This place is cheeeeap cheap cheap. Wow these prices are good.
I was home for Thanksgiving so we took a family stroll around old town St. Charles and ended up at Lloyd and Harry's. It's right on the main street but a little away from the action. Perfect spot for a quick meal (or I'm guessing late night drinks).
The prices are insane, and due to that we way over ordered. 99 cent burger? Sure, how about two? Turns out these are legitimate full-size burgers, but make sure to note they charge extra per topping! What's that you say, a 99 cent burger isn't a good enough deal for you? How about $2 for a cup of chili, white chicken nachos for $3 or a buffalo chicken finger special WITH fries for $5? Unbelievable. You could eat huge here for $10.
We came in with the lunch rush, but our server greeted us pretty much immediately and was super attentive. Our drinks stayed refilled, and whenever a table opened up the bartender jumped out and cleared it. They weren't striking up a conversation, but they were quick and efficient.
Notes: Smoking is allowed inside (minus one star for this). This is a paper plate type place and you'll have to ask for utensils. The food seems to come out as it's ready so be ready if some entrees come out before others.
I love going to Old Town St.Charles and walking about. There is always fun to be found there. Whether your shopping, going to clubs, or just want to get a bite to eat.
That's when I stopped by Lloyd & Harry's. It isn't much to look at but it is a nice enough dive bar. People love to come in, probably due to their low price food items. They keep it simple here folks, so if you are looking for something a little more uplevel then I would suggest going elsewhere. Finger food items galore is what the specialize in really.
We usually order a variety of items to it tends to be a free for all. Our table is usually filled with something that you would eat and eat we did. Chicken chili nachos (Yum), hamburgers, buffalo chicken wings, toasted rav's, peal-n-eat shrimp, and steak kabobs. We ate well for sure and didn't get price gouged. Beers are $3 bucks so not to bad. We had 4 buckets but my group likes to indulge a bit.
Stop in there if you wish to get a cheap bite to eat. The waitress are always friendly.
