This place is all about nostalgia for me. Used to eat here with my grandparents as a kid. Decorations are very 80's which i like. Got a few extra large rooms off to the side you can reserve for larger parties. View is very nice, overlooking the bay with large windows. Food is always fine. The cornbread they serve is fantastic. It tastes like cornbread cake, not dry like most. Â I love the scallops and steamed clams. A little bit pricey but it's local seafood, what do you expect? There is a McDonalds on the island for that... We usually order a bottle of wine and 2 dinners for under $60 for my wife and I.
Review Source:I should have gone with the reviews and stayed away from this place. The service was fine and the decorum is certainly 1960's era (no kidding), but the food was not all that great. Â In fact, one of our family members even got sick from eating there. So, do yourself a favor and stay away.
Review Source:Food was ok service could have been better. It was a bit crowed but they still could have stop by a little more. It was also a bit pricey for the size of the portions. Great view. I would come back but only after I have tried everything else on the island and then I would have to decide on the drive out. Also no beer only wine. How can you have fried fish with out beer.
Review Source:We tried Wright's...Wrong. It smells like cat pee and feels like someone vomited up 70's decor. First they don't have blue cheese dressing...honestly... The steamed shrimp were god awful... Unless you like overcooked and underspiced shrimp. Â This place only gets 2 stars only because of the steak which was barely above average. Where's Gordon Ramsey when you need him..
Review Source:Enjoyed this place, the inside is a bit dated but the view of the bay makes up for it. We went for dinner and got 1/2 dozen crabs, 1/2 lb steamed shrimp, a side and salad for 20 bucks. The crabs were mediums but nice and meaty. The server was very friendly.
A friend got the fried scallops and oysters and said the scallops were delicious and the oysters were average. Definitely plan on coming back..
Located about 10 minutes from Chincoteague is this restaurant. Â If you were judging it by the looks from the outside, you'd probably drive away. Â You'd think it was some sort of processing plant. Â Well, actually at one point it was a poultry processing plant, then a button factory. Â Later in the early 70's they started serving food to the people working at the seafood processing plant next door.
My wife had hear of this place and decided we should go try it out. Â I'm glad we did. Â We pulled up after 11:00 am, they now serve lunch. Â We walked in and was greeted as we entered the restaurant. Â There was only one lady eating there at the time. Â We were seated right by the window where you could overlook the bay. Â It was quite nice watching the water with no mosquitoes biting you. Â Our server gave us our menus and then took our drink orders. Â I figured since I was on an island that has fresh seafood, I might as well get seafood. Â I decided on the crab cake sandwich as did my wife. Â My 2 little kids just got some cream of potato soup. Â
As we waited for the food, we just looked out at the bay, watching the birds and boats pass by. Â I have posted a picture of the view from our window. Â Our food arrived. Â It actually came in a pretty good amount of time. Â The wait wasn't too long. Â My wife and I both thought the crab cakes were good. Â It was basically all crab meat, very, very little filler, if any. Â Not too much mayo or anything else like that. Â When I took a bite into it, I tasted crab and some seasoning. Â It was very tasty in my opinion. Â One of the better ones I had. Â It was a little small, but I'm assuming this is just the lunch portion. Â Price wise it was cheap. Â I think it was $9 for the sandwich, fries, and pickle. Â Â The potato soup was nothing fancy. Â Pretty plain.
The inside décor is super old.  Looks like stuff from the 80's.  That really didn't bother me.  The inside was clean, the staff was nice.  Can you really ask for anything more?  Next time we are back here, I will be sure to try them out again.
We visited for lunch. Â It was not busy and we sat right by the window overlooking the bay. Â The restaurant was clean and didn't have any weird fishy smells. Â I had the fried crab cake sandwich and it was very good. Â My kids shared some cream of potato soup and cheeseburger. Â I guess it's not hard to screw those up. Â They were okay.
Review Source:Jim B., you're not alone. My wife raved about this place from her trips here as a kid. On a trip to the Island in August 08, we decided to go. We arrived around 6 PM and the place was barely filled. Two things that I ordered were 86ed. The waitress didn't really seem to care to try and accommodate me either. I think I ended up with a fried seafood platter and it was okay. We did get to sit by a window overlooking the bay, which was nice. The place was relatively clean too.
Just seems like one those old school seafood galley's that you hear from old folks "man this place used to be the spot!"
