I love their beer selection, as I have on every visit. Â Last time, I also got to try the food and was quite pleased with how yummy it was.
The best thing ob Ulrich's really is the atmosphere. Â (Sure, sometimes it's filled with douchebags. Â Where in Peoria isn't?) Â Some nights, there's a random band with bagpipes. Â Bagpipes... really? Â Other nights, it's crowded but quieter with people keeping themselves entertained with darts or conversation. Â It's just a really good vibe all around.
First timer at this place. Wasn't there for the bar scene, just out to eat some dinner. Great atmosphere and friendly server. We both got the horseshoe burger and it was fantastic. If you're looking for some cheesey goodness I recommend the horseshoe burger. Will definitely come back.
Review Source:Great food and lovely selection of beer, some of the crunchiest and meatiest wings I have ever had, and very friendly service.
There was an initial misunderstanding with the gift certificate I brought in, but the person who served our group--I believe it was the owner's brother--was so diplomatic about it that not only were we put at ease, but we went whole hog on drinks and the meal and STILL came out to an impressively economic bill. This place is truly a gem, and will be my stop next time I'm up in Peoria.
Great times at Ulrich's on a recent visit to Peoria. Staff was very friendly and all of our food was far and away above most pub fare. Â We made it on .50 wings and $3 Guinness night. Fantastic. Plenty of bottled micro-brew if you're not feeling drafts, and a hefty menu to boot. A friend grabbed a burger, said it was excellent and pretty big. They grill everything at the bar right in front of you. Sweet internet jukebox in the back, and a few dart boards to keep you entertained. Future visits will definitely have Ulrich's on the itinerary.
Review Source:Great burgers, wide choice of beers & fantastic atmosphere! Â I took my family here after seeing the Festival of Lights and it didn't disappoint. Â We had a gift certificate from http://restaurants.com burning a hole in our pocket, so we decided to give Ulrich's a try.
My son (4) was right at home. Â Tons of Christmas decorations to see which kept him entertained. Â There's also a dart board & a few TV's. Â Beautiful old wooden pews & tables. Â The place felt VERY clean too, which is a nice change of pace for a bar. Â It was Monday night ($3 burgers!), but by 7 the place was packed! Â Yet amazingly, it didn't get too loud.
I ordered an IPA from the menu, but they were out. Â :( Â So, I went with the Newcastle on tap (x2). Â My wife got a bloody mary (x2 actually) and said it was very good & spicy. Â My son got a lemonade which tasted like a margarita mix. Â Bleh.
We ordered a large plate of cheese fries, I got the Ultimate Hickory Burger (delicious!), my wife got the Cajun Ahi Tuna (looked very good) & son got a grilled cheese. Â Between us we racked up a $41 bill. After my $25 gift card, it was next to nothing.
I really liked this place and will definitely keep it on my list. Hard to spot at first, but once you find it, it's worth a visit. If you want to see more about this place, or preview the menu, look no further: http://peoriairishpub.co…
What a great place to eat and have a beer!! Â The staff was friendly along with the owner. Â He personally made us burgers and fries which were out of this world. The fries are fresh cut and are made right in front of you. The beer selection is really diverse and they have a lot of out-of-the ordinary beers on tap. Â Great music and a dart board too! Â We will definitely visit next time we're in Peoria!
Review Source:I was in Peoria on business and was a little skeptical of going to dinner at a bar. but wow! I ordered the blackened tuna and onion rings and they were amazing! tuna was ordered medium and came perfectly medium, and the beer battered onion rings were flavorful without feeling too heavy. If I'm in Peoria again, I'll be going back to Ulrich's
Review Source:Sorry, Ulrich's Rebellion Room... I knocked you down a star!
You get oh so busy at times and you usually only have 2 people behind the bar, with one of them being the cook too! Â So, I was kinda bummed I had to wait a while for a brewski.
But you never disappoint me when it comes to the lively, down-to-earth crowd you bring in. Â Funny, there was actually a bachelorette party going on last time I went. Didn't think that would happen in a pub! How bout that?
Anyway, I really thought you'd earn my 5th star, but alas, you were just A-OK.
A true Irish Pub and as an added bonus really good food. I was there on St Pat's Day and It was a blast w/great Reubens's and a true corn beef dinner with Irish Soda Bread. Friendly and a great selection of beer..
If you are looking for a good time and seeking the Blarney Stone look no further
This place is great, all of the staff are nice.
The atmosphere is great, it can get pretty crazy late on weekends.
The food is always good, if not a bit greasy, but what do you expect you're eating at bar, and you're most likely eating something fried.
Friday Happy Hour Buffet is amazing and crazy that they can offer a free buffet to their patrons.
Good Beer, stiff drinks, great staff, and friendly atmosphere that turns into a really fun place late at nice. Have to love it!
This place has had a bunch of name changes and owners but still always has the same feel to it which is a good thing. It's a good bar to finish the night off at and grab a drink... If you can make it before they stop serving food which I think it's at 3am then the food is great too price wise and quality for the late night crowd
Review Source:The menu is small compared to most places, but there was still plenty to pick from. Â Appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, wings, etc. Â
The beer list was impressive...more beer options than food items! Â I'm not a beer drinker, but looking through the list was pretty cool.
We went because we got a $25 gift certificate off of http://Restaurant.com for $2. Â You have to spend a minimum of $35 to use that particular gift certificate, so in all we spent $12 for our meal. Â
My husband ordered a Bud Light bottle -- slightly disappointed it wasn't a selection on tap. Â I had a Captain and diet. Â Probably not the best place to go for mixed drinks -- it was $5!!! Â
After looking over the menu, my husband ordered the Ribeye Steak Sandwich, Cheese Fries, and Mozzarella Sticks for an appetizer. Â I ordered the Texas BLT. Â (A BLT on Texas Toast!)
His sandwich was TO-DIE-FOR. Â I had a small bite -- I'm not a steak fan -- and I would definitely order it next time for my own meal. Â It was MELT IN YOUR MOUTH perfection...perfectly seasoned...YUM. Â The Cheese Fries weren't anything special, and they put the cheese sauce on the side. Â (In my opinion this is good...since I don't like cheese) Â My husband didn't care for the fact that the cheese was served COLD. Â The mozzarella sticks were good....they were served with a side of ranch. Â They were reasonably priced and very thick. Â
My BLT was good. Â The bacon - terrific. Â It was just a LOT of bread...I was full FAST. Â
Our server was wonderful. Â He was also the bartender AND running the grill. Â For a weeknight, this place was pretty busy. Â He did a great job, however, making sure EVERYONE was taken care of.
A great place for dinner...a fun place to have a couple drinks...will definitely be returning.

This used to be Sullivan's place, but Sully sold it and opened a place in the heights. Â Sully of course did it up right, awesome food, great happy hour, etc. The place is somehow not the same. Â We went in last night after a movie, the new owners have done a good job of maintaining the 'look'- but you could tell it was not a Sully place anymore. Â But that's OK- It says "Ulrich's" on the sign, not Sullivan.
The beer selection was pretty darn good, with a heavy lean toward microbrews in the bottle section. Â They no longer carry quality wines, but lean toward house brands. Â
We can't speak for the food, we didn't eat- but the flame grill they have is the same one they had hen it was Sullivan's- so I think it should be tasty! Â
Adults -maybe
College kids- yes
Children- No
I was visiting Peoria for a college basketball game one weekend recently and decided to give Ulrich's a shot since it was close to the arena and seemed to be known for having good beer.
All I can say is this: It's a good thing I live over 150 miles away. Good lord, this place is fantastic.
The place has a pretty standard look and feel of an old Irish pub, but with some local flair (Bradley paraphernalia) sprinkled here and there.
The beer is definitely above adequate, as they have some microbrews from Illinois and Missouri on draught and bottle along with the staple beers (Guinness, Smithwick's, Harp's, etc.) one might find in the Irish bars in the U.S.
Their burger was what swept me off my feet, though. It was big, flavorful, a little greasy, but amazing. I've eaten at all of the award-winning burger places in my hometown of St. Louis, and I can honestly say the burger at Ulrich's has them beat.
Finally, the service was also pretty good. Our server -- who doubled as the bartender -- wasn't too overwhelming, was helpful, and was very friendly. He even stopped at our table for a bit when we were finished eating and talked a little college basketball with us.
If I'm ever in Peoria again, I'll definitely go out of my way to hit Ulrich's.
This is a very cool bar if you're looking for something a bit calmer and more relaxed than other bars in the area. Â They have tons of beer options and lots of delicious mixed drinks. Â I had the fries once too, and they were a great bar food choice. Â The servers and bartenders are really down to earth and friendly and the people that come to this bar are generally laid back as well. Â Its a smaller space so don't expect to be dancing all over the place.
Review Source:Walked into this place around 8pm on a Saturday night.
It's deserted.
We sit at a booth.
We twiddle our thumbs for a few minutes and give each other confused looks.
Finally, a guy comes out, hands us menus.
We look at them. Â There is not much on the menu.
We consider leaving.
"But what else is around here? Â And would it be any better?"
So, we stay.
Guy comes back. Â Takes our orders. Â Chats for a while. Â He's very nice.
Our burgers come out. Â They are heavenly. Â They have bacon that's baked in-house with a wonderful coating of brown sugar. Â It's so good we can barely talk.
The place is filling up, and the energy is buzzing.
We notice they're playing 90s rock/alt, the popular music of our college years.
We decide we love Mushrush's.
Ah, the former Sullivan's Irish Pub. Â Sully started a great tradition with an Irish pub feel, great food and late hours. Â When he left downtown for a Peoria Heights location, a huge void needed to be filled.
Enter Jim Mushrush. Â After a brief stint as "The Main Office", Jim renamed Sullivan's to "Mushrush's" and kept a lot of the same great food and atmosphere. Â What kind of food, you might ask? Â Some of the best burgers in town, fresh-cut fries to order, and a cheese sauce that is quite possibly laced with crack. Â Better than many places I've had.
They have a large selection of beers on draft and bottles, and they've created their own "Beer Tour." Â Finishers get a personalized mug that they keep in house and are entitled to discounts in their mugs. Â Repeat finishers get a personalized stein mug! Â Happy hour buffet on Fridays! Â it doesn't get much awesomer than this.
