When visiting St. Charles I make it a habit to visit a new restaurant on Main Street each time. I can't remember when this check-in was, but I do know that I watched a Cards vs. Brewers game so it wasn't too long ago.
For a shotgun restaurant/bar it was alright. I was a little turned off because they still allow smoking in there? Not a fan of smoking and eating. I don't think there were any specials the night I went. I was in the mood for some wings and I saw that Uncle Joe had cashew teryaki wings on the menu...yes, cashew and teryaki for wings! Sold. I had to try them and I am so glad I did. They were like nothing I have ever had before. Hot, juicy, and delicious! Great concept Joe! I'll be back for more.
We also ordered the pretzels with cheese dip...also very good. Surprisingly good.
I know we sat inside that night, but I heard others were sitting outside on the patio...it was too cold for me that night!
On our way out the door after the game the waitress offered us some "cake balls" that she had made. How sweet! Great way to end the visit. I will make it back again, just not sure when.
I'm glad I went and I'm glad I tried something new. Nothing negative to report...
Friendly shotgun bar & nice 2 level deck was the setting. Lindenwood University kids (over 21, but still young) on up to the white hair guy that gives ghost tours in St Chuck http://www.stcharlesghos… being the energetic Wednesday karaoke crowd. While this place seems to be more filled with WASP college crowd, I was still comfortable and had fun. The $4 domestic pitchers (Bud Select) and no cover helped.
Weird thing... Men's room is downstairs.
Only 1 big guy in a security shirt was present, but when an argument started to happen 3 more guys stepped up and backed him with the problem (kicked both parties out). Â These other guys were in plain clothes, but all 4 worked as a team and seemed to know each other well (my guess- they worked there on the more crowded weekends).
