Tuscany Steak and Pasta House

Tuscany's indeed went south.  The Tribune Star reported in its July 20, 2011, edition that Tuscany's has closed its doors.

Is there anything more deadly than an Italian buffet on a Sunday afternoon?  Nothing kills productivity faster around our house.

Anyway, enjoyed a pleasant lunch with the entire family here on Sunday afternoon.  Nice atmosphere.  They are working on the interior and it is starting to feel dressy, without being stuffy.  While they are having to work with the old building, it is obvious that some effort is going into decor.  I would call it "nice family dinner" atmosphere".  The bathrooms look a tad rough, but I expect that they will be addressed as the rest of the building has been remodeled already.

The staff was attentive and very friendly.

I can only speak for the buffet at this location, but these are the same folks who own the Tuscany in Paris, IL, and the food there is excellent.  I would expect no less from this menu.

The salad was obviously fresh and very crisp.  My soup was creamy and hot. I managed to try three of six entrees, all were great and filling.   The dessert table featured four cream cakes.  I manged to get down a piece of chocolate and lemon, but had to surrender before I made it to the coconut.

Overall, we had a great experience and our bill was a very pleasant surprise.  I would strongly recommend this for a group, as there was plenty of seating and lots of area to move around.
