Valkryie Bar exceeds greatness in every aspect. When it comes to 'serious drinks' this is a prime spot nestled in Tulsa's booming Brady Arts District.
I myself have always been a craft beer girl. As it has been getting warmer outside I have thoroughly enjoyed their Good JuJu beer's crisp and light taste. However, my go-to is the Pilsner.
Never have I ever really gotten into cocktails... until now. Valkryie takes pride in the craft of building a pure and built to perfection cocktail. The staff, very unassuming and kind, will happily share with you how a drink is made and make sure you order exactly what you fancy. For example, I walked in last Saturday as the sun was beaming. I wanted to try a new cocktail, so I said I would like a strong drink, but not one that was too sweet that would weigh me down, and definitely not  one that would make me feel warmer. And, voila! A perfect daiquiri appeared before my eyes made with Rhum Barancourt that had been aged 8 years.
Whether it be a beer, cocktail, or wine -this place will tickle a whole party's tastebuds. The space is welcoming and sophisticated all at the same time with high quality  brown leather couches, high tables, and bar seating.
This place is one of my favorites in Tulsa and you can bet your bottom dollar that if you visit me we will hunker-down at this beautiful venue and sip on some 'serious drinks'.
Love love love this place. Â The drinks are thoughtfully crafted and well prepared. Â I've always been given something that is different and delicious. Â The ambiance is fun and urban. Â The music is great and not too loud so you can actually hear the people you're chatting with. Â Overall my favorite find in Tulsa so far!
Review Source:I cannot say enough great things about this place - it's my Cheers bar in Tulsa, Oklahoma with outstanding drinks. If you are a cocktail fan, you won't find better ones anywhere, of this I am sure (and I travel often). The menu changes often, but you can always special request your favorite cocktail even if it has cycled off the board. For beer and wine fans, the offering isn't huge, but you will find into be truly unique and fun if you enjoy trying new things.
Also, my husband and I love Reed, by far our favorite bartender in all of Tulsa. He remembered our names after our first visit and always takes great care of us from the time we walk in the door.
**Note: This bar does not serve food. If you are hungry, just hop across the street to Laffa and enjoy the walk-up falafel window before or after you drinks.
***Another Note: Fire Marshall capacity at this place is low at 80 people, which means they can easily hit capacity by 9:30pm on weekends. Get there before 9:00 on Friday/Saturday if you don't want to chance waiting at the door for a short period of time.
If you do decide to visit this little Tulsa gem, find Reed and have him make you a Buenos Aires Mule. I am pretty sure you won't be disappointed.
This place is fun to sit and watch mixologists work their magic. I tried an Old Fashioned and a Bloody Mary on different occasions, both were tasty. It was somewhat busy and people were ordering all kinds of frou frou mixed drinks that came out looking tasty. Â The bartenders (and I believe I met the owner) were all very friendly and knowledgeable. I would go back alone or take friends.
Review Source:It only took one visit to realize this would be my go-to bar if I lived in Tulsa.
With its neat industrial looks, dim lighting, chalk-scrawled menu and impressively-curated music playlist (yes, I grabbed my phone to Shazam that ish), Valkyrie is the kind of place that inspires a curious stranger to become a loyal regular.
The open layout makes what could be a gussied-up bar much more approachable - and with a beverage menu catering to craft beer lovers, cocktail connoisseurs and wine buffs, no adult is left behind.
Personally, I found most enjoyment in the craft beer selection. St. Bernardus Abt 12? I love to love ya, and you can bet that my posterior will be parked on a Valkyrie bar stool next time I'm in Tulsa. Enjoy this space, Tulsans - this bar is one hell of a sparkly gem and I have a feeling it's only going to get better.
I thought about taking the approach of a compliment sandwich for this review, but decided that's for passive-aggressive corporate performance reviews.
This place specializes in a constantly changing menu of craft cocktails, fancy beers and wines. Â No food, no real frills in decoration (outside the random posters of videogames, memes and harry potter). Â
Everything here is pricey, except for the $3 PBR, but some of that cost is allocated to the handmade ingredients and the "time" it takes for the bartender to mix your drink. Â The cocktails are all interesting, but the majority of them come off as just way too sour.
My one true complaint about this place and why I didn't rate higher is their stupid door policy. Â Above the door the fire marshall capacity clearly states 60 people. Â Nowhere during the night did this place even get close to capacity, but still they had the door man turning people away. Â The pretense for this is that they don't want the bar crowded and people rushing the bartenders, because it takes a significant amount of time for them to mix the drinks. Â
It makes sense in theory, they want to maintain a casual low key atmosphere. Â But hey! Â Its a bar. Â Let people in to drink. Â The bartenders are able to handle it and seemed to have no trouble making two drinks in under 3 mins.
Cool new bar in the suddenly burgeoning Brady Arts District.  Atmosphere evokes a bar of the sort found in Brooklyn or San Francisco -- sleek and stylish yet unique, hip, genuine, and not at all kitschy like some of the "upscale" bars and restaurants in Tulsa.  Very impressive.  The cocktails didn't disappoint either.  Although the price tag is steep, the drinks are a much better value proposition than you might at first fear for a couple of reasons.  First reason being that the cocktails are perfectly crafted from top-shelf liquors and fresh ingredients.  I had the red hook, which is their variation of a Manhattan.  I'm not sure what went in it (besides bourbon of course, for which they used Bulleit, a small-batch rye which lent it savory and slightly spicy notes) but the bartender spent several minutes preparing it - he pre-iced my glass and rubbed it with mint leaves and some other unidentified herb before crafting my manhattan.  The fastidiousness with which he (and the other bartenders) prepare the cocktails is astounding.  The results didn't disappoint.  By far the best Manhattan I've ever tasted.  The second reason why it was worth every penny of the $8 I paid: it packed a punch.  This place doesn't serve the high fructose corn syrup-laden cocktails you find most places.  These are real cocktails.  Mostly booze, with a few natural ingredients to tie everything together and bring out the flavors of the liquor itself.  One drink was enough to get me buzzed, and I'm no lightweight  (I like to tell myself I'm not anyway).  If I had to estimate, I'd say my Manhattan contained about three "normal" drinks worth of booze, so 3-4 shots.  My friend said the same about his.  Cocktails of this quality and strength could easily set you back  $15 in New York or Boston.  I must say, I'm usually weary of places that call their bartenders "mixologists," but this place manages to deliver Manhattan-quality Manhattans (and atmosphere) without the snobbery that seems to come requisite at places like this.  Almost makes me want to stay in Tulsa.  Almost.
Review Source:Stumbled in here on a Sunday night after a concert and was very impressed. Not only were the staff very knowledgeable about their craft, they were also a delight to be around. We planned to stop in for one drink and ended up staying till close discussing classic cocktails.
The prices are a bit high but I can understand why- these aren't your average McCormicks and soda kind of drinks... they're more like art. Almost too pretty to drink. So if you're wanting a cheap drink to get you drunk there's other bars, but if you're wanting a great experience and a tasty concoction then this is the place for you!
New bar opened up in Brady District here in Tulsa last week. Good selection of high quality beers, wine, and liquors. Â Prices are a bit above my price range, especially for the Tulsa area. Â It was extremely loud in there. You can't have a conversation with anyone even sitting across from you at a table. Also, the place was a bit small. It was more of a hipster bar, but service was prompt considering how crowded it was. Its a good place to start the night, then move on to other bigger bars.
