Like others, I was on my way to Chipotle. The line is always too long, so I decided to head to this place. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the link, which came with fries. I also got a can of Coke. Probably should have gotten the fountain drink. It was an option.
Anyway, I found the food hot and delicious. It really hit the spot. The place was clean. Everything looked new. Service was decent. I was a little clueless as to what to order, but they can do some serious food with turkey!
The link didn't have the same consistency as one you might get from Kenny's, but the flavor was spicy and good.
In truth, I really have no reason to take away a single star. For what it is, it's quite good (after a single meal for one), but it's not Michelin rated... if it's as good next time, I'll add another star.
We were initiallly going to Chipotile but line was too long so we went to Turkey Time next door instead. The place looked new and we decided to give it a try. We were skimmimg the menu trying to decide what we want to eat. Finaly we decided, we actually orderred three meals for price of one meal at the next door. We had Turkey burger, BBQ tips special and Jerk wrap something new. Cashier explained to us how they make everything in the house from the scratch and that they do not use any kind of processed meat or deli cuts and that meat is wery high on protein and low on sodium which is very good for your heart. We waited for about 10-15 min for food to come out and the first thing we noticed was a big brown bag. When we picked it up it was quite heavy, they really give you soo much it`s amazing, food portions are huge. I even asked for a sample and the cook came out and let me try fresh cut that just came out from the open flame pit, the best meat I ever tried in my life. For a change, finaly something healty and good that opened on the South side. Â It is not owned by a big corporation either, simply owned by Chicago guys. We went back there four times since and the food is simply delicious, best turkey burgers and tips.
We also had a Turkey Gyro ( with Collard greens) and it was the best white turkey meat I have ever tried.This place is ahead of time, healty eating, Turkey Time here I come...
The smoke aroma is also a big plus.Next thing to try is Turkey Lasagna
First impressions ...
The dining room is clean enough ..but oddly set up. The video menus are cycling too fast through the different options, so they are useless. The two paper menus are inconsistent, and the wall menu is incomplete ...luckily, i checked yelp before walking in. I skipped over the 34 different turkey options and ordered the jerk turkey wrap.
The girl behind the counter could easily be characterized as unhelpful and unfriendly .
Smoke aroma ...bonus!
Odd ..a for "here" order ..is packaged to go. Took longer to get than expected, i would hope the girl behind the counter would let you know this after ordering, but that goes to the whole unfriendly unhelpful thing ...
Turkey time literally! Â South side ..they better have some good Q up in this bitch. Smoke still quofting through my nostrils...I open my wrap, which actually was a burrito... anywho ... The star? Turkey! Probably the best white meat I have ever had, and the wrap was stuffed with it. Smoky, juicy and tender. The jerk was a little soft, as i was hoping for more spicy kick. The scant amount of lettuce and tomato were a perfect accent.
A+ Turkey master ...
It was clean. that's all I can say that was nice and good about this place. I ordered  The mushroom & Swiss hamburger that  looked and tasted like something my 5 year old would have made for me. My boyfriend got the Turkey tip & link combo. We had to wait at least 20 minutes. So he had to ask what was going on with our order since people who came in after us were getting their food  before us So she was polite until .she rolled her eyes when she thought she had turned all the way around. Needless to say I will not be ever going back there ever again.  Worst food ever
