza with my boyfriend. It was delicious and a decent size but my only complaint was it took forever to come out. The bartender apologized for the wait and ended up giving me a drink on the house.. not too shabby. There is an outside patio with tvs and plenty of seating but it was way too humid out for that. My hair was looking too cute. This is definitely a hidden gem in a random town called Norton and I'd recommend coming  here to watch a game.
Review Source:We've been here a few times and always had a good experience. Â The food may not be the best but it's good and the ingredients are pf good quality. Â My girlfriend loved a salad they used to have on the menu, it had shrimp in it. Â It seems they removed it from the menu recently. Â The outdoor seating there is outstanding. Â If you like to sit outside, in the sun or under the stars, this is a great place to be. Â Also, the bartender makes the drinks strong. Â So, they may be a little pricey but you will ger your money's worth! Â Staff has always been friendly...4 stars!
Review Source:I was unimpressed with my initial experience, but I will give them another try.
Lots of folks are talking about the decor and I can say that it's fine. Good, open floor plan, roomy booths etc. The TVs were on, but the volume was appropriate and the bartender was responsive to requests from the patrons to change channels. The bathroom smelled too strongly of bleach, which I suppose is better than the alternative...
There was live music outside on the patio, but not inside, although there were posters for the band to play later tonight, so there will be more noise later.
Now on to the food: The menu choices are not overwhelming, but not surprising either. Burgers, sandwiches, some Irish pub choices (bangers and mash, shepherd's pie and the like).
For an app, we split the Buffalo Chicken Dip and it was good. The first bite failed to "wow" but after that it settled in nicely. The flavor was good, and like I said, got better as we went along. It's a good dish for those who want to "wade" into the buffalo experience. It was very mild, not to hot.
For entrees, we both got burgers. They were good, not great. As a positive, this place seems to have cooks that understand burger temperatures. I asked for medium well and that's what I got. You'd be surprised how many places can't seem to handle this. You either get a hockey puck, or a burger blackened on the outside and pink and runny in the middle.
The fries left a LOT to be desired. They were undercooked, under seasoned and just plain bad. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that they came from a frozen bag.
The Service: Our server was very polite and professional. The pace of our meal was also just plain bad, like the fries. I don't know where the blame should sit, with the waitress, or the kitchen, but there was WAYYYY too long a wait for our app, and even longer for the burgers. My inclination is that the kitchen was the issue.
All in all an OK dining experience. Like I said, unimpressed, but not to the point of avoidance. I will give them another try, but will not order anything with fries...
Pleasantly greeted immediately upon entering, an open floor plan, whereever you sit you can pretty much see everything, very much a bar/grill feel, distressed but homey decor. I had the calamari which was delicious, the banana pepper were a little too salty, my hubby had the hummus, loved it. I had the cheese pizza, and I am not usually a fan of thin crust this was very good, hubby had the prime rib, and though it was good, I am not a big fan of prime rib being served covered in gravy. It wasn't too busy and was relatively quiet, it is someplace I will def try again.
Review Source:We have tried this place a few times hoping each time our experience gets better, it only gets worse every time. Â We didn't think the service could get any slower, but we were wrong. Â We told the hostess/waitress at the front desk that we wanted to wait for an outside table, she said she had someone checking out and it would be about 5 mins so we said we'd grab a beer at the bar while we waited (the bar was not busy at all and she saw where we were sittng at the end of the bar). Â About 15 minutes had gone by and she never came to get us and walked by us several times without a word. Â I don't think she even remembered who we were. Â Don't waste your time going here, the food isn't worth the loooooong time you will have to wait! Â I'm not basing this review on this one experience, but as whole, EVERY time we go there the service is horrible, we have definitely taken this place off the list. Â Very inexperienced waitstaff who could care less about you. Â We complained to the bartender that the service is horrible as we were paying our tab and the people next to us agreed, they had to actually come inside the restaurant to find their waitress for a 'to go' box for their food because they were tired of waiting for her. Â Seriously....go somewhere else.
Review Source:Not a bad place to spend a Friday/ Saturday night with a few buddies. I was there yesterday for the first time. Â The live band Frayed knott was pretty darn good. Â It looks like they'd have a cool spot for summer drinks too. Â Prices are very decent for beer and a few apps. Â Let's get to the food. Â The crowd is definitely 30+. Wait staff get's an A+
This is NOT a place for foodies! Â Yes we were there for late apps, but it is clear that the fries were prepackaged/frozen and the buns on the sliders and burger were not fresh. Â The pulled pork in the sliders lacked seasoning, but weren't bad. Â My cousin said the burger was good minus the bun. All in all pricing was very fair. Â I'd go again to hear the band or grab a beer, but NOT for food! Food C-
They have some interesting things on their menu. I had their buffalo chicken wrap and it was good. The person I went with absolutely loved their meal. The place definitely has great deals going on when you go on game-days and certain nights. The service was mediocre, it took awhile for someone to come to our table, but once they got to us the waitress was very nice. The building looks better on the inside than the outside. Lunch for 2 people was around $15! Their bar is also large in size.
Review Source:This place would be nice with the lovely remodeling job if it weren't a split personality.... Cozy, and homey with sconces and neutral green paints then 12 feet over a bar with super loud big screen tbs blaring at max even on a Sunday a.m., even hooked for sound to the bathrooms so you never miss a screaming whistle.
As another patron wrote, there is little to do in Norton and few places for a bite. Â Here you can get a tasty, if overpriced burger (not much else) served by slow staff, from an even slower kitchen.
The only clientele which really appreciates this business are the night creatures coming for the bands and the booze and leaving graffiti on the bathroom walls.
Incidentally, there is no changing station for babies, a minor oversight in the remodel, or maybe it is their way of being family unfriendly.
I really like Trinity in concept, just not so much in execution. Â They claim to be an Irish pub, but I really don't see it. Â They do have a couple of the classic Irish pub menu offerings, but overall I would say their menu seems a bit... confused. Â They have seafood, pizza, steak, pasta, sandwiches, and a very confusing array of appetizers (hummus, meatballs, and pulled pork sliders?)... it's just an overall identity crisis if you ask me. Â
I've eaten here a couple of times now, and none of their entrees have wowed me. Â During my last visit, I ordered the grilled chicken bruschetta sandwich, and I was downright disappointed. Â It was very bland tasting, and I didn't taste any of the cheese or balsamic they claimed were in there. Â I only ate half, then donated the other half to my boyfriend's lunch box for the following day. Â He came home that evening and also said the sandwich wasn't all that great... and he'll eat pretty much anything faster than his brain is able to register how it tastes. Â The sweet potato fries look suspiciously similar to the frozen McCain crinkle cut sweet potato fries, so don't waste the $1.50 on the upgrade from regular fries. Â I will say, however, that their buffalo wings are pretty decent! Â 8 Wings came completely smothered with a very spicy and tasty buffalo sauce on a plate with carrot sticks, celery, and blue cheese dressing. Â However, with Wendell's (creator of the world's most perfect buffalo wing) being right down the street, I highly doubt I'll be coming to Trinity just for buffalo wings.
What I would consider returning to Trinity for is the outdoor bar. Â For some reason, outdoor bars very hard to come by in this area, so I applaud their decision to build a very nice outdoor bar and patio area. Â So consider Trinity for some drinks outside on a warm summer night, but don't waste your money on eating a full dinner there.
Trinity is a great addition to the Norton/Attleboro area. I have had dinner and of course have broken in the bar as well. I have stuck to the basics here, soups, appetizers, wings which were tasty and on special during a Bruins playoff game. Very nice HD tvs in the bar area and the bartender on duty this particular afternoon was attentive. Guinness was poured to perfection and there was a large selection of beers to choose from.
Review Source:This place is great! I stopped in here on a weekday with my boyfriend, and we greeted immediately! The waitress was very friendly, and informative. We got appetizers to start, and when they came out, the portions were so big we were too full to eat a meal. When the bill came, it turns out all appetizers were half off. We were so surprised, our bill came to under $15!
I would definitely come back.
Full Disclosure: I was a regular at the old Harry O's, and I've never quite gotten over the fact that it closed, and turned into Trinity. That being said - the upgrades they have done to the building, and the increased attention to marketing and events really have made the place a million times better. The food is infinitely better as well. I really should make it a point to get here more often!
Review Source:This was a pretty good joint. I went here with my girlfriend a week or two ago, and it was an experience. This is a pretty newly renovated place to eat, and the changes are VERY appearant. We went here for some appetizers before going down to TGI Fridays for our entres, but after being told we could seat ourselves and take a look at the before-happy-hour menus, we were pretty impressed.
She had ordered the fried calimari, and I snagged the chicken finger appetizers (two things that we didn't even expect on a list), both combined for under 15$. That's even before we were told that before 4 all appetizers were half priced. Score.
The food came out very quick, and I have to say, it was very, very good. She had said that the calimari was surprisingly good, being out of season and so far from the coast, and my chicken fingers were breaded in a different fashion.
All in all, I would love to come back here for a bite to eat, and with each of the events that are going on here, I would love to return for a pint or two.
CONCLUSION: Food was surprising, price was amazing! If I didn't have any kind of coupons to a local eatery, and we were there, I'd try it again.
Poor Norton...there is very little to do, and even fewer places to grab a good bite. Â Trinity has had a lot of remodeling done recently, and the place looks nice, but the food is nothing to write home about. Â I think the prices should be a little lower, or they should pump up portions and flavor. Â
The staff for the most part are friendly, and the floor manager really wants to make sure that customers are having a nice time.
Many birthday parties or sports teams get together here, and the have a lot of events and live music...
but for food - ive had better.
I definitely don't care for this place as far as food and the wait staff. The couple times I've been, the food is meh and the service is definitely below par. However, their beers are pretty cheap and they have good bands every now and then. I wouldn't go back for their food but I do go every now and then for the bands and to grab a few beers.
My husbands friends went there awhile ago, they ordered drinks and got them without a problem. Then they ordered an appetizer, and they got that just fine and so they ordered their meals. They wanted a couple more beers and the waitress never came back. I mean never. They went up to the bar and got 2 more beers, sat back down, and she still never came back, they had waited about 40 minutes after they finished their app, so they went back up to the bar and asked for the manager. The manager said that they'd send the waitress over. The waitress went back over and said she "totally forgot" and they'd put a rush on the food. They had had it by then, and they said they just wanted to leave. The manager took care of their bill and told them that she'd take care of their meals too, but they didn't want to wait any longer, so they just decided to leave.
Not too impressed!!
I was just reading some of the reviews, Â I noticed Michele B, fIrst states she arrived at Trinity resteraunt before a party of eight and yet the party of 8 got seated first. She then goes on to say that same party of eight who was seated well after them got their drinks first . If you are gonna write a review get your facts straight. Â Sounds like her bad night had nothing to do with the resteraunt. I have been there several times, the food is great, Â very clean , great atmosphere, the staff is attentive and the apps are reasonably priced and very good!
Review Source:While visiting friends on the south shore, we decided to hit up this new Irish American restaurant and pub in town. Â I indulged in a delicious cup of corn chowder and treated myself to a portobello burger (which I had lots of yummy toppings to choose from) and side of sweet potato fries (my favorite!). Â By the time I was done, I was full to the brim and disappointed I couldn't fit some of the very tempting desserts (homemade apple crisp and brandied banana bread pudding). Â Our friends had recommended the Bass Ale Fish & Chips, so my husband chose that and he loved it. Â Overall, I was glad to see some good vegetarian options on the menu, a good selection of beer and great atmosphere and live music. Â Recommended if you're looking to try something new. Â I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again.
Review Source:Me and my boyfriend got there at 7pm on a sunday. We waited at hostess stand for a while while a server flew by us saying she would seat us soon. Â A party of eight walked in after and, when she returned, began seating them even though we were there first. Â I didn't like the atmosphere, too open and no privacy. Â We sat there looking a the samll menu, kinda not impressed with selection. Â Heck, the appetizers cost more than most entrees. Â We sat with menus down for over 15 minutes with out anyone getting us at least drinks. Â I was observing other tables with empty drinks as well. Â The real kicker was when the party of eight, who were seated well after us, got their drinks and given attention by bot the server and manager. Â We got fed up and just walked out.
Review Source:My bride and I accompanied another couple to this restaurant on Saturday evening. (12-12-09) It was busy and but we were greeted and seated in a timely fashion. Our waitress was ok, she was quick to throw the wine menu at you when you inquired about their offerings, and point to the bar when asking what they had on draft. She offered no specials ( though after we ordered we overheard other servers mentioning the specials.) We started with an app of mussells which was good, but heavy on the garlic. Then our entrees included, lobster ravioli - very good, Vermont bacon and cheddar burger - fair, roast beef wrap - ok, and a steak tips, very good. Overall a decent evening, but the waitress really needs training.
Review Source:This restaurant opened in late October, 2009 in the former Harry O's location. It is not an Irish pub. There are no Irish decorations of any kind. They do serve Irish beers such as Guiness.
The food is standard pub food, nothing really fancy. The food is good, atmosphere is OK. Nothing special here and no reason to return.
