First off, let me say I've eaten at many places both in America and Europe - so I'm not a neopyte who doesn't know what good food is.  Secondly, we found this restaurant while straying from our hotel one night and decided to give it a try.  We weren't sure but took the chance.  We were promptly seated on a Thursday evening and there were other tables seated around us.  This place is pretty large.  There are white tablecloths and napkins which add a nice touch.  We ordered an appetizer and our dinners.  The service was excellent.  The food was very good and we enjoyed it immensely.  The price wasn't bad either.  I'm not sure what the other reviewers got but our food was definitely authentic and very well prepared but it's hard to screw up pasta.  We shared a dessert and it was delicious.  This is a place I'd go to again.

Came here for lunch and was glad to see other tables occupied on a Mon. Very nice personable server who made us feel welcome. The escarole and beans was the best!
The place could use a little more ambience to warm up the room a little. Maybe they're still working on it. The server brought us a complimentary tiramisu to welcome us to come back. It worked for me, I'll go back when I'm in the neighborhood.

I find it odd to see that this place has such poor reviews. The service deserves the low stars, but the food is definitely worthy of more stars. I've had the cavatelli with vodka sauce and the pasta with seafood. My husband enjoys their veal marsala. We've had almost all the appetizers on their menu, all of which were rather good.

We've only gone on Fridays which happens to be when they have live entertainment. That definitely makes it even more fun. The last time we went they had a DJ that was playing all Mexican music which really made no sense since it's an Italian restaurant and typically they have dance music. No one was dancing that night, so I think that the point was made.

    We will definitely be back!

It was my husband and mine first time to try this place. We always drive by and the place is always packed. We got carry out. I ordered the chicken vesuvio with a side of mash potatoes. The chicken was great and the mashed potatoes were very flavorful. My Husband ordered the chicken Velasco, which had the right kind of spice to it. The Bread was hot and toasty. We got the bake clams which were amazing!!  We also ordered the grilled calamari, which was okay but we had better. All in all our experience with the food was great!!! Will order again!!!

Went there to celebrate my sisters 40th birthday party. It didn't last past 10 as we asked to leave for not drinking when we had drinks at our table. Service was so bad that we were getting our drinks from bar and not the wait staff. Nobody came to our table as live entertainment was going on. My sister called to reserve a table weeks in advance and talked tk one of owners and advised them our plan was to watch live entertainment and not eat there. Reviews on food have been terrible. Needless to say they asked us to leave for not ordering the 2 drink minimum. They told us policy is online. I still have yet to locate it. If anyone sees this policy please let me know but the way pur table had non water glasses lined up I doubt that waa an issue the minimum drink. Don't go here at all. Reviews on food is bad and how they treat customers celebrating a special event is even worse. If I could put negative stars I would.

Lasagna was good. Rib eye steak, thin and overcooked, but good. Ambiance was okay, service could have been friendlier. There was no one at the front to greet or seat you when we arrived or left. Would I go back...maybe?

I went on a week night later in the evening and had no problems getting a table and ordering.  The owner, Sam, is a born Italian who's made his home in Chicago.  We had a nice conversation about his place and his customers.  The dish I had was pretty good (ordered off-menu) and the service was friendly.  I would return if I'm in the area again.

I made a 7:30 reservation for my 30th birthday We were seated at 8pm. We get our water at 8:20 and our order was taken at 8:30. They forgot some of our drink orders and soups/salads. We complained repeatedly to the waitress and manager and were told that they were packed. There was a line of 5 people wanting to speak to the manager and 4 people literally walked out. At 10:10pm we were told our dinner would be out in 10 more minutes!!! These people completely ruined my birthday as I was in the worst mood the rest of the night. I ended up leaving and going to McDonalds.

I working the convention this week and didn't want to send a lot on food. so I tried tuscano's. I can in thinking this was going to be a mediocre dinner because the restaurant itself looked mediocre. But dont let that fool you.

This is by far the best Italian food I have had in a long time. The service was great and the food was amazing. It's a mom and pop type restaurant the manager is nice and checked up on us.  They also called a cab for us.

The only thing I advise is if your in a rush you might want to stay away because we were there for a couple hours because we ordered so much food.  Which brings me to the portions. They were huge and each entre get a soup or salad and pasta along with your main dish.

Best bang for your buck if you want to get away from all the over priced restaurant near the convention center. Will defiantly come back next year for the convention.

My wife and I were searching for light dinner prior to an evening event in Rosemont and happened across Tuscano's. The lot was nearly full and the place looked pretty hopping so why not? We skipped the unnecessary valet parking (this is a strip mall after all) and still parked just 20-30 steps from the door. We found the large and airy bar area and decided to saddle up there instead of in the dining room. After all, this was a quick stop and there always seems to be better people-watching at the bar anyway. And boy did we get an eyeful. My wife instantly nicknamed this place "Real Housewives of the Northwest Side". Lots of middle-aged GNO participants cackling away over their red wine. Couples whose eyes darted about the room in a way that convinced us that they were doing something unseemly. Cheating, perhaps? Many who looked like extras from The Sopranos with their impressively coiffed hairstyles and effortless Chicago Italian-American swagger. So the scene was set.

The bar service was prompt and friendly and we were quickly enjoying cocktails over fresh bread while perusing the menu. Lots of Italian standards, but we were here little more than a snack so we tried the calamari appetizer, a large caesar salad and their filet mignon sliders. We were asked if we'd like to receive these all at once or in any particular order, which was a nice touch especially for a small order at the bar. We chose to taste everything together and everything arrived promptly and well-presented. The calamari was properly prepared and was very tasty and not too 'bready'. The salad had fresh greens and the dressing was nice and garlicky as expected in any good Italian place. The filet mignon sliders were to be the centerpiece of the meal, but didn't really impress. The meat was cooked properly and the buns were toasted, but the sandwiches still needed a little salt or cracked pepper since they lacked any sign of aging. Satisfying nonetheless, just not any more impressive than a standard burger.

All in all a nice and entertaining visit. We'll have to return when we're in the mood for a heartier meal to try some of the Italian specialties. The bar area seemed a little more inviting than the dining rooms (banquet-ready), so we'll stick with what's already worked out well for us.

I had the pork chop and it was ok.  The ambiance was weird, with a computer-clad i-tunes-ish DJ in the back playing "YMCA" by the Village People as I drank red wine and ate Italian food.  The dessert was bread pudding and it sucked.

Very good food at moderate price.  Clean and pleasant atmosphere. Great service. A Tuscano invention, Caprese version of pasta, is a must.

I've been anxious to try this place out as I've heard good things and when driving by, there have often been a lot of cars in the lot. So I stopped in for lunch on a Thursday around 12:30PM.

When I walked in, I saw an empty host station and not much of a sign that it was in use. A few people ahead of me headed down a medium sized hallway, so I followed the herd. in to a room with a rather large bar in front of me, with a substantially sized restaurant to my left. I sat at the bar; no bartenders were present however a few people were seated there and had been served.

After about five minutes, I was approached and I ordered a Pieroni and asked for a menu. After that point service was good, though the soup and entree came a little too close together.

The soup itself, a chicken barley, was OK - seemed like a minestrone with some barley added. For lunch, I ordered Rigatoni Arrabiata - that dish was done quite nicely. Pasta was al dente, sauce somewhat spicy and Italian sausage present throughout as noted on the menu. Good job on this dish.

Manager and staff did not appear to be paisans - not critical as you don't have to be Italian to cook or serve Italian food. I'll probably go back - though the food up the road at Carlucci's is better if you don't mind paying a few dollars more.

My family and I are huge fans of Tuscano's. We come here at least twice a month. This place has the best Italian food around. The chef is excellent, I have never had a bad meal here. My favorites are the pasta with clams and mussels and the filet. I also LOVE the baked clams. The entertainment is a big plus too! Love the bar area and of coarse the dancing!! We found our new favorite italian restaurant finally!!!

I first have to say that my husband and I were huge fans of the food at the old Giannotti's, so when we heard that Javiel was here we had to come out to try it. We were very pleased we did!

The service was great! Our waiter, Joe, was on top of his game. Great service, funny, witty, and everything came out perfect.

The recipes were just as we remembered. Fantastic! The garlic dressing on the salad was excellent and will keep away the worst of your vampires. The minestrone was home-made and very good. We had the eight finger cavatelli with special marinara and the veal parmesan. The were just like they used to be and we loved both. Finally we had a dessert sampler with the bread pudding, cannoli, and the tiramasu. The desserts were home-made and so gooooood! Tiramasu was light and delicious-I wish we would have gotten a second one to take home!

We did not stay for the evening entertainment, but I think the next time we head back we will have to make a point of it.

Tuscano's goes on my short list of favorite Italian cuisine!

I can't believe the good reviews this place gets.

For foodies, to cut to the chase:  It's like you're at someone's wedding at some generic ballroom and they took package "c."

The shrimp cocktail still had the shrimp's WASTE on it!  Talk about a total gross out.  Plus it was MEALY -- the tell tale "unrefresh" sign.

Curiously, the service was very good -- the staff is very professional and friendly -- but it's way overpriced and the food is bland to mediocre at best and sort of shitty, literally.

    Two thumbs down.

St Paddy's Day, at an Italian Restaurant. It was warm St Patrick's Night with a slight breeze and the Moon was almost full. We  pulled into the lot at Tuscanos Restaurant and parked.  As we entered the restaurant Pete, an owner greeted us and lead us into the lounge. Pete knows I prefer to sit by the entertainment. A great entertainment duel was playing that night , Geno & Gene, Sounds of Time, were performing. Daniela the bartender took our drink and appetitizer orders. My friend had a glass of Riesling. I had a glass of house Merlot. For appetizers we ordered a cup of minestrone soup and the baked stuffed eggplant. With our order we were served fresh Italian bread, with virgin olive oil and parmesan cheese. The stuffed eggplant was the best we have ever had. The homemade style minestrone was also very good. The wine was excellent. Javier, the Chef came out and talked to us. Javier, is an experienced great Chef who worked at the original Gianottis Restaurant in the past. Pete, the owner kindly served us two drinks on the house. There were some very attractive ladies, dressed up very nicely sitting in the lounge. Some of the crowd got up and danced to the music. On Friday, March 25, 2011, Tuscano's will be hosting Motown and Disco night. Another great up coming event. I rated St. Paddies Day at Tuscano's five stars. My compliments go out to Javier, Pete and Daniela. For a fun time and great Italian food, this is the place. Bon Appetite'

This place blew me away!!  We went on a Saturday night and the entertainment was great.  Two guys singing the oldies of Bennet, Sinatra and Dino.  The appetizers we had were A+.  The baked and raw clams were fresh, the salads were great and our entrees of Veal and Chicken parm were the best this side of Taylor street.  If you enjoy great food with great entertainment go on a Saturday night.  You wont be let down! And the drinks are stiff as hell!

Came here for M's birthday to see the DUELING PIANOS show and it was a blast!

Walking in, J, D and I were greeted by the hostess who was very nice. She directed us to the bar and let us know where we could find our reserved tables for the party and recommended we get the Fuzzy Navel since they are the most raved about.

The bar when you walk into the entertainment area, is spacious and with the lights dimmed low,  it gave off a posh feel.

After a few minutes of the usual meet and greet and "hellos" to the familiar faces, the girls and I decided it was time for a quick lip-gloss touch up and powder touch up. The bathrooms are so nice! They are individual rest-rooms that are completely spotless!

Fuzzy Naves in hand and lip-gloss fresh, we all made our way back to the bar and got a run down on how the Dueling Pianos show worked. And for those of you who've never seen a Dueling Pianos show, do yourself a favor and PLEASE go to one!

After the guys started their "dueling" with songs that everyone knew, drinks coming and going and plenty of laughter, the night got better and better!

The staff was fantastic btw! All the waitresses and waiters kept coming to the tables and making sure our drinks were filled and when we ordered appetizers, they came out quickly and on a cute little table-cart! The bruschetta was fresh and the crab cakes were REALLY good! (I wish I had been hungrier to try a dinner plate.)

With people on the dance floor, the piano men playing outstandingly, wait staff attentive, great stiff drinks and GOOD tasting appetizers, I can't wait to go back!
