We stopped in for some refreshment and were very disappointed. The guy behind the counter was unprofessional, dressed in a sleeveless shirt showing his pit hair. He didn't know the menu and couldn't explain the drinks. We also saw him drinking a frappe or something in front of us. They were out of their "house" specialty beverage -- lemonade -- and it was only about 3 in the afternoon.
2 stars because the place looked quaint and their menu did look good. Better service would help a lot.
Victoria's is a great place close to Aspen Mountain to come by and have a cup of coffee and listen to some good live music. I came here a couple of times. The staff is super friendly. I came here with my wife and sister in law and ordered breakfast because the Nell was full. The food was less than appealing. We ordered wheat bread and then asked the server twice after receiving the food and then was told they do not have wheat bread. I would suggest coming here for coffee and pastries. That's about it. Other than that it's a cool spot!!!!!
Review Source:This was the highest rating coffee house on Yelp for the Aspen area so I knew I had to check it out. Â It has an Aussie theme and delicious looking menu items. Â Prices weren't listed which was kind of annoying. Â Lines were long so I was betting that yelp wouldn't let me down. Â
My whole group got hot cocoas and I LOVED that they offered tons of milk options. Â A girl can't live by soy alone (HELLO STARBUCKS). Â I got an almond milk hot cocoa which ended up being about $5 for the tiny cup it was served in. Â Yowsa.
It was good though and I'm glad I got to feel connected to the Aspen community, every type of person was there in the cozy shop. Â We saw many skiers, business people, families, and shoppers stroll in while we were huddled by the window.
LOVE their pulls. Love their beans. Â I'm not a fan of Starbucks, but when traveling I fin myself disappointed with local coffee shops and will 'Buck it up after throwing out the local disaster. Dramatic and wasteful? Â Yeah, I'll admit it, but sometimes life just isn't worth exploring without good coffee. Â Anyway, Victoria and her team are wonderful and they have given me 4 consistently yummy Flat White's (between a macchiato and a cappuccino). Â Go here!
Review Source:First off, I have to qualify this by saying that I'm a BIG coffee person and love finding great cafes and roasters wherever I travel.
So that said...don't take it lightly when I say that Victoria's is my favorite coffee house in Aspen. Â They pull a great shot of espresso, make killer espresso drinks and serve some pretty fantastic pastries, croissants, quiche and the like. Victoria (she owns the joint) spent time talking to me about the beans/roasters they use and is very knowledgable about coffee. Â
I haven't had their wine yet but given my experience with their coffee, I'm excited to come back.
Fun-if-schizophrenic cafe/wine bar/bistro/art gallery. Obviously a hopping place for the "locals" (read: folks with enough $$$ to be in Aspen often).
We got there in time for fresh-from-the-oven muffins & scones which were amazing. Really amazing. I want some now. Â I got a blueberry muffin and my wife got cranberry scone. Both were just-right moist and not overly sweet.
They know their way around the espresso machine. My wife's breve was a bit too breve (her fault, no theirs) so we got another double shot. I sipped a bit of it and while slightly bitter, was one of the better pulls I'd had recently. My latte did not disappoint.
My wife's quiche was large, tasty, and served with a salad. I don't quite remember what type of quiche it was, but it was well balanced between egg & other stuff. My "cubano" sandwich was a different story. First, it came out cold. I ate half of it before deciding that the cold gruyere wasn't doing anything for me. I asked for it to be re-heated and it returned warmer, but definitely not melting-cheese warm. My hunger overtook my desire for melted cheese (and warm pork & ham) and I ate the other half. The bread was good, I guess.
Disappointing for the price, but probably as good as it gets in Aspen.
In a word, this place was inefficient.
I stopped into Victoria's while waiting for the bus to Maroon Bells, and figured 10 minutes would be enough time to get a coffee. Â Nope. Â Missed the bus.
The coffee itself was okay, but the restaurant and staff just seemed chaotic. Â The barista did help me decide what to order, but then she seemed to get tied up in another project, and left me standing there while my bus cruised on by.
We returned later that day (convenient location!) for another member of our party to grab a quick iced tea, and it was another 10 minute wait-- and this didn't even require any assembly!
Fine if you're in a pinch, but nothing special, and very pricey.
Going here always makes me sad. The espresso is excellent, but there are so many things wrong here. First, the service is always way below average. Noone looks happy to be here, and it has always taken two tries to get the espresso right. I wish I had taken a photo of what they tried to give me on this visit -- an overflowing espresso cup of hot water. Then, there's the pastries, or should I say lack of pastries. It looks like they have a kitchen there, but every time I go in, there are just a couple pre-wrapped brownies.
Review Source:Wonderful outdoor patio with great salads, chocolate croissants (my husband loved), coffee, wine, and even sometimes, live music. Â Last Thursday we went to enjoy a glass of wine and sit outside someplace reasonable, where we could enjoy the beautiful evening weather in Aspen. Â We were recommended to go to Victoria's. Â What a treat for us!!! Â Great food/drink and best of all some amazing music talent entertained us and made our last day in Aspen very special. Â Thank you to Victoria's for providing reasonable food/drinks/entertainment and an awesome waiter!
Review Source:I get that these guys are the anti-Starbucks. I read the snarky little sign "Imagine a world without tasteless peaches, black ink coffee and super-sized cups." I laughed. It's true. But a lot of people LIKE black ink... a LOT of it. And my black ink coffee shop happened to close at noon on the day I waltzed through town.
I gave my taste buds a pep talk and then communicated clearly with the barista. They were all so nice! The espresso was SO good. But the execution (three different times) was SO espresso-y that I couldn't taste anything else. I typically get a soy mocha which is like.... kinda sweet, right? But they use REAL chocolate and melt it down. Awesome. But it tastes like crap, sorry friends :(
Excellent espresso. Â Friendly staff, good service. Â Even latte art! Â Night and day difference compared to Ink next door. Â I left Ink after drinking half my coffee because the staff was rude and the coffee was garbage. Â So happy that I gave Victoria's a try. Â High quality espresso...just what I was looking for. Â And they have free wifi! Â Nice seating area with plenty of comfortable tables. Â Well done! Â I'm having a hard time understanding the negative reviews here....the only minor criticism I have is their prices are a little high. Â But this is Aspen.
Review Source:Ok first of all, if the sign says Espresso and Wine bar, I would expect to be able to get wine. My friend and I went in wanting a glass of wine and they told us that they can not sell it yet. Umm, why open if you can't sell half your menu AND you have bottles ready to go? I then ordered a coffee drink and sat down. Worst latte I had ever had. I ended up throwing it out because I just couldn't stand the taste anymore. Next time, I will go across the street to Starbucks.
Review Source:This cafe has charm and good location. Â It's about a block from the ski lifts and across the street from the park. Â
In the winter months, they employ international college students who come to the US to improve their English so please be patient with the help.
They have a wide selection of loose leaf tea and coffee drinks to keep you warm. Â The soups and paninis are great and it's a warm place to talk to the wide variety of people that head to Aspen in the wintertime from all over the world.
Cute shop. Very well done for an independent shop.
I had to stop in here to get an afternoon coffee, because we were walking around doing shopping and after the sun went behind the mountain, it dropped 20 degrees. I only had the french press coffee, but I was just fine and did the trick, I would have like to have tried the food or the ice creams but it was just way too cold. But i thought this little shop just added to the charm that Aspen has.
I was stunned to have stumbled into Aspen on a beautiful Sunday morning to discover that there is pretty much nothing open. Â The restaurant we had planned to eat breakfast at was closed...on a Sunday?!? Â We wondered around the downtown area until we found a large gathering of folks, hovering around Victoria's. Â There is nothing special about the interior - it's simple and functional. Â The staff is friendly and efficient, especially considering the mass of people lined up. Â My coffee was fabulous - a well made macchiato. Â What else could I ask for? Â The pastries are meh, but I really enjoyed my lox and bagel - a classic that is hard to f--- up. Â Overall, big points for having coffee bright and early on a lazy Sunday.
Review Source:wow. Â poor poor poor service.
it  was a very warm day in aspen and i wanted ice cream -- STAT.  one of the friendly tourist booth ladies recommended this joint, and said that the flavors were "different".
the cashiers all seem to be in their teens, and were not too thrilled to be working there. Â in fact, i overheard one girl tell another about the cashier that was helping me, "she [cashier] is so good. Â i can't be at the register for too long, i start to hate people." Â WOW! Â i have ears young maz-madamoiselle. Â learn to be a little more discreet dumbass.
i got the honey lavender, sea salt caramel combo. Â i have an addiction to this flavor combo... it's ridiculous, and delicious.
my friend got the dolce gorgonzola. Â (which sounds strange, but was actually quite delicious -- sweet and salty -- yum!) Â however, it seemed that the young ladies at the front seemed to forget that she ordered it, probably as soon as she paid for it. Â she said that they kept looking at her dumbly as she was standing there waiting for them to give her her scoop, while other people were being served before her.
another friend ordered the affogato, straight from the menu. Â the cashier didn't have a clue what that was and even asked another girl if they served that. Â my friend pointed at their menu, and said -- "it's right here" then proceeded to describe how it was made. Â WOW.
their ice cream is delicious, but the service seriously needs to get it together. Â if i am ever in aspen again, i won't lie -- i probably will stop by again, but only because i'm an ice cream monster.
So the coffee is good -- their espresso has the right consistency and balance to it. Â Their smoothies are good. Â Now their "brekkie", this is where they lose me. Â They have absolutely wretched eggs and bacon. Â Runny/watery eggs with a sweet flavor and bacon looks like vegan bacon (I don't think it was). Â So get the coffee, skip the breakfast.
Review Source:My wife and I just stopped by Victoria's to try their ice cream. It was an amazing treat for our taste buds. Their flavors are inventive - choices like Bourbon Chocolate, Strawberry Pinot, Cupcake, and Chili Chai. And they taste fantastic. Their ice cream is smooth, without without any sign of any unwanted frozen crystals. If you are an ice cream connoisseur you should definitely check them out. They beat Paradise Bakery hands down.
Review Source:This is probably one of the better cafe/coffee shop spots I've found so far here. The ice cream was surprisingly delicious and full on flavor - the menu features several interesting flavors like chai, sea salt caramel, coconut lime, nutella, and oatmeal chocolate. A little pricey at $5 for a small cup, but I was happy with the quality.
Good selection of pastries in the display, smoothies, salads and soups change daily.
Plenty of seats, two outlets. Cup of water had some dirt in it, and there were too many flies in the environment...but for what it's worth, I'll probably be back.
Went here twice for breakfast while in town and loved it... They had great blood orange juice and I also tried a peach ginger yogurt drink that was wonderful... I had scrambled eggs that were divine and crisp bacon... I also had a chocolate muffin top which was really good and baked that day. Â It was busy there both times so the word is out--- you can take your food and sit outside which is nice. Â You order your food and then sit down until they call you -- not much of a wait. Â Would eat here again.
Review Source:I feel as if Victoria's had me in mind when they designed there concept: an espresso AND wine bar in my all time favorite ski town around the corner from my place and en route to the mountain.
Everything is made in house from scratch and it shows: The doughnut muffin tops were light and fluffy; the chocolate croissants were delicate, flaky and streaked with gooey melted chocolate; whoever created those dulce de leche cookies deserves a special spot in heaven.
The service was also top notch: the counter staff were warm and attentive and made killer macchiattos on multiple occasions.
I didn't get a chance to sample the wines, but the selection looked fun and funky and super artisanal (hellooooooooo Colorado Gewurtztraminer!).
Coming to Aspen often during the past 25 years, my pals and I became quite picky with the places we would frequent. Â This year, we were extremely pleased to discover Victoria's for the first time. Â This small, but cozy cafe features some awesome coffee drinks, "out of this world" food, and some fantastic personal service. Â Of course, with great food comes great responsibility. Â We noted that service here can take MUCH longer than you'd expect at McDonald's! Â But hey, we did not come to Aspen to get McDonald's-like speedy service! Â When served, the drink and food at Victoria's does NOT disappoint (and that's what counts, really).
Victoria's has a nice atmosphere too - and some wonderful hosts!  During our visit, we were fortunate to actually meet the owners (John and...yes, Victoria)!  Both are delightfully wonderful people who took the time out of their busy day to chat with us.  They really care about their establishment (something that is admittedly lacking at some other establishments) and their guests.  We sure appreciated their attention to detail here and wish café's everywhere were like the "family" we found at Victoria's.  In our opinion, Victoria's is one of those rare places in Aspen that has the quality of a fine, yet casual establishment, fantastic food and drink and (through their owners, employees and fellow guests) exudes the personality of a family establishment that really cares.
My friends and I look forward to returning to Victoria's the next time we're in Aspen.
I'm glad Nick enjoyed his visit, but honestly I was tremendously disappointed. Â I really wanted to love this place and I was particularly interested in the wine and the ice cream. Â However....
The staff seemed disheveled and confused by their own menu. Â The girl working the counter ws so timid and scared I actually had to ask her if she was taking our order! Â Until that point I was asking her questions and she just kept smiling at me but not answering.
Their wine board didn't have any wines listed, and I couldn't make enough eye contact with anyone to ask why. Â I admired the ice cream which a sign outside said was "house made, small batch" and the girl behind the counter then told the woman in front of me about the father son duo that make it in Boulder. Â Granted, that is small batch and not made by a major manufacturer, but not exactly the impression the sign gave me. Â Nonetheless, I planned to come back for dessert.
We ordered sandwiches, although she wasn't sure what the price was (wasn't she the one ringing them up?). The other two women were running around frantically and complaining about someone being on break.
While we waited for our sandwiches (over 10 minutes) we overheard 1 woman complain that she'd been charged 3 different prices for iced tea over the last 3 days. Â
Finally we received our order and the sandwiches were surprisingly small. Â Some sort of 4x4 inch ciabatta bread, but it was tasty. Â The pasta salad was a sore disappointment. Â It was listed as an entree, but what we received was literally 3 fork fulls of pasta in a large 1/2 pound Deli container. Â
Our total order came to $29 so I'm thinking the sandwiches were around $9 each. Â But I didn't find them quite worth that money, even in Aspen.
The lunch was saved by the fact that we were able to take it down the street and watch the dogs and kids play in the fountain.
But after that experience, not even small-batch ice cream was enough to get me back in the door.
Had an incredibly good experience here. I was a little leery of the pretentious tone (and prices) but the espresso macchiato really was as good as the pretense claimed. The cute barista made my drink twice, when she felt the foam wasn't quite right. Then brought a complimentary one over to me after I'd been there for a couple hours.
The chicken/bacon/avocado sandwich I ordered was also really tasty (though not "Incredible" like the server said).
