Vesuvio

This place needs an overhaul - STAT!  I'm not usually intimidated by decor but I found the atmosphere dark and dank.  My chair was one of those you find in a cafeteria or lunch room.  The carpet was dark, the door into the dining room was dark.  The lighting barely functioned for reading purposes.  I got the feeling of being in a cavern or someone's basement.  It's a restaurant screaming for a makeover.  

The menu was dated, the dish I had was unspectacular.  My date selected the restaurant and he was also unspectacular.  Perhaps that skews my perception a little.  Oh well.

I won't be going back unless it is renovated and/or changes management.  Not sure how it managed to stay in business all these years.

food was good! service was fine in the beginning..then NOT!  We have 2 kids so when service isn't good..time expires on enjoyment. I had the chicken vesuvio..well done and enough for lunch tomorrow! my wife had Sicillian ziti which she loved! HUGE amount ( 3 days more too boot) the kids enjoyed their meals too! I'll go back!

On a recent trip home we ended up having dinner here.  I have been going to this establishment through all incarnations for 35 years.  This is the worst.

Terrible service, worse food, the ambiance is not only tired but down right dirty  and ugly.  The hostess is a bitch, we were asking why our dinner was taking so long to come out.  When it came out just after inquiring , she had a snappy little remark, "see perfect timing"....BITCH.

my veal sorrentino was is a pool of fat grease at least 1.5 inches deep.  i had a couple of bites, it sucked!  Messed up pasta orders, pasta dropped on the floor right behind my back, the works!

There are plenty of Italian restaurants in Newburgh, avoid this one.
