This place.. is seriously awesome. It's in an odd spot on Metro in some kind of monumental building, but inside it looks like a classy wine cellar in Italy.
This place is pretty expensive for Queens, but the food is aaaamazing. I love the Gnocchi appetizer, and the Rigatoni with Gorgonzola. Get either one, they are both heavenly although quite rich and decadent. The rigatoni here is one of my favorite pasta dishes EVER. It's in a creamy Gorgonzola sauce with chopped walnuts and thinly-sliced pear. It's good. But not for the dieters.
What a great place for fine Italian food right her in Middle Village. Great Wine list, excellent entrées, fabulous appetizers, and a wonderful building with old world charm. I would give five stars but the last 2 times I was at Uvarara my meal was interrupted by an intoxicated woman named Linda. She was unkept and quite disruptive. Not sure who she is, but hopefully she will not be there next time I visit.
