    The building & staff...
This place is pretty big. Along with indoor seating by the bar and at tables, there are plenty of seats on the very large patio. On that patio, guests have game options such as giant Jenga and giant Connect Four.

The bartenders and servers are great. The live music is always awesome as well.

    The drinks...
The possibilities are endless beer-wise here. Any kind of beer you could possibly want they have. If they don't have that exact beer, there's something like it available.

    The food...
WOB doesn't actually serve food, but getting it is possible between food trucks and Wood Fired Pizza.

Overall, it took me a while to come around because the first WOB I ever went to was a small, crappy one in Tampa, but I've come to thoroughly love St Pete's edition.

I'm cringing that I'm about to give a four star to a chain, but I'm going to do just that, and they deserve the review. First off the bar and atmosphere were nice, calm, dimly lit, ample seating and a covered outdoor patio with ample seating as well, not to mention giant connect four and jenga. The thing that really got me was the beer selection. If you know me, then you know of my undying love for the city of Berlin, and all things Berliner. So when I see you carry Berliner Kindl, which I have NEVER seen anywhere else, I love you, seriously, I love you. Pricing was only slightly higher than non chains, but with better service. Now if they could just get a Leipziger Gose, I would have to turn this four to a five. Good job WOB!

I usually don't go to a lot of chain places, since they all seem the same.  The staff at this location are good at remembering customers and make it feel like a local place, not a chain that is all over the country.  The beer selection is very good, and I like the waitstaff.

I don't know what can I say about a place is the best to be for a selection of beer from the world?  They don't serve food, but there is an excellent pizza place next to it.  Go for the beer, the people, the live band, and the fun.

    I love their outdoor deck.

Excellent location in downtown St Pete.

Great selection of beers from around the world. You can try a lot of the beers on tap. They have a ton of TVs for your viewing pleasure. Right next to a pizza place and burger joint, which I believe you can bring your food over. Cheers!

We were in town for a half marathon on Sunday, we found Wprld of Beer on Satirday night. Our group really enjoyed it! We like trying beers that we can't get at he in Michigan and this place has ALOT! Nice deck, friendly staff, clean bathrooms! We really enjoyed seeing all the dogs hanging out on the deck. I'm glad someplace allows this! Wish we had that in Michigan!!!

Man if you ever want to know all you could ever learn about beer, this is the place to go. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable. I've had Kristen a couple of times and she is SO informative. The selection is HUGE. The crowd is pretty friendly. Nice outdoor seating with life-size Jenga game, which is fun to watch as others play. Often have good bands playing live, sometimes food trucks outside. You can have food delivered from nearby places.

One of the only "chain" establishments in DTSP, but it's a winner in my book. The environment is nice; clean and modern. It gets pretty busy and sometimes hard to find seating on the weekend, but it's a little bigger than some of their other locations from what I remember. I visited last night and the bartenders were quick and friendly. Always happy to offer samples before you order a whole beer. I've always been a fan of the Sea Dog Blueberry Ale and upon the bartender's suggestion I tried the new Raspberry and Apricot Ale. Both were light and delicious, not as heavy or bitter as I was expecting. The draft and bottled beer menu is extensive, it's often hard to decide what to get, so I have a bad habit of staying with the same thing every time!

Overall I think it's a great place to hang out in DTSP and will be back again.

This is one of our absolute favorite places to drink. Yes, it helps that it is within a short walking distance from our home. The real reason is more the atmosphere and the large selection on craft beers on tap. I prefer tap over bottle any day.

World of Beer has introduced me to so many of my favorite drinks including "Sea Dog Blue Paw" (Sea Dog Blueberry with Blueberries in it...don't knock it until you try it). I also recently discovered the St. Louis Raspberry Framboise which is amazing. They also often have numerous ciders (another favorite) and a nice selection of foreign beers. My Husband also discovered his favorite beer brand here: Chimay.

They have a loyalty card that offers discounts on certain days and keeps track of the different beers you have tried (isn't the goal always to try them all?). You have to pay for it, but you get a t-shirt that is worth the money.

WOB normally has some sort of live band, trivia or assorted event going on. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back. I have gone in there wearing everything from a t-shirt to a fancy dress and I have always been comfy. There are booths and barstools. They have a nice outdoor patio. They even have menus so that you can order food from local eateries and eat it there. You can't beat that!

WOB and Downtown St. Pete = perfect match. This is a great location to start your evening off with a few drinks (if your drinks are beer, of course) or just a good place for a chill weeknight out with friends. It's clean and spacious, you'll most likely have no problem getting a seat. Plenty of staff.. my drinks rarely get completely empty, even during busy hours. Yes, they don't serve food but you have two easy options for food. Order a pizza from Wood Fired or order Take out from theAvenue. Both are within feet of WOB.
This stays short of 5 stars because the decor is a little sparse. I like the low lights but it feels a little to chain-like indoors. I wish it had more of a local feel.
WOB is a great business going between the loyalty rewards and the mobile app... they're really catering very well to the craft brew industry. This location doesn't disappoint.

I don't drink beer, but I'm probably here just as much as other bars in DTSP. I really, really, really like the Lambic Raspberry Framboise. There are a couple other really yummy flavors, so try them. There is a St. Louis on tap, but I prefer the Lambic out of the bottle. Everyone I come here with can always find a drink they love and has a good time. They book some really fun bands on the weekends. Plus, you can bring pizza over from Wood Fired next door, score!

Good location, pretty much all WOB's have a similar standard as evident from the Raleigh and Tampa locations - tons of beers on tap, and great looking servers pouring! I will return!

About me - I was in the restaurant industry for 8 years, have brewed and enjoyed beers and have lived in Europe and had some of the best.  I have a good idea about what makes a place good - it's service.

Well, it's not "bad."  I went today (Friday at 5pm, 5-18-12) so not sure what the character in other time bands would be.  Maybe I got the b or c-crew.  Not very impressed with the gals that were tending bar.  They were generally 'distracted' by who knows what and really not on top of it, overall.  Not unfriendly, but not really friendly.  I'm not looking for deep conversation, but how about a sincere warm smile and 'service attitude.'  Maybe the ability to process and laugh at a joke or two.  That matters to me anyway.

I saw some WOB pics online - think I saw Tagen (tall, thin pretty brunette) - that's the kind of person I'm talking about.  She is the model of what the place needs (in case mgmt is monitoring reviews.)  She's smart, funny and has a great attitude.  Maybe she just catered the place or something, not sure.

OK, now the fixures... the beer.  The selection is great and they had stuff nobody has.  Location is OK.  Parking doesn't seem good but that might be a me-thing.  Pretty clean.  Has a patio that looked pretty good.  Kind of dark and bland inside.  Nice TV's at the bar.  Good piped-in music but could be a bit lower so good-beer-types can chat a bit more easily w/o yelling.

It looks like they have entertainment or the space for it.  Overall, besides sub-par barstaff it would probably be 3.5.  Maybe 4 if they got some kind of snacks... even bags of chips or something.  Probably a good Dram Shop stategy too.

Is this place better than your average mega-chain multi tap beer bar? Not necessarily. But they had a good tap selection, friendly staff and the place was clean. They had a few beers that we have not seen on tap in other places and we stayed for a round. If you are a beer geek, it's definitely worth popping in to check out but it's not necessarily a place to spend your whole evening. A little strange that they don't have any food available but I suppose that allows them to better focus on their selection of beer.

Why 5 stars?  Because it might be my favorite bar of all-time.

      ---   ---   ---

First of all, Let it be said that I think I have found my favorite beer of all-time at World of Beer.  It's called Grimbergen Dubbel, and it's wonderful.

Oh how my life has changed when it comes to beer.  Before our very eyes, I think I'm really beginning to appreciate the suds of life.  Once, strictly a Mich Ultra drinker, now a Belgium snob.  I've even looked up Belgium on a map recently to see where it's exactly located because I think I want to visit Belgium after enjoying their beer so much.,

What an absolutely incredible selection, I applaud my friends at the WOB for starting this venture.  It couldn't have been easy, but man...is it awesome.  I have no idea how many beers they actually have, but it's over 100, I would think.  I've tried almost all of the Belgium beers on tap in my two visits.  I will go back...and I will finish my assignment to dominate this Western Europe's inventory.

You're going to a place called World of Beer for beer right? Well there are bunches of beer here for the taking... Extensive draft beer selection as well as bottled beer. Service was good, even outside, on a pretty busy Saturday night. Strategically placed TVs for all you sports people as well. Overall WOB has sports bar feel with a ton of brews for the picking!
