If you like Flying Saucer, you'll love World of Beer. In fact I think I like World of Beer better. It's less beer hall and more sports bar than Saucer, but their selection is terrific and the service is MUCH better than Saucer. Â Wedged in the bottom level of the Captrust building, it's an odd neighbor to Yard House (which also specializes in having hundreds of beers) but it does so without being overpriced or crowded. The biggest differences between Yard House and World of Beer (and Saucer for that matter) are that World of Beer doesn't serve any food (so they require a private membership - just have to sign up), only serves beer and cider, and has a much more laid back atmosphere with comfy bar tables. Â Checked out World of Beer on a Thursday night, there were a number of outdoor tables and inside tables available. Our waitress was fantastic - she was super helpful and was very knowledgable about all the beers and if she didn't know something she asked the bartenders and had answers and samples back in seconds. Really top notch service. Â The beer we had was a bit expensive (we didn't see any prices on the menu) - but it was worth it to try something different and to be helped in deciding what to get. Â We were particularly impressed by the variety of beers on tap - including a number from SC which we hadn't heard of - and massive coolers of bottled beer including all the lambic flavors that are hard to find. Â Since they don't serve food, we saw other patrons ordering take-out that was delivered there, pretty cool - reminds me of going to a local brewery with 1000x the selection of beer. If you're a lover of beer, do yourself a big, delicious favor and check out World of Beer.
Review Source:World of Beer is sort of an interesting concept in that it seems to basically be a sports bar minus the food. Considering the variety of good food options nearby (many that deliver right to WoB), that isn't a big deal. They have a decent selection of beers on tap which is supplemented by a large bottled selection. They also offer some wine options. The prices vary from $5 to $10 depending on what you get. Not the cheapest, but not much different in price from their next door neighbor. They also have half price drafts on Mondays. Similarly to the Flying Saucer they have a beer club you can join which offers various rewards after having had a certain number of different beers. The staff have generally been pretty friendly, although I wouldn't recommend sitting upstairs if it isn't too crowded and you don't want to be forgotten about.
I get where it isn't necessarily everyone's pint of brew, but it is a good option if you're closer to the North Hills area and looking for a decent beer selection.
Was here on a Tue evening around 6:00 pm. The place was crowded with multiple groups of youngsters hanging out. They have a changing menu of draft beer everyday, quite a good collection. Beers from North Carolina were on sale on Tue ( and I am from outside NC) so went with that.
Sat at the bar, two beers for $8 after discount can't complain.
Had a " Foothills Torch Pilsner" and Lonerider Shotgun Betty 12 (Heff).
This place is right next to Yard House
What a great place! WOB has everything you could ever want. So many beers on tap, then over 500 different bottles available. They don't serve food which is kind of cool. However, you can order from several restaurants in the area and they will deliver to you, awesome!!! Very cool spot to just come and have a beer.
Review Source:Yes, World of Beer has beers. Bottled beer, beer on tap. All kinds of beer. So many beers! Know what else they have? So. Many. TV. Sets. All sports. But all showing different sports shows. It's like being in an ESPN control room, with beer (which may also be a perk of ESPN control rooms; I don't know).
The interior is echo-y, so I'm grateful that all those TV sets aren't set to Blare; it gets loud enough with a crowd as it is not to need any help. If you're hard of hearing like I am, you might want to sit outside or on the enclosed patio on a busy night. The music is strange; played in blocks, like four country songs followed by four emo ballads followed by four pop tunes. Eventually, you might hear something you like. You will definitely find a beer you like among the chilled bottles and ready taps, and if you don't like beer you have come to the incorrect establishment. Staff have been friendly enough the times I've been there, the beers have been good and the prices fair. WoB isn't a bad place, but the perfect combination of drinks, clientele, staff and atmosphere isn't hitting the spots I need to want to make it a regular watering hole. If you like beer, and you like silent multiple screens of sports almost as much as you like beer, give it a try!
Great place to be on a Friday night. Tons of beer on tap. Go in & keep an open mind & enjoy the atmosphere . Please note they don't sell food BUT one of the servers told us some places deliver to WOB...eh, I would suggest to just drink your beer there and physically GO somewhere else to eat afterwards or just eat something before you get there/
Review Source:This place does not live up to it's name. I expected more.
Both times I've been it has been incredibly crowded with nowhere to sit and barely to stand. While it is a bar and the band playing on the balcony is cool, WOB doesn't serve food and they were out of the first four beers I asked for from the list. The kitsch of this place is neat, don't get me wrong, but it is plain-out lacking.
You can order food from jimmy johns or whatever place you want, but it's awkward. I don't understand how a place operates serving just alcohol, getting people extremely drunk, and doesn't serve something to dilute it. Seems like a huge liability to me.
Also, if you are going to call yourself "World of Beer" make sure you are stocked. Oh, and the service sucks. If I was working for tips I would be busting my behind.
I ended up at World of Beer for the first time last weekend with some friends, and I was impressed. Â They had a live band playing which was great (although a bit too loud for my tastes) and free food on the patio. Â Although I was DD, the beer selection was great. Â It was a bit pricey, but the atmosphere and variety of choice made up for the slight upcharge. Â Our waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable. Â The place was busy, but it wasn't too crowded and there seemed to be a wide range of ages of customers. I enjoyed World of Beer, but since I'm on a budget I think my visits there will have to be for special occasions.
Review Source:They DO NOT serve food here, I repeat, they DO NOT serve food here. Yes you can have it delivered, but I still can't get over the fact that a place with so many ways to get drunk has no food available.
The drink menu is huge and they do have a pretty good selection of cider for those who are gluten free. HOWEVER, I ordered something on tap (a sour cherry cider) that was NINE DOLLARS a glass. Glad I stopped at 2!
The outdoor patio is very spacious and is pleasant on a nice day. It can get pretty loud in there when it's packed. I was impressed with the service with it being wall to wall people.
I don't see myself going back too often, I like to hang out at places where I can get my food and drinks on one ticket.
Been back several times since last November. Â Prices are still outrageous for a place that does not serve food. Â For the uninformed, restaurants make their money on alcohol. Â IPA night was pretty cool but still pricey. Â I had to go check it out anyway as IPA's are my faves. Â Definitely a 20 something crowd that hangs here. Â You would think they could at least serve free pretzels or nuts. Â Only go here if someone else is paying.
Review Source:World of Beer, World of Cheer! Â What can I say but I didn't have particularly high expectations for this place but an event brought me to World of Beer in North Hills for a quick visit. Â Pluses: Â Nice patio, good selection of draft, efficient wait staff. Â
But wait, there's more! Â Yeah, the minuses. Â While WoB is an ok spot for a brewski, I'm not a fan for a variety of more subtle reasons. Â Small music stage up top, bar is loaded with flat screens, display case of cigars, the place seems a bit schizophrenic. Â Are you a sports bar? Â Entertainment venue? Â Man lounge? Â My take on beer pubs and gardens is that they should be cozy and low-brow. Definitely not the case for World of Beer given their North Hills location and crowd. Â Staff was efficient but not in the same class as the Flying Saucer. Â Not just in terms of attractiveness but personality. I'm not even a huge fan of the Saucer but I'd choose to go there over WoB most days of the week.
I have to confess I don't get the WoB concept. Â A large corporate beeratorium without any food, interesting ambiance or personality. Â It seems to be a mish-mash of concepts with none done terribly well, along with a boring name. Â But who knows, maybe the new Yardhouse they're building next door will be better...
If you are thinking of going to World of Beer on Six Forks in Raleigh for any of the following, DON'T bother:
- Bud, bud light, bud light lime, Coors light, mgd, etc. - They don't sell yellow water.
- Jack, Jim, Jose, captain. - They don't sell booze (go next door for a shot and then come back).
- Bad pizza, tots, greasy burgers - They don't sell food (you can have it delivered, which is pretty awesome).
- Your name on the Drinker's Board of Fame - You would have a hard time getting past current number 4. T. Demakes.
- Looking for a cool UNC/Hipster Bar - Put on some socks when you wear leather loafers and take off your scarf if it isn't February. Â This isn't a hipster bar.
Now, why you SHOULD go to World of Beer on Six Forks in Raleigh:
- The friendliest and most knowledgeable bartenders - If you like beer, you can tell Tim, Carlos or the rest of the staff what you like or don't like and they will find your next favorite beer. Â It will be the next beer that you brag to all your friends about, guaranteed.
- Beer - Real beer. Â Like 7% ABV, hoppy, malty, punch you in the face b.e.e.r. Â I think there were 50 beers on tap, 450+ bottles (over 500 total). Â Local, regional, international...they have it. Â The beer will literally make you a better person. Â They also have 10+ hard ciders for the ladies that don't prefer beer. Â They are good too, unlike the garbage at TJ McFunsters.
- TV's. Â 8 to 12 of them (I was possibly seeing double at one point, so I'm not sure). Â All tuned to sports. Â All crystal clear HD. Â All easy to see.
- Good food delivered - 5 or so restaurants will bring you real food. Â BBQ, sandwiches, Chinese. Â Way better than frozen bar food.
- Free food Sunday afternoons - Caleb, the GM, grills you hamburgers and hot dogs for free. Â
- Prices - Most pints ranged from $4 to $6, which is really good.
- Beer - Did I mention this? Â Seriously. Â Put a Mad River Jamaica Red Ale to your lips and tell me it isn't the most delicious thing the good Lord HIMSELF ever created.

Great beer selection, well organized. Barkeep was extremely friendly. Â Discussed beer selections at length without coming off like a snobby beer hipster. Â Made excellent suggestions. Â Ordered food from a local restaurant and they delivered directly to the bar. Â All around great place.
Review Source:Whenever I go to WOB, I immediately think of that Toby Keith song, "I Love This Bar." Not because it's particularly redneck or anything like that . . . but just that it suits me just fine. You cannot beat the beer selection . . . as much of a beer snob as I am, I found many choices that I had never heard of, much less tried. Love the outside space, especially the lounges. And I kinda dig the idea of ordering from any of the surrounding restaurants and having my food delivered. The only drawback to this place is the service, otherwise I would give it 5 stars. I have been numerous times and at no time was it packed . . . but I have had to hunt down a waitress. The waitresses I have had do not seem to be particularly knowledgeable about all the beer, they don't even know how to properly pronounce the names of some of the beers. Fortunately, it's about the beer here, so I continue to go and enjoy some of the most unusual and delightful beer choices around. YAH, WOB!
Review Source:Beer, beer and more beer!! After a work event at Sparians across the street my coworkers and I headed over for a few cold ones. This was my first experience here, and I thought the beer selection was amazing. There were a ton of beers on draft and pages and pages of bottled beers.  The menu can be a bit intimidating, so it helps if you already know the style of beer you like. The beers are organized by style so if you know what you like  you can flip over to that section and make a choice.
There was so much me and the boy both wanted to try that we had to argue over who was going to take it easy so one of us could drive home, bummer. I lost the battle and was stuck with the task, therefore only allowing me to try two beers, and both were fantastic. Â The first was a beer from South Caroline the RJ Rocker Son of a Peach. At first taste the peach flavor was slightly overwhelming I think because I wasn't used to the taste, but after a few sips I really enjoyed the refreshing taste of it. Perfect for summertime. The next beer I got was a draft mix. Â It was a Belgium wit mixed with a splash of raspberry lambic. I love fruity drinks so this was absolutely fantastic. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their choices, and I heard no complaints around the table. WOB is kind enough to let you know sample any draft you may want to try, which is helpful as well.
Downsides...they do not serve food whatsoever. Â We had already eaten at Sparians, so this was not an issue for us, however they will bring food in from restaurants in the surrounding area, and can provide full menus to each place. Â I guess the benefit of doing it this was is that everyone in your party can get exactly what they want without having to argue where to get food from.
Another downside...price. I thought this place was just slightly too pricy, they definitely charge a dollar or two more than other beer stores, although that could be in part because they are in an upscale area such as North Hills. It is really easy to get carried away here.
Finally...the atmosphere. I didn't at all like the atmosphere of this place. It didn't look like I expected it too, and with so many unique beers I expected it to have a unique look. It looked like somewhere you'd meet for a business meeting, not a night out with friends.
Overall I enjoyed my experience at WOB. I really loved their selection, and will definitely be back to try the things on the menu I couldn't try while I was there. If you consider yourself any kind of beer connoisseur, I recommend checking it out!
I finally made it to World of Beer the other night and it was great. The atmosphere is great and has a lot of patio seating. There is an upstairs though didn't see how to get up there. They seem to have a lot of live music and have a cool little balcony area just for the band to play on. That helps to keep it out of your way. The bar is long and many different places to sit.
The choice of beer is overwhelming. The list of beers on draft is only one page front and back but the list of beer in bottles is huge. It's a book with pages and pages of beer. They have something for everyone and you want to have an idea of what you like so you're not overwhelmed. I got a beer from SC which was peach flavored and would highly recommend it. It is on draft and I think it is RJ Rockers. This is definitely a place to go if you love beer and like trying new things.
Albeit it was a Monday, no reason to have such poor service. Â One star for the bartender being knowledgeable and friendly. Â Another for, of course, the beer, but it ends there. Â Wait staff was unfriendly and flat out lazy. Â And speaking of that, the manager/toad couldn't even bother to help me find the restroom. Â Might be good with a group and some music, but not worth risking. Â I can find better elsewhere...even in Raleigh.
Review Source:Only been there once, so it probably deserves a second shot, but I was really unimpressed. Â Service was extremely slow and the draft list was not as great as I expected. Â And the prices were way too high. Â I expected high prices for a place like this in North Hills, and I'm happy to pay a premium for rare or exceptional beer, but $6 for a Fat Tire is just absurd. Â As I said, maybe they deserve a second chance, but with plenty other beer bars and breweries around the Triangle, I don't know that it will get one.
Review Source:Lame.
Tons of beer when I went -- but the two I asked for first were sold out... bummer.
No food and no alcohol made the night pretty boring and we ended up going to fox and hound across the street.
Good concept I suppose, but super packed and lack of beers, plus no food was a deal breaker. Plus there were THREE women in there with newborns... like fresh out of the womb, it was a strange north hills hipster controlling mom and alkie dads spot.
Won't be back.
We went there last night as part of the Yelp Beer-Bake off event and had a GREAT TIME! Â The beer selection is amazing! Â The live music is awesome and the atmosphere is REALLY REALLY nice. Â The ONLY reason I wouldn't give this bar 5 stars is that they don't have food. Â For a place to hang out? Â This is your place!!!
Review Source:went here yesterday looking for a special beer for a friend and we were dismayed to discover they were closed! no matter, the owner and a bartender who was off duty, just hanging out, were there to open the door and invite us in for a drink! we sat and drank as the bartender explained the facets of each beer to us and we sampled many of the beers they had on tap. Carlos took great care in making sure that we tried a beer on tap similar to that which we wanted in the bottle to make sure we wouldn't be disappointing in our choices.
the place was nice. like other reviews we saw they do not sell food but they were loaded with a list of suggestions from restaurants that deliver and we were told we can bring our own food if we'd like.
great experience. being welcomed in when they weren't even open and treated like VIP by someone who wasn't even getting paid to work. it was clear to us that he loves his job and knows his beers well. when you head over this way make sure you ask for Carlos. he will make sure you wont leave disappointed.
After a few visits now to World of Beer, I have noticed they have made some changes for the better which is why my review has been bumped up by one star from what it would have been two or three months ago.
The best part about this place is the awesome selection of beer. You can try beer from all over the world and they have a great selection of beers on drafts that you don't see anywhere else in Raleigh. It is hard for me to come here and get anything besides Delirium Tremens (my number one favorite beer, especially on draft). However, they truly have a menu where anyone, no matter what their taste in beer is, can find something they will like.
I also like the fact that the servers will let you sample a beer if you are not sure which one to order. Not everywhere around here will do this. Each time I have been here, the service has been awesome. Although they do not serve food, I think it's really cool how they let you bring in outside food and will provide you with a list of businesses nearby for suggestions for anyone who is hungry.
The main thing I used to dislike about this place was how they organized their beers. It was organized alphabetically, making it really hard to identify beers by style if you were craving a certain type of beer. However, the last time I was there (around 2 weeks ago), I noticed that they have now changed their menu so that the beers are organized by style which makes an extensive menu like theirs much easier to navigate.
The main reasons I do not rank World of Beer higher is because although the selection is great, I don't find this to be a very unique bar as far as the atmosphere. Like someone else noticed, this place really does have a corporate feel to it and overall the place doesn't seem as unique as other beer bars in the area. Additionally, I thought I would really love that they have music here most nights, but on two occasions I have been there the music was pretty bad and so loud that it was nearly impossible to have a conversation. I understand that it is crowded here, but I personally like to be able to go to a bar and talk to the person next to me without having to yell (music or no music). The other thing I dislike about the place is some of their prices seem to be a dollar or so higher than some other bars in the area. Overall, however, this is a cool spot to go if you are in the mood for drinking a beer or two you've never had before.
A welcome addition to an ever-more bustling selection of great beer places in Raleigh! The ambiance is different and a little more cutting edge versus your so-called normal beer bar. It's always packed, but the service has been consistently friendly. Looks like their outdoor patio should be great for those nice days we're about to starting having. This place is a great reason to venture over to the 'other side' of North Hills. No, they don't serve food, but they encourage you to BYOF, and even list some nearby places in their menu to help you out.
Review Source:Retarded beer selection. Â I love that they don't serve food, as if to say "You come here to drink". Â I would give a 6th star if I could for the fact that they don't serve Bud Light or any of that piss water. Â I've never experienced a long wait to get a drink. Â They may be a bit pricey, but they usually have some killer high-gravity beers for $5, which are more than 2 weaker beers combined... fine by me. Â I just got back from London where local pubs were charging $18 per bottle for the same American beers, so I'm just grateful to have such amazing beer so affordable. Â The crowd there is not as old as I thought a N. Raleigh bar would be, it is more young professional, so that is great, and everyone seems pretty cool chatting each other up. Â Love the band loft. Â Servers are great. Â Bottom line: amazing beer, amazing location.
Review Source:Awesome, awesome place for REAL beer lovers. No frosted mugs here - just a huge selection of taps and bottles. Comforting to see bartenders who know how to attend to the crowd as well...
They have a wide selection of beer, and in an upscale area such as North Hills, I expected to pay more for my alcohol. I went on a Monday night and there were plenty of beer specials - I had a $4 IPA from a bottle. Awesome.
The bar is accommodating to groups (there was one on the upstairs loft), and it has the potential to be a great date spot. They do not serve food, but (never fear) you can order in! Buyer beware - the Chinese place will cost you $12, without a tip, for delivery for a normal combo. No thanks. I ended up walking across the street to Harris Teeter and found a sandwich for $4. BOOM!
I will visit WOB again, but possibly not on a weekend. I have heard that the weekends get CRAZY and it is shoulder to shoulder. During the week though, good place to enough an adult beverage!
They had me at World of Beer! It sounds like an establishment I would come up with in my dreams.
Actually I am not a huge beer aficionado, I usually just drink plane ole' BDL. I think If I came to WOB often enough, I could become one though. They have a cornucopia of beers to choose from, both on tap and domestic. They also have multiple high-def t.v's adorning the areas above their bar. They have only been open for  about a month or so, and actually haven't had their official grand-opening yet.
I was at WOB recently for a networking event and the bartenders were very helpful in allowing me to sample a few beers before settling on my beer of choice for the evening (Shotgun Betty). Inside it's not as big as it looks from the outside and can be a bit cramped when it's crowded (which it was). They had a kick-ass patio area which will be a big asset during the warmer months.
As mentioned in other reviews, they don't serve food, but you can order food from the near-by establishments and have it brought to you. I also agree this place has a very corporate feel to it and duh, that's because it is a chain. A quick Google search discovered that most of the locations are currently in Florida.
I was impressed by my first WOB experience overall. They also get bonus points for having a high-tech Dyson air-dryer in the bathroom. The first one of those I have seen in this area.
Beer Lovers Unite! Wait, I'm not one of them. Ok, this is still a pretty cool little place. First off, you can BYOF (that's BYOFood for those of you who don't regularly grab a pizza and then go drink micro brews). Right's right!
What is also unique is the little living room they have installed upstairs. It's like your house, except it's not and you can't sit around in your pj's.
As I eluded to, I do not drink beer. One, I do not like it, and two I am gluten-free. But, the beer-master assured me they have beer for the gluten-free... they have over 500 after-all. I did go with a glass of red and they had my favorite ... a malbec and I was impressed the choice and the price.. $6... seriously. I might have to come more often.
My friend did seem appeased with the selection and with what the tv's were showing. We'll be back to check out the live entertainment (wed-sun).
Go ...world of wine...I mean beer!
Okay I'm guessing that the price of real estate is going up again near North Hills, because beer lovers are going to want to live within walking distance of this place!
We were just walking around seeing what was in the area, when we peeked in and a charming Waitress invited us in and started asking us what kind of beer we liked.  Before we knew it, we were sitting down and making our selection from the several samples she brought us to try.  I couldn't decide between two, so I went with two small glasses, one with a dark cherry one and a wonderful stout called Green Flash. Husband went with just Green Flash. Â
She also brought us a menu of food from nearby restaurants that deliver, since they don't have their own food.  What a great idea!  We weren't hungry though.  Enjoyed our beer and left appreciative that that Waitress had drawn us in.  We'll be back!
People complain that there's no food when you can order from multiple surrounding places. They even give you a book of the menus! All kinds of food too. Besides, BEER IS FOOD!
They switch out draft beers a LOT, so check out what's new. And I didn't see any short pouring, mine was to the rim.
Prices are a little pricey but look at where you are.
This is a place for beer drinkers to drink great beer, not for the hipsters.
So I ended up here early afternoon for their grand opening. I'll start with the pros first. They have a lot of beer, a lot of TVs, and a dedication to live music. Â Although they don't serve food they allow you to order in. The music is definitely their only real attraction for me. For example, Acoustic Manner (typically a $10-15 show) is playing a free show tonight. They clearly have a dedication to quality acts and local talent, which I'm more than happy to support.
Now for the cons, although they offer 50 beers on draft and some 500 bottles, I found all of their beers to be overpriced compared to other specialty beer bars in the area (Draft, Brewmasters, Saucer, Village Draft House, etc). The most horrible part about this place (coming from a total beer nerd) is that the bottle menu is organized alphabetically instead of by style. This makes it extremely hard to order something new especially since the bottles are difficult to see sitting behind the bar.
Because of this organizational faux pas, I figured that I might have decent luck asking a bartender for a recommendation, especially since I have heard about the beer school that they are all required to go through. I requested a porter or stout, one preferably, which I haven't had before. The bartender brought me three choices and I was horrified to hear that he hadn't tried any of them. I'm sorry Mr. Bar Man, but you should not be making recommendations based on which three beers you can grab from the fridge. Luckily, they allow you to try anything on tap or I might have been stuck with a horrible beer at a high price.
Overall, this place has a decidedly corporate feel about it. I found that there was a lack of local beers and a lack of knowledge about the beer itself. If you're like me and have a dedication to local establishments, then this place probably won't be up your alley. Unfortunately, other than to return for a musical attraction that strikes my fancy, I will probably not be back anytime soon.
A group of us (self-identified craft beer lovers) trekked over to World of Beer this past Saturday night to evaluate. Granted, the establishment had only been open one week, so we tried to be more sensitive to service glitches (i.e. 15 minutes for a beer sample). Our server was very positive, so that did help ease the wait.
The draft list: a wide variety of styles and regions represented over the 50 beers on tap. However, this is where a star came off: several members of our group tried ordering beers from this list that were no longer available. Granted, kegs are going to kick throughout the night. But, since it appears the menu is printed daily (or close to it -- ours had Friday's date on it), WOB needs to find another way to keep the list updated, especially due to the amount of time it took for the actual beer to make it to the table.
The bottle list: a book. Lots of amazing choices. Another suggested brought up: instead of the book being in alphabetical order, why not by style? This can help people more easily find their preferences, especially if the breweries listed are unfamiliar to them.
WOB did an excellent job on the layout. We came also to see Matt Bowen perform, and the musician loft is a fantastic touch. There are plenty of televisions, outdoor seating (with heaters) and an upstairs living room space.
We'll go back again in a couple of months and see what changes have been made. It would also be great if more North Carolina beer was on tap. Perhaps something to consider in the future? Â I would recommend checking it out -- it is also a people-watcher's paradise (hello North Raleigh!)

I have been paying attention to the opening for World of Beer since I spotted that space in North Hills under renovation, hoping to snag the coveted FTR. Finally, I now have the chance.
Sitting in the building right off the Six Fork, across from Harris Teeter; if you see the fountain, you should be able to spot this joint. Probably because it's sitting on corner of the building, with a lot of window surfaces, it misguides you into thinking the World of Beer is a grand place. Stepping through the door I found that interior is actually quite compact, and I can already imagine people standing shoulders to shoulders during happy hours. I guess it's alright since the space is a bit vertical (there are upstair seating and a spot above the bar taps I can see for live music purpose.)
Bottles or taps, BOW carries a tremendous collection of imports and domestic, you can see all sorts of bottles lining the fridge shelves: Asia, Canada Germany, Belgium, English and Irish from over the Pond, and "Trappist" beer, something that I am not too familiar. I chatted up the bartend and barmaid, found out that this is a style of beer that originally brewed by or under control of Trappist monks inside monasteries throughout Europe. But if you don't fancy these sorts, WOB also carries local brews like Duck Rabbit or Big Boss. They also do a taste samplers, with an array of your choices.
I cut one star from the review, solely on the fact that WOB does not serve food. REALLY? What kind of bar does not serve food!? But fear not, there are plenty of places they have worked out a deal that will deliver here at no charge.
P.S. Ask for Loyalty Card if you think you will frequent the place. I have already signed up!
