For beer conniesiours this is the place to go.  Huge selection, case after case of bottled brew from all over the world and a large selection of taps. There must have been 60 or so. Several Nitro taps too which are rare and welcome variety. Needs some cask ale though

If you like Flying Saucer, you'll love World of Beer. In fact I think I like World of Beer better. It's less beer hall and more sports bar than Saucer, but their selection is terrific and the service is MUCH better than Saucer.  Wedged in the bottom level of the Captrust building, it's an odd neighbor to Yard House (which also specializes in having hundreds of beers) but it does so without being overpriced or crowded. The biggest differences between Yard House and World of Beer (and Saucer for that matter) are that World of Beer doesn't serve any food (so they require a private membership - just have to sign up), only serves beer and cider, and has a much more laid back atmosphere with comfy bar tables.  Checked out World of Beer on a Thursday night, there were a number of outdoor tables and inside tables available. Our waitress was fantastic - she was super helpful and was very knowledgable about all the beers and if she didn't know something she asked the bartenders and had answers and samples back in seconds. Really top notch service.  The beer we had was a bit expensive (we didn't see any prices on the menu) - but it was worth it to try something different and to be helped in deciding what to get.  We were particularly impressed by the variety of beers on tap - including a number from SC which we hadn't heard of - and massive coolers of bottled beer including all the lambic flavors that are hard to find.  Since they don't serve food, we saw other patrons ordering take-out that was delivered there, pretty cool - reminds me of going to a local brewery with 1000x the selection of beer. If you're a lover of beer, do yourself a big, delicious favor and check out World of Beer.

World of Beer is sort of an interesting concept in that it seems to basically be a sports bar minus the food. Considering the variety of good food options nearby (many that deliver right to WoB), that isn't a big deal. They have a decent selection of beers on tap which is supplemented by a large bottled selection. They also offer some wine options. The prices vary from $5 to $10 depending on what you get. Not the cheapest, but not much different in price from their next door neighbor. They also have half price drafts on Mondays. Similarly to the Flying Saucer they have a beer club you can join which offers various rewards after having had a certain number of different beers. The staff have generally been pretty friendly, although I wouldn't recommend sitting upstairs if it isn't too crowded and you don't want to be forgotten about.

I get where it isn't necessarily everyone's pint of brew, but it is a good option if you're closer to the North Hills area and looking for a decent beer selection.
