If you're looking for great authentic Italian food, or even just a killer slice of pizza, Villa Italia is the place to be. Conveniently located on Route 300 in Newburgh, it's a good place for lunch with co-workers or dinner with the family. While still providing a comfortable atmosphere to sit and take your time enjoying your meal, if you happen to be in a rush, they can have you in and out in just a few minutes.
Review Source:Can't really go wrong with Villa Italia. Eaten there numerous times, and the food is always tasty, if at times a tad unspectacular. Most of the pasta dishes are pretty solid, and the pizza is generally always good. The decor is nice inside-basically this is a pizzeria that also serves as a small restaurant, so it's cozy inside, and the wait staff is always attentive and friendly.
If you are in the mood for pizza, this is more of a 'order a pie for take out or eat in' type of place, so don't expect a variety of slices on display for a quick bite. Like I said earlier, the pizza is generally pretty good, with a flavorful sauce, nice crust, and generous toppings. Some of their gourmet pies are well prepared, but you get the impression that they don't make or sell a lot of them, as whenever we order one it takes quite a while and they don't always get the ingredients correct based on what the menu says.
Pasta & meat entrees are decent-though you can perhaps find better elsewhere in town, I've never actually had anything bad at Villa Italia, though we do find the prices a little on the high side for what you get. Service is generally quick for the most part when seated in the restaurant.
Are there better places to go in the area? Yeah, but Villa Italia generally is pretty good if you live locally and don't feel like driving too far and want a nice solid Italian meal.
We had to make a trip to New Windsor and were considering going to Godfather's Pizza just to try the gluten free pizza. Â The friend we had to visit suggested we try Villa Italia instead, saying his wife also has Celiac Disease and eats here all the time and loves it.
The gluten free pizza was not on the menu, so we're glad he told us about it.  I ordered a GF pizza and hubby ordered a regular pie for himself.  When they came out his definitely "looked" better than mine, but hey, I was going to eat PIZZA again!  WOOHOO!  The crust on my pizza was ok, I mean it's gluten free so I knew it wasn't going to be wonderful but the sauce they use is REALLY good and so were the toppings.  Hubby liked his pizza but had to ask for more sauce as there wasn't a lot on his pizza.  We were brought  a big bowl of sauce which we both agreed was so good we would have eaten it as soup! Â
Overall, the food was good but the service was a little slow.
Wow. Â Just wow. Â This place is amazing. FAR exceeded my expectations even after I saw the 4.5 star rating.
We had a party of 9 and they quickly rearranged tables to accommodate us.
We got the spicy chicken pizza which was superb except for the actual chicken meat on it; good not great.
Also got a plain pepperoni cheese which was awesome for what it was.
Biggest "large" calzone ever!  And also awesome!
Angel hair pasta was great too. W shrimp or chicken basil.
Then, surprise! we got comped an espresso after the meal.
Final verdict: well I gave it 5 stars so, yeah.
I ate a late lunch here yesterday. Â My husband and I have dined here over the past several years, about every few months or so. Â
Our server, Pastor, was a great waiter. Â We've been served by him several times before. Â He's very friendly, funny, attentive and polite. Â Always prompt service!
The restaurant is in a great location at the corners of Route 300 & 32, but it is always quiet in the building, as well as cozy. Â But the ambiance has a bit of a diner feel to it (just a bit). Â There are no booths, though, only tables/chairs.
There are "soft" alcoholic beverages available (tap beer, wine, etc.) and the food is always very tasty and satisfying. Â You never leave there feeling hungry and I always have left-overs to bring home. Â I've never had a complaint about the food quality, the quantity or the presentation. Â Prices are fairly reasonable and in accord with today's prices for dining out.
As the name reveals, the primary style of food served is Italian. Â The home-made pizzas and all of the various Italian style dishes that we've had over time have all been very good, and are always consistantly prepared. Consistancy is very important in the business world.
This is the kind of pizza I dream about.
That's all.
[Dammit, I really wanted to make that the whole review. BUT: I should say the following things. Villa Italia is:
-cheap
-quick
-friendly
-dine in or take out
-gluten free if you need it
-DELICIOUS
They have salads, sandwiches, and entrees as well as pizza. Duh. It's a great place.]
