Wipeout Bar And Grill

I had lunch at the Wipeout today with a friend. Overall, we found the food to be very good, but the service lackadaisical and/or untrained. We sat outside.  We hailed a passing person, and asked if we should order inside, or if there were waiters. "I can wait on you," he told us cheerfully. "Would you like anything to drink? Oh, maybe you want a menu !" he said . We agreed. We would like to look at a menu. When he came back with the menus, and started to put them down, we asked him if he could please wipe our table first. The table we were sitting at was grubby, smeared and sprinkled with crumbs. You might expect this sort of oversight from a fast food joint, but what sort of decent restaurant plops menus down on a dirty table? Ugh. The service continued to be cheery but inefficient. We got everything we asked for, but we had to ask for everything. Bread. Butter. Sweetener for our ice tea. Nobody offered to refill our ice tea, though it melted down to a warm puddle in the bottom of our glasses. The food was very good. I had a seared Ahi Tuna salad, that was one of the best I've ever had. I got lime cilantro dressing, which was piquant and nice. My friend had a gorgonzola salad, also very good. I was surprised that the only bread they had available was sliced, packaged sourdough, and that we had to ask for it, and were charged an additional dollar. I would eat here again, because the food was good, but I will be aware that I can't assume that the servers will anticipate any needs (like having a clean table.)

Delicious Food...  great environment inside and outside...  lots of attention from the staff.. always asking if you need something more...   Gerald , the Manager, was so friendly and came by to make sure we were all happy...    reasonable prices (not too low, not too high). We will go back for sure.

I'm a little bummed....as I liked the staff here, but the food was ......meh and over priced.  I ordered a nachos with chicken, to try something different.  Over $17.00!!!  The chicken was tough and boring, and the overall taste was not too exciting....very bland. I'm bummed I didn't try a salad or something more exciting and not so boring, but I thought they sounded really good to get.  I do like the beach vibe here....but it was super hot inside and the ceiling fans didn't really help much. It would have been a nicer environment if it was a bit cooler in there.  Oh well.
