Having been here just once so far I can't really offer anything authoritative by way of feedback. That said, I think the place is fantastic! Very relaxed, low-key, and friendly with good service and a charming, unpretentious atmosphere. Zane's is by mo means a trendy, snooty, stereotypically "Aspen" bar. Which is a very good thing! (NB: review from summer 2011)
Review Source:If you're looking for any sort of 'nightlife' in Snowmass, this is where to come. It seems to be the only place with any sort of crowd after 8 pm. Also, if you're wanting to watch some sort of sports, this would be the place. We came here a couple of times on my last trip to Snowmass....one time to watch the Gophers NCAA game. They were the only place showing multiple games. And we also came once since we were looking for some drinks after 8 pm.
I've only eaten the wings here and they were delicious. Added bonus is that they have happy hour wings. Beer selection is limited. They only had 3 on tap and one of them was Budweiser, so might as well say they only have two beers on tap.
Zane's is also the place the most locals hang, which is a nice alternative to the touristy spots.
If this place was in just about any other town it would be nothing to write home about. Â But for Aspen it was just about the only place where you can sit down at the bar, maybe do a shot and BS with the locals. Â Met some cool guys, long time residents there for happy hour and had a nice chat about music, Aspen, HST and so on.
Dive-like in nature, but still comfortable. Â I did not try the food, but the bar alone is 3.5 stars, although I'm knocking off a half star for the "Philly Bar" factor ;)
Great happy hour divy atmosphere where you have a few drinks after a day on the slopes with fellow skiers and boarders. The happy hour (3-6pm) deal of $7 pitchers of Bud/Budlight and $0.40/wing is amazing! The wings are truly the best wings we've ever had anywhere! We asked for all the sauces (they have 8-10 choices!) on the side and the wings are super crispy on the outside with just the right amount of thin breading, and so juicy meaty inside. Our favorite sauces: Original, Habanero (very very hot, but looks and tastes freshly made!), and Chipotle. A must-go if you're ever in Aspen!
Review Source:This is the spot to go watch a football game if you're in Aspen during the winter. The beer selection is great (they have several New Belgium offerings on tap including the Ranger IPA and the Sunshine Wheat)
The food is pretty good here -- they do great comfort food as well as have some excellent sandwiches, burgers, etc. The wings are the best I've had in Aspen so far
We went here at least 3 times when we were out in December for a vacation. It's a very chill place to go apre ski as well and you'll no doubt run into fellow skiers and boarders at the bar while you're there
Definitely worth a visit if you're in Aspen
Relaxing pub with friendly service. Â We enjoyed a few drinks and some food. Â Since I can't have gluten I went for the tacos which were solid. Â We enjoyed lunch indoors as the sun kept us warm through the glass window like doors. Â After a shot of tequila I checked out and don't remember much after. Â My last memory was my friend enjoying the fried Mac & Cheese bites.
Review Source:Best mac and cheese wedges! My husband and I have been coming here for years. Love to have lunch here. Great bloody mary's, staff is great and atmosphere is fantastic. Gets very crowded for football games, so show up early. Love the veggie Philly with Asian garlic sauce and husband loves the chicken Philly with Asia garlic sauce. the best menu item: tator tots ;)
Review Source:If you go to Zanes you have to try the Buffalo Bites and the Macaroni Wedges, there for sure my favorite, but there is many other great bar type food here, from burgers, pizza, and even mexican food.
Their Happy Hour consist of something around $7 pitchers of bud or bud light and 50 cent wings. I don't think you can really beat that price in this valley. Maybe somewhere has but i haven't found it.
Sometimes the bartender is very nice and helpful, but ever once in a while you get one that kind of rude.
Otherwise I love coming here as the food and beer is great and cheap. They have plenty of TV's in every direction as well.
This place is great! I have been to the one in Snowmass too and I perfer this one. Its close to everything in downtown Aspen and has a great pub feel. This place is mostly filled with locals and you have to make sure you stop by here for their awesome happy hour.
I believe from 4-6, everyday, they have $7 bud or bud lite pitchers and 50 cent wings. We got the cajun, hot and asian garlic. Now these are good size wings for 50 cents and the flavors are great!
The bartender always came by and made sure we had our pitcher filled. Its nice to go somewhere in Aspen that wont break the bank and has good food. A must for anybody looking for a good time.
A smiling, hot pretty blonde greets your arrival, after that it goes downhill. Cheap Bud beers on draft and 40 cent wings are probably the best deal in Aspen, but the place is miniature with no attempt at ambience whatsoever. Â Just a man cave with a bored looking chef nurturing a fryer full of wings with bizarre flavorings. Â During the hour we were there, men outnumbered women 5:1. Â I asked for "mild" but was scolded that I had to choose between menu options. Â I listened to a neighbor table who tried the BBQ sauce and got sick. Â We went for the "cajun" version and could not even stomach past 2-3 each. Â You are given enough ranch dressing for maybe 1-2 to cover the odd taste, even when ordering a dozen. Â I recommend going to next door, "Ollies" and trying some interesting asian options.
Review Source:I wouldn't really classify this as a dive.
People say the tatter tots are great, but I would find it hard to not make great deep fried tater tots. Â It's not like they're hand making them or anything.
The wings are terrible and have made me sick.
The cheesesteak is probably the best in the valley but for someone from the East Coast (Zane or whatever is from Cherry Hill, NJ) it's appalling.
Now forget all that. Â It's a good bar. Â
It is especially good on St. Patty's day. Â Start at the Catholic Church down the street and move up there an stay there. Â Everywhere else in town is pointless on such a holy day.
This is one of the only dive bars in Aspen. It's a favorite "apres ski" bar with local riders, lifties, and the crews that work the mountain. But, the crowd here hates the term "apres ski". Decent Jukebox and the beer is cheap(for Aspen). Typical bar menu(45 cent wings) and lots of philly cheesteak style sandwiches--all average at best.
-If you're looking for a semi crowded local dive bar-you found it. If you're with good company-that will be the best part of your visit.
