Two Meatballs in the Kitchen is one of those reliable modernly-decorated restaurants that everyone can agree on. Â By that, I mean if you brought it up as a suggestion for dinner, everyone would be like "Yeah, that sounds good."
That's because it doesn't disappoint. Â Our dishes were large and tasty. Â The service was good. Â If I had to relate this place to something tourists would understand, the food is comparable to what you would get at Old Chicago.
Just beware that you don't want to get here later than 5:30 on a Friday or Saturday night, lest you wish to have a long wait for a table. Â
So, Two Meatballs......is a reliable choice.
We were visiting from Michigan and wanted to give this place a try. Now, I will tell you this; you cannot see it from the road at all because it's on the back side of a building. The only reason we knew where it was because our GPS told us so and from reading the reviews. Perhaps sometime in the future they can get a sign from the road to point people to where it is.
Anyway, we went on a Monday night. We were seated immediately but wow, so busy and extremely noisy. Our waitress took our drink orders and came back pretty quickly but forgot about us for a good 20 minutes. I understand it's busy but really? We place our orders and again takes quite a long time for our food to show up, even the bread. The reason I give this place 3 stars instead of 2 is because the food was pretty good. In all honesty, I wouldn't come back because of how busy it was, how noisy it was, and how long everything took to come out.
I just called to book a holiday party for a group of 10 people and was sincerely disappointed in the customer service. I called at 2:30 in the afternoon, a typically slow time for restaurants, and was immediately put on hold for nearly 4 minutes. Then, when I asked if they had a semi private or private room I was told there was a half wall by the bar and that area could hold 10 people.
However, when I asked for a photo (since there wasn't anything on their website), I was told no and that I'd have to go to the restaurant to see for myself. After explaining that I wouldn't be interested or able in doing so because I don't live nearby, I was put on hold for another 2 minutes and then told that was the only option. Come in or send someone else.
In the current slow economy I find this incredibly hard to believe. I was going to bring 10 people in to eat and have cocktails, but they couldn't take a picture and send it to me. I WILL NOT be frequenting this establishment and wonder how they can stay in business with such poor customer service.
