Cobblestones

I have to say - this place is pretty cool, and the food is tasty. I haven't tried everything on their menu, but I have tried the burger (very good), the wings (very meaty, and some of the best in St. Louis), the fried cod sandwich (which is huge, crisp on the outside, and flaky and white on the inside), and the "Chocolate Dreamtini". In a word, it's divine, and I do mean, divine! It might just be my favorite thing on the Cobblestone's menu. In it, Godiva chocolate meets chocolate-flavored vodka in a dreamy concoction of heavenly goodness. Yummm! They go down so smooth, but be warned, just a couple and you might have trouble walking to your car on the cobblestone, uneven stone walkways lining the St. Charles Riverfront. After just two, I had a bit of a stumble and twisted my knee. So, if you indulge, don't say I didn't warn you about this drink's lethalness.

On the weekends, in the evening, Cobblestones offers live entertainment on the patio in the rear of the restaurant. Things can get pretty crowded at that time, which is noticeable, considering the place is pretty small. During the day, things are steady, but considerably less crowded, so if you want to visit at a less crowded time, the daytime hours would be it.

Another tip for visiting Cobblestones - be sure to sit outside if the weather is nice. The patio offers a great river view, and is filled with umbrella-shaded tables. It's a very relaxing spot to enjoy a burger, an adult beverage, and spend an hour or two on any given day.
