These Asian Eats N Beats do it for me!
It's not the most upfront setting but once you step inside, it's totally worth it. The decor is trendy and the fact that they have two different menus to please all customers is fantastic. One menu focuses on traditional Chinese cuisine while the other is more American-inspired foods. They really do serve to all appetites (and that goes for drinks as well!)
Our waitress was friendly and very attentive to our table (especially since I needed a water refill roughly 12 times). My friend and I ordered the lettuce wraps for a starter, which were amazing. The curry sauce gave the meat a nice, healthy kick and being able to portion your own wraps and build them yourselves was a lot of fun. For my entree I ordered the Green Curry with shrimp. I was eyeing the Red Curry but our waitress was not off the mark when she warned me it was the hottest thing on their menu and that she loved spice but couldn't even handle it. When I looked doubtful, she suggested ordering the Green Curry and she would bring me a side dish of curry paste just in case I needed a little more heat. Needless to say, I never touched the paste. The curry was full of flavor and was a healthy portion with brown rice on the side for only $10. Â
I can't wait to head here again, it was a nice change from the usual places I hit up when I'm in Edwardsville!
The food was absolutely delicious. Being a vegetarian, I am always on the lookout for restaurants that serve delicious vegetarian menu options. Wang Gang is definitely one of those restaurants. You can order tofu (or beef, chicken, or vegetables) with any entree on the menu which means Wang Gang is VERY vegetarian friendly. I ordered the General Wang (which is their version of General Tso's) with tofu and brown rice. The meal was delicious.
My one complaint was that the waitstaff could have been a bit better. The waitstaff definitely was not awful, but there were times where we were left  at the table with empty water glasses for extended periods of time. The restaurant was quite busy so this may have been the cause.
Overall Wang Gang was a delicious restaurant.
